The Parkinson Maid

AuthorsNote/Disclaimer: A Story Based on "Ever After" …which was based on "Cinderella"…which I altered to create a Harry Potter Fanfiction Story. Horray. And I'll just say my disclaimer now: I own none of the characters in any of the books/movies mentioned above.

Chapter Two

The cold stony walls flashed with the shadows given off by the green flames of the magically altered candles. The pub was a quiet place, filled with a dull compressed chatter of the robed characters that occupied the mahogany tables. Draco and Narcissa Malfoy were among the robed characters, who were eating an early dinner at The Granite Serpent, Knockturn Alley's finest Pureblooded Steakhouse/Pub. Since the downfall of the Dark Lord, the rest of the Dark community, found it important to invest in values of Unity and keep their old ones of Inferiority. They had constructed establishments all around the wizarding world. As long as they harmed no muggles, the Ministry did not complain much. This greatly displeased Harry Potter and his Anti-Voldemort movement, who were STILL gloating in their glory. It was sickening.

Draco helplessly picked at his steak with the fork as he swirled the pumpkin juice in his mouth. Narcissa sat across the table, chewing silently. Since the loss of her beloved Lucious, the widow took great interest in "self indulgent world traveling" leaving her son to have totally control of the Manor in her absence. Draco, however, didn't mind this one bit. After all, what strapping young adult doesn't want a Manor to himself? Earlier that week, Narcissa had sent her son a letter, demanding he meet her for dinner. Draco, deciding he was intrigued and had nothing better to do, had gladly accepted the offer. Now, after the awkwardness, he sort of wished he hadn't. His mother had something up her sleeve aside from the usual "anti-muggleborn/carry on your father's will speech" she usually gave. Narcissa had never taken him to dinner before. She generally preferred to intrude on his personal life, or when he was at work.

The Young Malfoy held a prestigious job as an employee at T.R. Real Estate. It was a widely known Agency started by a group of ex-death-eaters after the fall of He-Who. . . oh, forget it, Voldemort. Draco enjoyed his work there; it was good money seeing as they only sold the best lands to the best wizards in all of England. But right now, it was tense, and one of them needed to break the ice. Right on target, Narcissa decided to speak up. "I shall be staying with you at the Manor for a couple of weeks."

Determined to show this wasn't pissing him off, he remained motionless, still picking at the steak.

"Did you hear me, Son? I had said . . ."

"Yes." Draco said, tersely, "I heard what you said" He chugged down some more of his pumpkin juice, before returning to his plate. After chewing a piece of steak he looked up at his mother. "I thought you were going to Spain for a month?"

Looking smug, she merely replied "Yes, indeed I was, however I have some business I need to take care of at the Manor. I will be moving in tonight."

Deep down, Draco's blood was boiling in anger. That wasn't appropriate to just barge back into someone's residence and move in for a couple weeks. Ok, so she did rightfully own the house, but Its not like Draco cared. As far as he was concerned, it was his life and his manor now. This had definitely been the worst thing to happen to him today since he found out that Granger lived down the road. "As you wish" He said, making an icy eye contact with his mother. They had never gotten along particularly well, especially since his mother had turned erratic and spacey since the end of the War. She gave a smug smile and asked the waiter for the bill. They paid quickly, without any further words aside from "Ready to apparate?" Much to Draco's dismay, Narcissa remembered to apparate home.

Immediately upon entrance, Draco swiftly strided into his room where he lay face up on his large bed, staring at the lighting fixture that hung from the beautifully crafted ceiling. He thought, and thought, because there was nothing else to do. That is, until he heard a familiar tapping noise at the glass of his window. He drew the curtains to reveal a small gray owl tapping from the outside. Draco quickly let the bird in, and untied the parchment as he read its message.

Hey Draco, I can't wait to see you tonight. I'll be at your place around 8. Don't forget, sexy.

- Kassandra.

Smiling, he put the letter down on the night stand as he briefly thought of Kassandra. She was one of his secretaries at the Agency, a cute perky blonde, only a few months younger than him. She was, of course, like all Draco's conquests: Rich, pureblooded, sexy and totally obsessed with him. However, Draco's smile turned into a quick frown as he looked at the time, 7:55. How was he supposed to have successful shag when his MOTHER was in the house? He heard the doorbell ring – he began to run down the stairs before his mother could answer the door. This was the first time Kassandra visited him, how unreputable would that look if his smug old mother answered the. . .door. Too late.

"Hello" Mrs. Malfoy said coldly, as she eyed over the girl's rather revealing attire.

"I suppose you are the maid" Said Kassandra with a giggle, as Draco watched from the upper level, his back pressed to the wall. "Its very nice to meet you, then." she replied in a perky voice, keeping to her manners.

"I am Draco's mother. He should be waiting for you upstairs, or should I summon him?"

"No need, I am here" He looked at Kassandra's outfit and gave a sexy smirk in her direction as he headed upstairs taking her arm and leading her up.

