::sniffle:: After only one person reviewed my Relena poem ::sniffle:: I was quite disheartened. ::blows nose on a kleenex:: But I'm resilient. :grabs a kleenex box and clings to it:: Of course I am. So, :sniffle:: just to prove to you that I won't take being ignored...::sniffle, blows on tissue again:: I've written another GW poem. This is Quatre's.

It takes place when he's in Wing ZERO going mad and all that. I didn't know how to do a pleasant Quatre poem, cause all his angst is wound up in fighting, not love. Unlike Heero Quatre knows how to make friends and keep them—its fighting that gets to him. So here it is. I own this poem but not the kawaii loco Quatre. You know, these are hard to do.

NOTE: This reads like 2 poems overlaid on top of each other to form one. For the sake of simplicity I also included them separately if you scroll down.

The Monster In Me

By Rashaka

There's a monster in me

A monster no one else can see

ZERO tells me they need to be destroyed

I used to be in control

They are my enemy

But I built the key that let it out

OZ is my enemy

Now I'm trapped between the golden-colored hate it gives me

Anyone who fights is my enemy

And my own sorrow

The colonies have become a part of OZ

I'm hiding in my own psyche

I'm killing millions

I'm hiding

I'm killing

It's not my fault

It's what I want

I didn't know what it was

It was my idea

It's not my fault

The monster's driven by my desires

And no one else's
Someone help me

Get out of my way

I'm waiting for you Heero

I'll kill you too

Don't hold back

ZERO thinks you'll be a challenge to us

Don't spare me

I'll kill everything till nothing is left to challenge us

I'll make space empty and quiet of things human

I need you to stop the monster I couldn't

Ok, here's them separate (but they're much cooler the other way):

ZERO tells me they need to be destroyed

They are my enemy

OZ is my enemy

Anyone who fights is my enemy

The colonies have become a part of OZ

I'm killing millions

I'm killing

It's what I want

It was my idea

The monster's driven by my desires

And no one else's

Get out of my way

I'll kill you too

ZERO thinks you'll be a challenge to us

I'll kill everything till nothing is left to challenge us

I'll make space empty and quiet of things human

There's a monster in me

A monster no one else can see

I used to be in control

But I built the key that let it out

Now I'm trapped between the golden-colored hate it gives me

And the grey of my sorrow

I'm hiding in my own psyche

I'm hiding

It's not my fault

I didn't know what it was

It's not my fault

Someone help me

I'm waiting for you Heero

Don't hold back

Don't spare me

I need you to stop the monster I couldn't

So what do you think? I'm experimenting with different poem styles, and I thought overlaying two short poems as one so they contrasted each other would be interesting. It is intended to be read as one whole poem though. In case you can't tell that Quatre's conscience versus his Zero-fueled anger. One is begging for death, the other wants to dish it out.

And before you ask—yes, I know that in the episode he waited for the civilians to evacuate before he attacked so he wasn't really killing millions that time—but who can say about the rest? Quatre destroyed *several* colonies after all, before the other two confronted him. And in his state I bet plenty of those colonies had people in them.
