Now to the story!

Entry 15 What's in a name?

Dear Diary.

I cannot even begin to explain the combined amazingness, weirdness and wonderfulness that was in this day.

Cannot even begin.

But I'll try.

Since I've been shirking my swim lessons with Mad because of the tourney I decided to swim a couple of laps around Island Turtle.

So that started my day.

I then walked around town for a bit and a lot of Monsters congratulated me on getting so far in the tourney.

Humph.

Sexists.

I went home and played chess with Mage.

Then checkers.

Then backgammon.

Then Monopoly. (A/N I do not own Monopoly™)

Now there is a game I can win at.

Though the checkers match was close too.

I was red and there were six black pieces kinged on my side of the board.

That's good right?

Anyway after the Monopoly game Mage got up and said that he was going out.

I told him to wait up and I would come with him.

He said no and hurriedly rushed out the door.

Now I don't know about you but I got slightly suspicious and decided to follow him.

Mage was going into the shadier section of town.

Not exactly a red-light area but a place with a few more bars than necessary.

He looked around and casually stepped into a bar called The Pirate's Treasure.

I followed him inside a couple minutes later, trying to be discreet as I possibly could be.

Which, as those of you who know me know, that it is a feat easier said than done.

Much easier.

I found him sitting in a booth with two other Monsters who I couldn't make out.

The air was really smoky and the whole place was pretty dim lighted.

Anywho I sat at a table behind a column and listened really hard.

They must have been talking extremely quietly because I couldn't hear a thing.

Some of the words I made out were "shocked," , " Brilliant," and "Your smarter than you look, E."

E, E, E, I remember that nickname from somewhere.

Oh well, I'll figure it out later.

Whatever it was Mage was talking about he cleared it up pretty quick.

In about three minutes they all stood up and left.

I waited about thirty seconds before dashing after them.

I needed to get home before mage realized I had left.

Lucky me I know all the shortcuts.

Even with them and running the whole way back I was still winded when Mage walked in the door.

He came in looked at me and asked me if anything was wrong.

I could barely breath, so I shook my head and went into the kitchen to pour myself a drink.

Mage walked and stood behind me for a minute then draped his arms around my neck.

I took another gulp of my water and turned around to face him.

I asked what he wanted, almost certain that my face wasn't flushed just from the run home.

He looked me in the eyes and I crossed my arms.

Well, I asked.

He muttered and looked down, and I told him to speak up.

He looked up at my face and said this.

He pulled me in and kissed me with his hands sliding to my hips.

Now until that point it had always been Mage kissing me and that's that.

But this time.

This time.

I kissed him back.

Only after I told him I was only mortal (not really but it was too good a line to miss) and I had to breath did he let go of me.

He let go of me and stepped back and did I see a blush on his cheeks?

Nah.

So after I downed two more glasses of water and made a few more trips to the little sorceress's room did I actually look at the sundial and see what time it was.

I had about two more hours until Moonrise, when the final match of the tournament actually begun.

I decided to go into my room and try to beat myself at chess, checkers, backgammon, and Monopoly, in that order.

I won at chess, decided to skip checkers and went on to cream myself in Backgammon and Monopoly.

Then since I had then decided I was on a roll resolved to try my hands at checkers; again.

It was pretty sad.

I kinda locked myself into a corner with both of the colors at the same time.

So I lost.

And I was doing so good too.

I think.

By that time I had about forty-five minutes to get to the stadium.

I went downstairs, grabbed my wand and went.

At the stadium I was immediately ushered into a trailer for costume and makeup.

This is a tournament not a beauty contest.

I got one look in the mirror and decided I looked pretty good.

My skirt was slightly shorter and instead of the pink and blue look I had a dark purple, that was more reddish than blue, and azure color scheme.

I didn't have on any makeup other than a delicate layer of slightly-darker than natural lipstick.

The artistes had also found a way to change my wand to match my outfit.

