The Truth & Recovery

Hospital - Waiting Room 7:40am

Rebecca was pacing up and down the waiting room, growing impatient waiting on news about Jill. Claire couldn't do very much but watch. Rebecca hadn't said anything since they found Jill. Claire offered her friend coffee but Rebecca simply shook her head no. Both girls looked as a doctor came from the surgery.

"Which one of you is Jill's next of kin?" Rebecca and Claire looked at each other.

"I am" came a deep voice from behind them "I'm her father, Dick Valentine"

"You've just had surgery, you should be resting" Claire said gently to the worried man in the wheelchair

"I need to see my daughter"

"Miss Valentine is still asleep, we had to sedate her when she woke as she became hysterical. I can take you to her but you can't go in. She has been moved to our psychiatric ward for recovery"

"Psychiatric?" Asked Rebecca

"Yes, she clearly has problems and could have died with those injuries and the fact she is hysterical, the ward is fitting"

"Are you crazy? She's coming out of there right now! Of course she's hysterical, shes spent over 24hrs with psycho doctors torturing her and now you have her locked in a room and strapped to a bed with people she don't know prodding at her?"

"She will get the best treatment, it's not up for discussion, follow me if you wish to see her" Said the doctor walking away. The doctor stopped and pointed through a window, all 3 looked at Jill's still body strapped to a bed.

"What have you done to my baby" yelled Dick "i swear to go if you don't unstrap her now i will..."

"You wont have to do anything, calm down" a deep voice said putting a hand on Dicks shoulder. It was Barry

"Jill is coming with us. We have an experienced medical team to deal with Miss Valentines condition" the man said handing the doctor some documents.

"I guess she's all yours" said the doctor and walked away.

"Who are you? What do you want with my daughter?" Questioned Dick

"We just want to nurse her back to health Mr Valentine, we are hear to help, Miss Valentine can come and go as she pleases when she recovers but sir you have to understand, she must come back to us as and when requested otherwise we will have to take away her rights to freedom. This is a high priority situation and a special until within the government is taking over" Said the man looking at Jill through the window as she was stretchered onto a bed and wheeled outside to the waiting van.

"Mr Valentine, you are welcome to visit when you recover"

"I'm going with you, i want to be there when she wakes up" demanded Rebecca

"Ah Miss Chambers, of course, we could use your medical and science experience with this" The man smiled at her over his glasses.

"Jill is not a science project and i will not allow you to treat her as so" Said Rebecca putting her foot down. The man looked at a smirking Barry & Claire behind Rebecca and nodded his head

"Lets get going shall we? Mr Burton, tell your boss we will be in touch" With that the man closed the door and the van drove off. Inside Rebecca sat holding Jill's hand. The man looked over to her with a smile.

"You two close?"

"Very" Rebecca replied straight to the point

"Very as in intimate?"

"That's none of your business!" Snarled Rebecca "And it's rude to pry into someone's life without even introducing yourself first" She continued matter of fact.

"The names Trent" he extended his arm with a smile to shake Rebecca's hand. Rebecca ignored him and turned her attention back to Jill.

"Miss Chambers, we aren't here to upset anyone but the reports we received about what Miss Valentine has growing inside of her, needs proper safe medical and scientific help. It won't be easy for her. She's going to need the support of you and her friends. I promise any final decisions will be left in Jill's hands as long as she is contempt enough to make choices, otherwise the final decision we will promise to leave to you and your team. You have my word, Jill's well being is all we care about"

"You can't blame us for our lack of trust in the government these days. Time will tell whose side your on, for now we will comply" Replied Rebecca

"I understand, you have been betrayed by your own before but please any questions or concerns feel free to come to me anytime. We are here"

Police Station - S.T.A.R.S Office

All of the team minus Jill and Rebecca were in the office waiting on David showing up for the debrief, none of them had any sleep in over 24hrs

"Sorry for keeping you waiting folks, i know you must be eager to get some shut eye. The meeting with the chief took longer than expected. Now i have good news and bad news. Bad news first, and i don't want to hear any noise until im completely finished. Jill im sorry to say is going to be under investigation for the attack on her father and arrested for conspiracy with Wesker and Ada since she did not disclose to anyone what was going on and losing our chance to arrest Wekser and Ada. The good news is i have convinced the chief to let us continue the investigation on Dick Valentine's case and i spoke to a friend high in the government about ill's situation and to receive medical help in there specialised hospital to avoid her any arrest warrants and distress until we figure something out to clear her name. Trent is above the chief so if he says she's not fit for trial then she's not fit. She's safe for now" David closed his eyes and waited for the pile of questions that were going to be thrown at him and anger.

