Walking Circles
Just an idea that popped into my head while I was writing, it's a HectorAndromache poem so enjoy!
I didn't even know you when I became your property
I didn't know that you rose with the sun
That you were a friend to all horses
I didn't know that you adored your family
Or that you hoped for a daughter first
But did you know that all of that turned my world upside down?
Did you know that everything you are has had me talking backwards?
You didn't know that I hated to sew
You didn't even know that I hated swimming
That I was terrified of horses
That my brothers would kill to protect me
But you did know that I came to love you
Just as you had come to love me
And I hoped that when you made me think sideways
I was making you walk circles
Because of all the things I learned
And how much I grew
Changed me in ways you couldn't imagine
Did I do this to you?
Did I help you understand who I was?
Was I a good wife, and friend to you?
Did I make you walk circles when I told you I loved you for the first time?
Really quite fluffy, I needed that fluff right now to keep me awake because I'm on a roll and actually thinking about just not going to sleep and continue writing. First attempt at a Troy poem!