The hat still sucked though.

Then it was time.

The big moment.

I peeked out from behind the archway and couldn't see a thing.

It was so bright the only thing I could make out was the ring.

I was so nervous.

I took a deep breath tightened my grip on my wand and walked out.

As soon as I reached the edge of the arena I saw Mage on the other side looking extremely nonchalant.

I heard the announcer.

"From the East Division, a renowned spellcaster with a clever card hidden up his sleeve at all times, the amazing, the astonishing Dark Magician!"

Mage stepped up and waved smiling slightly.

What a ham.

"And now from the West Division, a flying fairy that packs a punch, the dangerous, the perilous, the beautiful, Pixie Knight!"

I was speechless.

I didn't move.

Mage shook his head went over to the announcer and told him my real name.

He blushed and made up something about a technical malfunction before introducing me.

I stepped up and glared at him.

The announcer looked away then instructed us to come to the center and bow.

Mage and I walked up and looked each other in the eye.

I smiled and a corner of his mouth twitched.

The announcer ringed a bell signaling the beginning of the match.

Neither of us moved.

Then Mage winked and stepped forward.

I was immediately on the offensive.

He took a few more steps.

By this time he was so close I could feel his body heat.

His arms snaked around my waist and I was shocked for a few seconds.

The crowed gasped.

Only a few.

I tried to wriggle out of his grasp trying to explain that this was a tournament not a gentleman's club.

He smiled.

So, he said.

"So there are people here"

"So?"

"That see us"

"So?"

I was getting desperate.

I told him to do something or I would hex him.

I should have remembered that incident in the kitchen.

He tightened his grip pulled me in and kissed me.

The crowd gasped.

I had no clue what was happening.

I was in a stadium.

Surrounded with people.

Having an obnoxious commentator describing my every move.

I was blown.

So I did the only obvious thing.

I tucked my wand into my belt and kissed him back.

After a while Mage pulled away and asked if I wanted to leave.

I looked at him.

The announcer.

Then at him.

One more kiss, I whispered.

He smiled and gave it to me.

Then he somehow conjured his wand, floated us onto it, and made it fly out of the stadium.

Never breaking the kiss and amid collective gasps from the assembly.

Wow.

Talk about a perfect exit.

We got home and changed.

In our separate rooms.

Conjured some out-of-dimension technology to watch a DVD.

I wanted to watch Titanic. (A/N Which I don't own)

He wanted to watch Charlie's Angels. (A/N Which I also don't own.)

We watched Titanic.

It was fun.

In a romantic-tragedy-teenager-mind frame type of way.

So after the movie we said goodnight and went to bed.

In our separate rooms.

Damn.

So here I am sitting in my bed writing this.

And you know what.

I think I found my perfect name.

Dark Magicians Girl.

End of Story

Uh

Yeah.

The End?

Oh Wait!

In the following page(s) I have included the Epilogue for you reading pleasure

Yeah.

Epilouge

Dear diary.

Today seemed like the end of something though I don't know what.

Weird huh?

Well today I learned that we didn't win the tournament.

I wasn't expecting too.

But it would have been nice.

Guess who did win.

Kuriboh.

Yeah the fuzztail.

Jeez I though the runner up would win or something.

But anyway it turns out that when Fly was disqualified for cheating shortly after our match all of the previous batlles were null and void.

So Fuzzy Bear convinced the judges that since he had was the last person defeated by Fly and since that battle didn't count he was technically undefeated.

So guess what?

Fuzztail won.

Go figure.

Yeah.

Well Mage and I are officially an Item.

Though I think you might have guessed that.

And about the bar.

Turns out Edge, Flame, and Mage had conspired the whole end of the tourney exit.

That cleared up a few things

I almost forgot!

Neo found his way home.

(Damn.)

Oh and he started going after Red Archery Girl

Hope they have fun.

And as for Pix.

She's still in last month.

Till later
