Yuki
"Little big-brother!" The four-year-old happily shouted, long brown braids bouncing as the girl jumped up and down. The golden-eyed boy stared at her from across the room.
"Yeah?" He asked. She was the only one he would ever allow to address him as small. He quirked an eyebrow at Nina's excitement.
"Papa says it might snow soon." The girl declared happily. She walked towards the preteen boy and tugged playfully on his arm. "Isn't that amazing?" Edward smiled.
"Yeah. That sounds great." Edward said sincerely, trying to hide the slight nervousness in his voice. He still had so many more books to read through by the end of tonight. As much as he loved Nina, he had to keep studying.
"Do you like the snow, little big-brother?" She asked, smiling up at him with those impossibly wide blue eyes. Edward took a breath and closed his eyes concentrating on the correct array formation dealing with liquid metals and gas.
"Do you?" The eyes opened wearily and Edward somehow managed to find his voice.
"Yes." A quick response, but Nina was satisfied. She contentedly sat herself on the floor by Edwards chair, leaning against his right leg.
Edward turned the page of his text, internally quizzing himself on the previous chapter's information. He suddenly noticed the bundle near his leg shuffle a little. Edward glanced downward to find Nina holding a book and staring at it with intense eyes and a slight scowl. It only took a second before he realized she was a perfect imitation of him. He raised an eyebrow as she smiled up at him, extremely glad she had managed to catch his attention. She held up the small book and proclaimed proudly, "I'm studying just like little big brother!"
It was all Edward could do not grin and muss the girl's soft braids. He tilted his head slightly and offered the small girl a pleasant smile.
"Hai, Nina-chan."
