A king stands by the city gate.
A mounted party approaches.
The king's heart is full of joy
For soon his love will be at his side.

A maiden rides forward eagerly,
Leaving the rest of the party behind.
The king runs forward
And the maid alights.

The maiden's brothers step forward to greet her.
The rest of the party approaches.
They all go through the city
To the palace garden.

The king remembers his earlier years.
He's been a youth in love,
And a lonely, northern ranger.
Now his ev'ry dream comes true.
The maiden says her wedding vow.
The king responds with his.
The city cheers with joy for them-
Arwen and King Elessar.
