Author's Note: This idea is lightly based upon Melissarxy's Bombshell stories. This will be my first story of this sort genre, you know the whole Action/Adventure. So hope you enjoy my experimenting.

Prologue

KNOCK

KNOCK

A pounding beat echoed through the Brotherhood's boarding house. Someone was at the door at 3:00 in the morning.

Lights went on and two boys came down the stairs. One was Pietro Maximoff, and the other was Lance Alvers.

"Who could be out at this time of night?" asked Lance groggily.

"Do you think I know?" snapped the speed demon.

KNOCK KNOCK....... the knocking came louder this time.

"We're coming!" both Pietro and Lance shouted.

Lance opened the door wide open to a lost young girl, none other then Kitty Pryde. She was soaking wet and looked terrible. She had cuts and scrapes all over. Her eyes were, no doubt, puffy and red, and it looked like it had come from a lot of crying.

"I'm sorry," she said barely audible before collapsing right there in front at the door.

"What the hell?" Pietro mumbled as he watched Lance gingerly pick up the frail girl into his arms.

"I don't care why she's here, but we need to take care of her till she gains consciousness," Lance said answering Pietro's question before he even asked.

And after that was settled Lance took Kitty upstairs and cleaned her up.

A few hours later Kitty woke up, she let out a startled gasp as she looked around the darkened room. Once her eyes grew accustomed to the darkness she realized she was in Lance's room.

A sharp prick of pain hit her head as remembered what had happened.

/Professor Xavier.... the gloating.... the explosion.... the death..../ The memory and events racked Kitty's head until it became too much.

Blackness overtook her once again.

Downstairs all the members of the Brotherhood, except Pietro, were gathered around their excuse for a television.

They all watched open-mouthed in terror at what the morning news had brought out.

"A crash explosion somehow overtook the Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngster's ending in the death of many students and teachers. After police investigators searched this destruction area it was notified that everyone attending the school has been announced dead except for three individuals: Charles Xavier, the founder of the school, Logan last name- unidentified, a professor, and a student young Katherine Pryde. Though none is known about these mutants' whereabouts, it is certain that this issue is raised as much as a mystery. Back to the station for more on the story..."

The news switched from the crime scene to the station itself with another reporter.

"... The issue of this mystery brings another statement out. The Institute was obviously a home to the majority of Bayville's mutant population. Will the residents of Bayville, and people of the world react to this as a joy or something that must be stopped. This is Bayville News signing out."

After the new's statement was declared Lance switched off the TV.

The silence of the Brotherhood was broken as a rush of wind entered the living room.

Pietro stood there with a look of grief on his face.

"It's terrible. It's all gone.... Their bodies all dead."
