Buffy got out of her car and headed for the Caritas. She was looking for a demon, last seen there. When she walked into the bar she felt as if she was hopping realities. A bar in LA where tonnes of demons quietly sat at their tables, all in peace with one another, the world and the numerous humans around them. Would it not be nice to have such a place in Sunnydale too? All of Sunnydale in fact. Or the world. Just cast an antiviolence spell on the world and don't worry about it.

She sat down in one of the compartments to the side. They were usually used by the weirdest of the demons, that were strange even for this place, and who didn't want to show their unusual bits and pieces around. She simply ordered a coke and studied the area. Meanwhile, The Host came on stage and announced that their standard contract singer was coming on stage for the second part of her performance today. She heard the words and the voice, "tell me lies slap me on the face just improvise", but only looked up from her demon search after several lines of the song. She blinked, she shook her head, she cleared her eyes with her fists, but still, Darla remained on stage, singing,

But I can't help it
if I'm just a fool
always having my heart
set on you"

At this point Darla turned her attention towards the bar. Buffy followed her gaze and they both settled their gazes on Angel standing next to the bar. She watched with astonishment and dread, fearing Angelus had come out to play again as he seemed to rock in his arms, and he chuckled softly to himself. As the child turned towards the stage, pointing a finger at the singer, she could see his pale cheeks, dark hair and round face.

'til the time
you start changing
the rules
I'll keep chasing
the soles
of your shoes

Fool

The green demon at the bar handed a bottle with red fluid in it to Angel, and the toddler immediately turned into a game face, snatching the bottle from Angel's hand. He grabbed the shoulders of the boy, lifting him up to eye level and facing him. After some talking, the boy handed back the bottle and shifted back to his human face. When Angel gave him the bottle back he started sucking slowly, leaving his human face on. Darla now song facing Angel all the time.

Got resigned from
hearing my own story
every night I'm paying
hell for glory
I'm embarrassed but
I'm much more sorry

She smiled and he smiled back at her.

All this pain begins
to feel like pleasure
with more tears
you'd make a sea
of desert
salt my wounds
and i'll keep
saying thank you

But I can't help it
if I'm just a fool
always having my heart
set on you
'til the time
you start changing
the rules
I'll keep chasing
the soles
of your shoes

Fool

But I can't help it
if I'm just a fool
always having my heart
set on you
'til the time
you start changing
the rules
I'll keep chasing
the soles
of your shoes

Fool
I can't help it baby
fool
I can't help it baby
fool
I can't help it baby
fool
I can't help it baby

Fool
I'm a fool
I'm a fool

Darla now stepped off the stage at the end of the song and set down next to Angel.

The tot gurgled, "Mum mum mum."

Darla chuckled, shifting the baby from Angel's knees to her own.

Issues. There were quite a lot of issues Buffy could think of now. The demon she came for was the last on the list.

The End.