"For a start Jill would never hurt her dad" Said Barry

"And there is no way Jill volunteered for that type of abuse and to be impregnated, that ridiculous! Who the hell do they think they are" yelled Claire standing up and storming out the office.

"This is bullshit and you know it" Chris said slamming a fist down on David's desk and following his sister out

"Anyone else want to have a go?" Asked David rubbing his sore tired head "Good, im going home to sleep, you all should as well. We have a lot of work to do to clear Jill's name. I will see you all here 9am sharp tomorrow morning" with that David picked up his stuff and left. Leaving the others to discuss there awkward situation.

Outside The Station - 4pm

Claire Stormed over to her car mumbling to herself annoyed they were trying to blame Jill for all that happened after all she had been through. She was broken from her thoughts when her keys got grabbed out of her hands. In a quick move Claire surprised the thief and had them pinned up against her car.

"Okay, you win sis. Can you let me go now?" Grinned her brother slightly embarrassed his sister got the better of him.

"You meathead! You trying to scare me" Yelled Claire hitting his arm. Chris grabbed the keys back off Claire

"I'm driving, come on, we are going to see how Jill & Rebecca are doing then we will get some shut eye"

"Why can't i drive?"

"You suck and after surviving bio weapons and zombies, i wouldn't be happy going in a car crash"

"Shut up you freak" Said Claire slapping his arm again before climbing in the passenger side.

Government Funded Special Unit - 4:50

Pulling up outside the building both Redfield's looked at it with wide eyes. The building was very large had about at least 6 floors and was made from some sort of think shiny glass making it look very elegant. Chris parked the car and they made there way to reception.

"Hi, we are here to see Miss Valentine, she was brought here this morning" said Chris flashing his badge, as did Claire.

"I'm sorry sir, Miss Valentine has not to have any contact with the police service due to the severity of her condition worsening by un needed stress and worry. If you.."

"Look lady it's been a long shitty day, we worked our asses off to get our friend back so cut us some slack and let us see her"

"I'm not auth..."

"Ah Mr Redfield, names Trent, i'm looking after Jill's tender situation, it's a pleasure to see you again. Ruth, these are friends of Miss Valentine, please make a note of there details so they will be authorised for future visits. If the two of you just give some details to Ruth you can then make your way to the 3rd floor room 306" Smiled Trent before rushing out the exit.

Claire smirked at the woman as she took down there details and logged them on the computer.

"Anytime you come in or out sign the in book and date and time it, same with the out book when you leave" Explained Ruth

"Yeah yeah" Said Claire not liking the woman's attitude very much.

Claire and Chris made there way over to the glass elevator and raced to see who could push the button first to the 3rd floor, the older Redfield won this time smirking at his sister and the elevator same to a stop. Claire Smiled and stepped out shaking her head and walking down to Jill's room, Chris behind her smiling.

Claire gently knocked on Jill's door and entered. Jill was still asleep looks peaceful for a change hooked up to machines and drips with painkillers. Rebecca was sitting on a chair next to Jill holding her hand but careful not to catch the drip in her arm.

"Becky?" Claire said softly making the young girl jump a little "Sorry didn't mean to scare ya" Said Claire walking up and giving her a hug.

"Hey Becca" Smiled Chris walking over and giving her a peck on the head "how are the two of you doing" Asked Chris pulling over a chair for himself and Claire.

"I just wish she would wake up all ready, i miss her eyes, her beautiful eyes" Smiled Rebecca stroking Jill's hand "Every now and again she will twitch and have a pained look fall across her face but that's it" Said Rebecca with a sigh.

"Give it time Becky, she's had a lot of energy drained out of her and blood loss. I do believe she is in good hands" reassured Claire. There conversation was interupted by a doctoor coming though the door

"I'm doctor Norbert, James Norbert. You all can just call me James. Sorry it's taken me so long to come round and see you, we've been busy. I just have to run a few checks on Jill if that's ok"

"Yeah.." Said Rebecca letting him in and standing at bottom of the bed with Chris and Claire giving the doctor some room. They watched as the doctor checked her blood pressure, heart rate, fluid intake and noted them all down. He then checked both of Jill's eyes 1 at a time flashing a torch in them. The doctor smiled.

"Jill im James i'm your doctor, i'm here to help you. I need you to squeeze my hand if you can hear me" Nothing, the doctor made some notes on his pad "Jill, i know you can hear me, i just need something, anything to confirm you understand what i'm saying" He watched intently as did Rebecca. After a few minuets Jill's eyes flickered every so slightly but was enough to confirm she was with them "Thank you Jill, you've done great. I'm sorry for disturbing you Jill but i need to check your wound dressing, it's not going to hurt" Explained the doctor as Rebecca bit her lip watching with the two Redfield's either side of her.

