Cake

Summary: Drabble (115 words). Sirius wonders if James's affinity for cake has anything to do with his decision to get married.

Notes: Okay, so listen. I decided today that, in order to make up for the proverbial drought that was the months of August through December (during which I wrote sporadically if at all), I'm going to write (and, yes, post) something every day of my Christmas break, of which there are nineteen days left. This can mean a chapter, a one shot, or a drabble.

This is a drabble, obviously, at 115 words, about James's affinity for cake. It's dialogue only, and in case it's confusing, Sirius talks first. Okay? Okay.

------------------------

"You're getting married."

"Yes."

"Is this about cake? This is about cake, isn't it? This is about getting a twenty-tiered cake made exactly the way you like it and eating it all."

"No, it's not."

"This isn't about cake at all?"

"No. This is about expressing my love for Lily. And a little about getting my mum to stop lecturing me about living in sin."

"I think it's about cake."

"It is not about cake! That's ridiculous."

"Is it?"

"Yes, it is positively ridiculous. It's ridiculous, it's ludicrous, it's preposterous, it's absurd, it's all of that stuff. My wedding is about showing the world how much I love my girlfriend and staying out of hell."
