A/N: hey all, this is me in need of a hobby ;) just a small fic about the night of the MORP, Scott's feelings while in the restaurant... please R&R!!

Forever Unforgiven

Scott stared into his father's eyes, unable to fathom the hatred that stared back at him. The disappointment that clouded the once crystal clear gray-blue eyes of a man that used to love him. Scott had known what love was once, in a homey two-story house filled with the affection of a caring mother and father.

But that home was no more, that life had withered and died with the arrival of the storm. The fights, the yelling and screaming shook the house with such fervor that Scott had often spent his time blocks away, playing basketball with other boys that he barely knew. But worse than the screaming was the silence that soaked into the walls and filled the air with gloom, that turned a home into just another house, devoid of love and consideration.

Through the separation and eventual divorce, his parents had never denied their love for him. But that was what his father was doing now.

"Not once did you have the GUTS to say no!"

But he did. He had said it so many times that he now screamed it in his sleep. It had not made a difference. She still came, and even though he fought, she still won. She had won against CPS too. And she was triumphant even now, for she had managed to do the one thing Scott feared above all else: she had turned his father against him.

Even as Scott defended himself, he saw the malice in the eyes of the man in front of him. The blazing anger as he confirmed his belief that Scott was the one to blame.

Scott left the restaurant. He could never go back to the house that haunted him in his dreams. There was no love there, no hope.

There was only one person that would give him what he was looking for. Shelby knew everything and accepted his tormented soul without question, let him back into her arms even when he had not been able to accept her past. She was the only one who could comfort him and understand his pain, and she would do it without prejudice.

It hit him like a ton of bricks: this was what love felt like. The unconditional understanding and compassion that he found within her eyes was missing from the eyes of his father. His father would never understand. He would remain forever unforgiven.