As the doctor gently rolled the covers down Rebecca gripped the bed as she watched Jill's heart rate gradually rise. As the doctor opened the lower part of her gown slightly where her wound was while keeping her dignity Jill's heart rate went from gradual to rapid. Jill started panicking and trying to talk causing her to choke against the tubes down her throat

"Jill you need to calm down, we're not hear to hurt you" explained the doctor stopping what he was doing. Seeing Jill in distress Rebecca ran to her side holding her hand and stroking her face. Claire at her other side holding her hand.

"Jill, it's me, it's Rebecca. Listen to my voice, your ok, your safe. Nothing bad is going to happen i promise" Rebecca said through tears

"Jill you need to relax, you're not in that shit hole anymore, your with us, Rebecca, Chris is here and me, Claire of course" Said Claire stroking Jill's hand.

The doctor watched as the two girls calmed Jill down, she was still nervous and tense but the doctor understood this.

"Jill, it's James, your doctor. Your incision has been bleeding again, i'm going to have to change it. It might sting but it will only last a couple of seconds"

The two girls held Jill's hands and kept reassuring her as the doctor cleaned and redressed the wound. Rebecca and Claire looked at each other as Jill gripped both there hands tight and tried to let out a scream as the pain shot through her.

"Okay Jill, thats you, your okay" The doctor said softly as Rebecca and Claire fixed her covers over her. "You've done well Jill, i won't disturb you anymore tonight, i will leave you with your friends. You did great" Smiled the doctor. He nodded at the others and left the room. The 3 team members looked at each other each having thoughts of there own going through there mind about the whole situation. Chris was first to break the silence.

"Hey Jill, guess what? Claire nearly pulled my arm out of the socket on the way here. Can you believe that? My own little sister attacking me, it's bloody..."

"Eh excuse me!" Interrupted Claire "Jill the creepy bastard jumped up on me from behind to steal my car keys, since he has issues that i can handle the wheel and gear stick better and cooler than him"

"Ha i don't think!" Shot back Chris making Rebecca laugh. Jill twitched her hands a little causing her laughing team mates to look at her. They could see her trying to open her eyes, she managed very slightly

"It's ok sweetheart, don't rush" said Rebecca with a smile running her finger lightly down Jill's nose.

"Yeah Jill, don't be in a rush to open your eyes, least not until Chris hides his ugly face" Claire said quietly in Jill's ear causing Rebecca to giggle at his expense.

"Awk come on 2 against 1 is very unfair, Jill you need to back me up here"

Jill, scrunched her face up and wiggled around a bit squeezing Rebecca and Claire's hand

"Ok Jill, we hear ya, we are going to go and give you and Rebecca some alone time" Said Claire giving Jill a kiss on the forehead, Chris doing the same after pulling his sister away.

"Goodnight Jill, rest up. Eh Becca we need a word outside for a sec"

"Sure" Said Rebecca feeling Jill tighten her grip "I'll be right back sweetheart i promise" Whispered Rebecca and then followed Chris and Claire outside the room.

"Big problem. Chief is looking to put the blame on someone for Wesker and Ada getting away, and that someone is Jill. They also reckon she's responsible for her dad and so she doesn't get arrested they have put her in here with the help of David's friend Trent" Claire said all at once then gasping for a breath

"You know Claire ya coulda stopped for air" Said Chris

"No way, look at her, they can't.."

"Don't worry about it Rebecca, we will be on the case first thing tomorrow, you just look after Jill, we will do the rest" Reassured Chris giving Rebecca a hug. Claire gave her friend a hug and said her goodnights and leaving with Chris.

Rebecca made her way back into Jill's room looking at all the machines she was hooked up to. With a sigh she made her way over to Jill's bed and pulled a chair closer resting her head on the side of the bed. "Goodnight Jill" She said before nodding off into a sleep.

Government Funded Special Unit - 5:20am

Rebecca woke with a startle at the sound of rapid beeping and a lot of shouting and arguing. Throwing the covers off herself she sprung up to the crowd of doctors and nurses around Jill, she couldn't see what was going on but over by the door was a lot of arguments going on between Trent and David and 2 men in suits Rebecca had never seen before.

"Doctor what's going on?" asked Rebecca grabbing his arm

"Not now Miss Chambers please just stand back" said James moving Rebecca away from the bed. Rebecca couldn't see what was going on and started getting worried. Rebecca felt strong arms wrap round her shoulders, looking round she saw Barry's worried face

"Barry..."

