After another productive day of rampaging Central city with flamboyant shows of alchemy, Edward and Alphonse Elric retired once again to the library. (In Ed's opinion, the longer it took getting back to the hotel to be pummeled by Winry's wrench, the better. In Al's opinion, the wait only made her madder.)

They quickly lost themselves in the books, no longer searching for rumors of a Philosopher's Stone, or equations for human transmutation. Their goal required new things to learn, and eagerly they dove into the numerous stores of knowledge to broaden their field. Before long, it was midnight.

Al looked up. "Brother, I think we should go."

"Mmmhmm," Ed said, eyes never leaving the book.

"It's really late..."

Ed nodded and turned a page.

Al sighed. Then, looking at his brother, he began to think. He thought about what they had talked about the previous night, what they were looking for... He spoke up again. "Brother, aren't you tired?"

"Not really," replied Ed, stifling a yawn.

"Liar." Al shuffled around, cleaning up the books scattered across the tables and floor, his clanking echoing down the silent halls. "When was the last time you ate?"

"Early afternoon, I think."

"Jeez, Brother. You need to take better care of yourself!" Al stood up, looming over Ed and blocking his light.

Ed frowned and pointed at his book. "I'll be fine. This is more important." He turned his gaze back to the pages. "It's always more important."

"But aren't you hungry?"

"Not really."

Though he loved him dearly, it always exasperated Al how stubborn his brother could be. Thus he put his hands on his hips and said, "Well, I am."

Ed paused. He looked up at Al. He shut the book. "Oh. Yeah. ...Actually, I could go for a midnight snack...no, a full coarse meal should do the trick!" He stood up, stretching. "I wonder if there's any restaurants open at this hour?"

Al felt like smiling. He wished he could. "Good idea, Brother."

"Yeah, yeah."

"And don't forget to order some milk too."

"Hey!"

It was a reassurance. If you want to take care of me, you need to take care of yourself too.
