So you believe your in love?

There comes a point in everyone's lives when they feel this intense emotion. At first you can't figure out what it means, for it is something you have never felt before. Then you ignore it, and don't think on it, betting eventually it will go way.

You subconsciously know it won't though, it never truly does.

Finally, finally it begins to hit you, knocks you over, and makes you laugh. You're in love. The notion seems so incomprehensible. This wasn't supposed to happen, it wasn't supposed to end up this way.

But it does, it always does.

It is like some universal rule, fate's twisted game.

So what makes you different from all of the others? What makes you so bloody special? We all fall, we all cry, we all hurt, we all go through something. No one's life is perfect no matter how hard we try to make it. Something always goes wrong.

And like so many others, you fall victim to everyone's favorite pass time: pain.

For you see, the person you fall for, the person that you claim that you are so in love with, is the one person you can not have. He is the one person you will never have. You love him anyways though, just like all the rest.

You appear fine, and no one can see the damage behind your wall. None of your friends can see you breaking with ever second, actually, no one can see that you have already broken, and are doomed to repeat this process over and over. Fixed, then broken, put back together, than smash, you shatter all over again.

You go through this cycle for a long time. Two years officially, but when you look back, you suspect that you have always been a little bit in love with him.

Your seventeen now, and you just graduated Hogwarts only a few mere hours ago. You were the top of your class, Head Girl, your even getting ready to go to the top Witchcraft and Wizardry University in the world. You have reached all of your goals, hand you have everything you have ever wanted.

Everything except him.

So you think you're in love?

No, you know you are, but still, that doesn't change the fact that you aren't the only one who has ever felt this way . What is so different about your case, about your situation?

You close your eyes, and your mouth twitches into a bittersweet smile. What makes you different is the fact that you will let go. He is happy now, with Cho, and you know somewhere deep down it is better this way. You know that he is going to ask her to marry him any day now, and you also know she's going to say yes.

Fluttering your eyes open, you look around at the place you've called home for seven years. Turning on your heel, you walk away, never once glancing back.

You let go.
