Making It Work

Ecklie didn't know a thing about mistakes. If anything, he should have realized that he made a mistake putting Warrick under her supervision. He missed the double meaning in her words earlier and she was grateful. Ecklie was not as smart as he tried to let on.

Catherine giggled as she finished off the rest of her green tea. She had never felt more confident than now at this point in her life. She was happy, she was finally making things right with her daughter, and above all, she was in love. She forgot how wonderful that feeling was and all that came with it even the difficult times.

But at the moment, the difficult times didn't matter as she melted in Warrick's arms when he embraced her. They had just said goodnight to Lindsay, and the house was quiet except for some soft music in the background.

As they danced slowly with the music, Catherine found balancing easier to come by.

At work, she was Warrick's supervisor, and he was her subordinate. Outside of work, he was her lover, her best friend, and confidant as she was his.

They had arguments, disagreed on several things, and sometimes they doubted if they were going to be able to stay together at all.

But I'm making it work, she thought to herself as she gave into a passionate kiss from Warrick.