"You didn't tell me you still lived with your mother!" Kassandra was not good at pretending she wasn't turned off by this fact. Draco sensed this, and quickly explained the situation. "She stopped by randomly, its her place and she just is never home. Lawfully she has the right to be here. Would you like to go out somewhere?"

"No, lets just go to your room. I've been dying to see if you live up to your reputation."

"I can guarantee that" He said, throwing her a sexy grin. He pushed her lightly against the door and it opened easily. He continued lightly pushing her towards the bed as he stamped her neck with nibbles and kisses as his hands reached under her low cut shirt as she struggled to unbutton his belt buckle. Draco shuddered as she ran her thin hands up his chest as Kassandra let out, what appeared to be a small moan. It was a rather inhumane noise, but needless to say, it turned him on. He started to suck her neck and he heard that sound again, that "ehm" sound, that for some reason sounded extremely sexy. Draco broke away and looked at her, and momentarily broke away from the kissing motions. "Ehm" he heard again, more distinctly. He turned to face the direction of the sound and nearly screamed, at the doorway stood Junior, the Malfoy House elf. Oh Merlin thought Draco, disgusted. I just got turned on by a house elf.

Kassandra let out a small yelp "Draco! What is that doing here?"

"Ehm" The house elf cleared it's throat again, and answered Kassandra's question. "Sorry Miss, Junior just needed to tell Mr.Malfoy that Mistress Malfoy need speak to him now"

Draco was now officially steaming mad. Just as he expected, his mother was completely destroying his sex life. "Fix yourself up Kassandra; I'll come over to your place after I take care of business."

"Umm...sounds good" she said, pleased to hear that there was a "to be continued. . ." Kassandra adjusted yourself and took Draco's arm as he proceeded to walk downstairs into the Parlor room, where his mother sat on the sofa, reading a novel.

"Please tell your. . .charming guest, that she leave us alone. This is not her affair to be meddling in."

Without answering his mother, Draco continued to escort Kassandra to the door. "I'll see you soon, love" He said, in the most sexy voice he could manage. It was hard to sound sexy when: A)your mother is bitching you around and B)you just found out that the house elf gave you a boner. But knowing Draco, he pulled it off marvelously. After seeing Kassandra to the door, and watching her leave, he went back into the parlor. She noted his entrance "I have a proposal to make."

Draco just rolled his eyes, "And what kind of proposal do you propose?" he said, dreary and annoyed at the same time.

Narcissa almost looked hesitant, which was not only rare, but refreshing to see. For a brief second he considered feeling bad for his mother in this supposed time of confusion, but after second thoughts, he decided against it. "Draco, the Pureblooded line is dying. Your father would hate to hear those words, but it's the truth. We must keep the family line going, so I have arranged for you to be wed to Lavina Flint, younger sister of your old school buddy, Marcus."

Appalling!

"What? But. . ." This was by far absurd, an arranged marriage? Draco wanted nothing to do with marriage, kids or any lawful binding to only one female body. "That is repulsive!" Draco exclaimed. "Why?"

His mother just sighed, almost as if she showed no interest she was signing her son's sex life over to Lavina Flint. Yes, that's because she wasn't the slightest bit interested. "Because, I must do my duty in preserving the Pureblooded line of the wizarding community to prevent. . ."

Draco cut her off "Like I'd marry anything BUT pureblood? Have you lost it woman?"

"From what I've seen you don't appear to be settling down anytime soon. So I have arranged it, Lavina's father has graciously agreed. I told them I would go over it with you first and give them your consent as soon as you grant me it."

"Which I am definitely not going to do."

"Draco. . ."

"What? God, mother, she's ugly."

Narcissa gave him a shameful look "Its not all about looks you know, its about money and power."

As if that sounds any less shallow.

Draco jammed his fists into his pockets, as Narcissa spoke again. "We are having a formal Ball to celebrate the engagement, relatively soon. You should meet with Lavina as soon as possible to discuss the decorations."

"Look, I'll do this whole party rubbish, but I will not have an arranged marriage. Can we come to some form of compromise?"

Narcissa just looked at him, desperate for an agreement she was not going to get. "Good" Draco concluded "A compromise it is, now I am off to go complete some unfinished business. Bye, Mum." He waved goodbye, almost as mockery, but almost like the old times. When he'd go off to Hogwarts, she'd kiss his cheek and things wouldn't be this weird kind of awkward. She'd give him the "proper wizarding speech" but it wouldn't be cold intended. She had been a mother once upon a time. Sometimes Draco wished he knew who she was now. On second thought, right now he had other important matters to deal with regarding his trouser snake.

Author's Note: I know, this is a short chapter. I will try to make them longer for future notice, but I wanted to just get Draco's Point of View out in the open, and I wanted to set up his side of the story. I hope you liked it anyway. Just a few questions, are they in character? Does it seem to flow alongside Ever After with not being TOO cliché to both a Draco/Hermione arranged marriage and Ever After? Well I think that's about it, leave your comments and questions in the REVIEWS.
