Shadow: This occured to me as I was thinking out a plot for another fic. I don't know what you people will make of it. Please don't flame, it's the first poem that I've ever put up. See if you can guess who the 'writer' is. It's kinda obvious.

I'll come back

I come from long ago, through the mists of time.

I'm a stealer of souls, your very being is mine.

I take things long forgotten from those that cannot speak. (1)

Shining treasures in the darkness are the treasures that I seek. (2)

I steal, I thieve, I want more, more, MORE!

I'm sadistic, I'm evil, I'm rotten to the core.

I've heard many things over these past millions of years,

I've heard weepings and wailings, the shedding of tears.

I've heard screams of the dying, their dark assasin's glee,

As their victim lies crying, in sweet agony.

I am the King of Thieves, a formidable foe.

My opponents lie rotting - to their deathbeds they go.

But even I too, did meet my match.

And we played a terrible game, with a terrible catch.

As two Kings we sparred, (3) as total opposites we fought, (4)

I tried my very hardest, but 'twas all for naught.

I was sealed five millenia in what I'd hoped to gain,

Encased in a ring, I was half insane.

And then when released, I had no body of my own,

Forced to share space with a boy, not yet fully grown. (5)

I have never died, I never will.

Though many out there, they wish me ill.

Arrow may strike me, sword pierce my heart,

I'll never die, life I'll ne'er (6) part.

I'll come from the shadows, I'll rise from the grave.

I'm the one that will strike you not the one who will save.

I've been bitten, I've been torn, I've been wrecked by the rack. (7)

One thing you must know is I always come back.

For how can you take what's already took?

How can you break what's already broke? (8)

How can you pull what's already parted?

How can you finish what never was started?

How can you tear what's already torn?

How can you swear what's already sworn?

How can you unsay what's already said?

How can you kill what's already dead?

A millenia, is but a drop in a vast sea,

Compared with forever, with eternity.

So push me, so hang me, I have the knack,

Of being the one who will always come back.

I went down to Hell and I knocked on it's door,

They wouldn't take me! I was too evil, and more.

Sweet angels took pity, I had an angel's face,

That soon changed quickly - angels too fall from grace.

Heaven now hates me, for Hell I'm too bad.

I've the boon (9) of eternity, what a gift to be had!

I've won this game, you have but the Jack,

I hold the King, I'll come back. (10)

Hell ne'er claimed me, shadows are my own.

When I'm one with the darkness, I'm safe and I'm home. (11)

I'm the burden on your shoulders, Hell's demon, your pack.

For forever and infinity, I'll always come back.

Shadow: What the numbers mean...

1) He takes things from dead people. Dead people can't speak.

2) 'Shining treasures in the darkness'? Oh come on. He takes sparkly things from tombs. Tombs are dark. He's a tomb-robber.

3) Pharoah (King) vs. King of Thieves. Two kings fighting.

4) Well they are total opposites. One's a rich Pharoah, the other's a tomb-robber.

5) They both share a body.

6) Ne'er is an old-fashioned word for never.

7) A stretching rack. It pulls and pulls until your muscles crack. (Coo. Mini rhyme.)

8) Pronounced brook.

9) Basically means gift or present.

10) It's talking about a card game where the person who holds the highest card wins.

11) Can anyone remember this guy saying he is the darkness?! Of course he's gonna feel safe in it!

So, there you are... Please let me know what you think.
