As he moved towards her, where the light shone, she finally saw his eyes - and surprise flooded through her as her heart skipped a beat.

The moment she realized he was playing a very cruel game on her, she let her arms slacken; he stepped once more and stopped abruptly.

He stared into her dark, shocked eyes. "That was longer than a heartbeat."

"Jim..." Her mind nearly collapsed - she was just about to kill him! Tears filled her eyes as she dropped her weapon. It had barely hit the floor by the time she had her arms around her, and their lips were touching faster than a-

His heart was beating frantically in his chest; she could feel it, being this close to him. She was sure hers was doing the same.

As she broke the kiss off to sob, Jim whispered to her, over and over again between kisses, that "it's not all fucked... We're gonna be okay... It's not all fucked..."
