It can't be...can it?

His, eyes, his face, hair, such striking features...and that uniform...

He had on the same uniform before he left me......

Placing down the basket of fresh roses beside her, Aeris carefully crawled closer to the mysterious unconscious man lying on her flowerbed. She looked and there was a huge schism in the roof. Wood sprawled all around her and some on around the man's body. She nervously brought her hand to his chest and gently brushed them away. Her fingers began to shake as she moved them towards his face. Her heart raced rapidly as she took a closer look at him.

she found herself whispering to no one in particular. Did you really come back to me Zack...?

She locked her emerald eyes on the unsheathed sword next to her basket. The deadly weapon spanned almost to the height of its owner. Aeris felt hot tears starting to sting her eyes. She hastily wiped them away when they trickled down.

Zack...it has to be you Zack. After all these years...you finally came back to me.

She pressed forward, closing in the gap between her and Zack'. Her eyes fluttered shut as she placed her rosy lips upon the Soldier's but something felt wrong

Something felt very wrong.

She did not feel the warm tingling sensation she usually felt when Zack would pull her into his arms and playfully pinch her cheeks before he leaned down and surprised her with a quick, yet passionate kiss. Her heart would soar and her body would relax. All her problems, stress, Shinra, everything...they would just disappear, leaving her locked in heaven.

No, she did not feel anything at all. She felt empty, cold, barren. The sensation was foreign to her. It was strange. It was not Zack.

The flower girl began to back away and opened her brilliant emerald eyes. The tears have ceased, no longer clouding her vision. She let out a small gasp of shock when she looked at the man in front of her again. He had blonde hair with shorter spikes, which was much different from Zack's raven shaggy ones. He seemed a bit shorter than Zack as well. Before she could analyze more, she heard a low groan escaping from his lips.

His eyes were slightly opened although she doubted he could bring anything into focus but it was then, she caught a glimpse of radiant sapphire, not emerald.

It's really...not Zack...

Aeris shook her had. She had been dreaming all this time, thinking that Zack would come back to her. She waited, waited all those years, trying to find out anything, anything at all.

But all I got was more disappointment...

She recieved no news at all about him after he left her to join Shinra. He was never in the papers and there was not a single letter sent to her. He promised her he would write to her whenever he had time but she never heard his words, his thoughts.

I knew it was too good to be true.

The increasing groans brought her back to reality.

It looks like he's in so much pain...

Healing wind... she whispered softly. A cool breezed whipped past her and embraced the Soldier. She watched the magic being absorbed into his flesh. Some of his small wounds healed instantly and his muscles no longer tensed. He rolled his head back and muttered something incoherent.

Hello? Hello? Aeris repeated, hoping to win a response.

Finally, his eyes shot open and she was met by the most beautiful pair of icy blue orbs.

Mako infused orbs.

Author's Notes: I know, this is really short but the idea just came to me out of no where and I always thought she must have thought of Zack when Cloud fell through the roof so this is just my interpretation. Thank you for reading everything and please drop a review.
