In the darkness of the attic
In the confinement of those walls
A ballerina dances
Without any flaws

She dances to Tchaikovsky
She dances to Swan Lake
Thinking of her dreams and hopes
Coz' she's got what it takes

She twists and she turns
Glides across the floor
She whirls, twirls, does her pirouette
Lets her emotions soar

She dances out her rage
Dances out frustrations
Weaving her magic, she creates a spell
Using her imagination

In her minds eye
She sees her dark haired partner
Oblivious to her brave knight
Who will love her long after

And in a shadowed corner
Her gallant knights awaits.
There destinies intertwined
There part of each other's fates

His love for her is forbidden
Yet she is his Catherine Doll
The one he turns to,
When the world has taken its toll

Then, out of sheer exhaustion
Ballerina falls to the ground
Her knight hurries over
Kissing her without a sound

Not her dark haired partner,

She sees in her minds eye,

But her brave & bold knight

Who stands twelve feet high.

They hold each other close

Love shining in their eyes.

And they lay there for awhile

Growing older, growing wise.

And when they go to sleep at night
The danseur and her knight

They share secret smiles
Commune with their eyes

Leaving Words Unsaid