"I dunno kid, they won't tell me anything either. All i know is those guys in the suits are bad news"

As if out of nowhere Barry and Rebecca saw the rest of their team charge up to the room. Chris and Leon taking down the 2 men in suits, as the men wrestled in the hallway Claire ran into the room.

"Hows Jill" Claire asked as they saw staff take away blooded tubs, sheets and towels. Rebecca gasped and went to run towards Jill's bed only to be held back by Claire and Barry, Rebecca tried to fight to get away from them as the doctors still worked on Jill.

"Come on Rebecca you don't need to see this" said Barry and he and Claire dragged Rebecca out of the room and down the corridor.

Jill's Room - 6:10

Jill was perfectly aware what was going on around about her. Her eyes wide open looking around at the doctors and nurses running around her. She remembered waking up coughing and choking, doctors coming in and pulling the tubes out and turning onto her side letting the blood flow out of her mouth. She was finding it hard to breath without the tubs keeping her pipes open. She fought through it and tried to steady her breathing. After what seemed like forever Jill's coughing fit subsided.

"Drrii...Dri.."

"Jill? What do you need?"

"Dddrrinkk" Jill stuttered out

"Alice go get a cup of water quick"

Jill squirmed with pain in her stomach grabbing James by the shirt and pushing him away and pushing at other medical staff. Jill didn't trust them, she had convinced herself they were keeping her ill. Remembering what Ada said to her about spies being everywhere. Jill bit her lip through the pain and with one quick motion she found the energy to push herself through towards an un expecting security guard grabbing his gun.

"Jill no!" yelled Chris still on top of one of the suited men, Rebecca trying to fight off Barry and Claire. Coming towards her was David, Trent and Ark. Jill looked around her, everything looked like it was in slow motion

"Shut up everyone" Yelled Jill aggressively falling to the floor and pointing the gun to the men coming towards her "Stay back"

"Jill don't be stupid, put the gun down, you're already in too deep as it is" said David

"What's that supposed to mean?" Jill asked using one hand to press against her abdomen.

"It means a warrant for your arrest for your dads assault and for working with Wesker and Ada" responded David.

Jill shook her head and let out a laugh "They were right, your all knee deep in their blood money"

"What are you talking about?" asked David

"Come on David, the camera they had on me? It was 2 way. I could hear everything you guys said. How much did they pay you David? Huh? How much does someone pay for betrayal?"

"You have no idea what your talking about Jill. Put the gun down and let the doctors and us help you"

Jill sat for a moment rubbing her head and looking at all the shocked, speechless faces around her. Struggling to her feet still pointing the gun

" I had a visitor during the night.. "

"Yes you did Miss Valentine, it was me" said a brown hair woman walking towards the room, dressed in a short black skirt, white shirt and black leather jacket with a pair of glasses "do you remember what i said?" the woman asked as Jill fell to her knees coughing up some more blood.

"Yeah i do. If it's true or not, i don't know"

"Well, you now have a choice to make. You come with me, you stay here or you go it alone, in my opinion though, going it alone doesn't look like an option, you have to decide who you are going to trust to help you. We all have something to gain from this, we are all scientists. If people like it or not, this virus is alive and it's not going anywhere. We done some research Jill from files in our archive. You are unique, most subjects would be dead by now, but look at you, your finding strength from somewhere. Where do you think that's coming from?" the woman asked looking at Jill

Jill kneeled down and pressed her hand against her abdomen, she's right, the pains aren't coming as much although still painful

"That's right, it's in you. The virus is growing inside your womb, it's not killing you like everyone else, it's growing. There was 1 other that overcame the insemination very well. Me. Like you i was infected via a parasite, it seems the frozen fluids they took from the nemesis subject, once inseminated into the womb and merging with the virus already contained in the body the mother is the perfect host for a special little child like no other"

The woman kneeled down next to Jill

"You have 2 options. You can give birth to an extraordinary baby, who will have more power than anyone or to stop all this with surgery the baby can be removed. You should know Miss Valentine, regardless of the choice you make this baby will be born, you body will always have this virus running through you, it will lay dormant but will come alive at any time. Research shows that the baby will be as healthy as a new born human being. The child will have a choice like everyone else, good or evil"

The woman looked around at all the faces listening intently. Looking over to the door a small child made her way towards Jill and the woman. The woman smiled at the young girl. Jill looked at the little girl holding the hand of her mother wondering how this little child could be the offspring of a monster. The samples were taken from his human form. Jill shook her head trying to absorb the information she had just been told.

"I dunno what to do" said Jill sitting on the floor and dropping the gun looking defeated.

Rebecca broke free eventually from Barry and Claire and ran over to Jill, wrapping her arms around her holding her close.

Nobody knew what to say as the floor fell silent, each to there own thoughts.
