Summary: The Doctor's getting distracted… (Ninth Doctor & Rose)

Author's Notes: Give me two free periods and a biology homework that I'd really rather not do, and this is what you get.

Stop it, the Doctor told himself. Stop it right now.

He forced himself to look back at the computer. Right – flight plan, flight plan, heading forward in time to the year… er…

He sneaked a peek over his shoulder. Still doing it, then. Would she ever stop? Bananas didn't last forever.

Well, he didn't think so, anyway. That he knew of. Mind you, Rose had been eating hers for what seemed like ages. That and perching (in his opinion) saucily on the workstation, swinging her legs.

Flight plan, he thought abruptly, and turned back round.

"Doctor?" she enquired cheerfully.

The lips that just formed your name, said a crude part of his mind, were wrapped around a banana second ago. And you know what you're like about phallic symbols.

"Yeah?" he replied, keeping his back to her.

She tutted loudly. "Turn around."

"Er… I'm a bit busy, Rose… flight plans, you know."

A second later, a small missile whizzed past his ear. "Hey!" He turned around. "What was that for?"

She looked distinctly grumpy. "I've been eating a banana right under your nose for about fifteen minutes and you haven't even noticed!"

He frowned and ignored his hearts thudding in his chest. "Er… should I have?"

"Yes!" She glared at him. "One of the most effective seduction techniques known to womankind, and it doesn't even work. Or aren't you interested in women?" A look of horror crossed her face. "God, it's not me, is it? Do you find me… repulsive?"

He stared at her. The cogs in his mind were busy whirring away, and things slowly clicked into place. "Right. Er… maybe if you try again?"

Her eyebrows shot up. "Eh?"

"Yeah. Go on, get another banana and try it again. In fact," – he stood up, almost giddy with excitement at how his day was turning out, flight plans be damned – "meet me in my room. Sometimes atmosphere is important; it'll be better in there."

Rose was smirking as she sauntered off to collect another banana.
