Author's Notes: I love "Les Mis". It's one of my all time fav musicals. "Empty Chairs At Empty Tables" is my fav song from the musical. It took me forever to decide which fandom to use it for. I think it fits LOST very well. Who is this fic centered? Not telling. You have to read to find out for yourself. I even surprised myself with this one folks! Please read and review. Thankies.

Empty Chairs At Empty Tables:
By: Fancy Face
There's
a grief that can't be spoken
There's a pain goes on and on
Empty
chairs at empty tables
Now my friends are dead and gone...
The only sound he could hear was the roaring of the waves. The rest of the island was silent. Everyone else was gone. He was the only one left.
Here
they talked of revolution
Here it was they lit the flame
Here
they sang about tomorrow
And tomorrow never came...
They always talked about getting rescued. No one gave up hope at first. Then as weeks turned into months and months turned into years, everyone knew that no one was coming. His friends would never be rescued. They all layed under his feet.
From
the table in the corner
They could see a world reborn
And
they rose with voices ringing
I can hear them now
The very
words that they had sung
Became their last communion
On the
lonely barricade at dawn...
It was hard being the only one left. He had to do everything himself. He couldn't help but laugh at that thought. It had always been like that. That changed when he came to this island. He learned that it wasn't easy being by yourself. He also learned that having friends wasn't a bad thing. Now that they were gone, he missed them. He missed them dearly. However, he missed his beloved the most.
Oh
my friends, my friends, forgive me
That I live and you are gone
There's a grief that can't be spoken
There's a pain goes on
and on...
She had passed away in his arms. "I love you..." Were her last words, and they still echoed through his mind. He never knew he could love someone as much as he loved her. He gave her his heart, soul, and body. When she died, part of him died as well. He was never the same after that.
Phantom
faces at the window
Phantom shadows on the floor
Empty chairs
at empty tables
Where my friends will meet no more...
Even though he was officially alone now, he couldn't help but feel his friend's presence. He even swore that he would see their spirits from the corner of his eye. He never doubted it was them. He believed in life after death. He knew that they were watching him. He also knew that they were in a much better place and if they were happy, then so was he.
Oh
my friends, my friends, don't ask me
What your sacrifice was for
Empty chairs at empty tables
Where my friends will meet no
more
He never understood why he was the only one who survived. There were so many others who deserved to live other then him. He grew sad when a thought came to him: No one would know how great these people were. It was then he made a vow to himself. He would continue on living for them. He would make it. He would be rescued and once that happened, he would tell their story.
Sayid left the grave site to live another day, for their sakes, and for Shannon's.
Fin.
Author's Notes: (continued): I wanted to try something different with this one. I hope it turned out okay. I'm not too thrilled with the ending, but aren't you surprised it was Sayid? I bet you all thought I was going to use Charlie. I almost did, but I thought I would use another favorite character.
