"I would have followed you to the very flames of Mordor," the Man spoke honestly, holding Frodo's small hands in his own.
Frodo smiled, admiring the resolve and strong grasp of his friend, "Then you understand... why I must go."
Aragorn hung his head in slight reverence from his kneeling posture, "That I do, my Halfling."
"Don't sound so... so very sad, Aragorn," Frodo placed a hand on the Man's dirty head, rubbing his hair, "We mustn't give up any hope."
Aragorn looked up and nodded.
"Please..." Frodo glanced around at their quiet surroundings briefly, "Take care of them for me... especially Sam."
"Anything."
"Thank you, Aragorn," the Hobbit leaned forward to wrap his arms around the Man's neck, "You've been..." He trailed off, eyes filling with tears.
"Frodo," Aragorn tightened his grip, holding the Hobbit's dark head of hair to his neck, "You must leave quickly now- I hear the Ork coming... They are not far away."
He nodded, pulling away. Smiling sadly, he laid his lips against those of the loyal Man, "You've been very dear to me."
The man stood, drawing his sword for battle, "And you to I, my Halfling."
Then, they parted, both to fiercely fight their battles, in hopes of one day meeting again.
