There is something definitely screwy going on with this site, it hasn't emailed me any reviews in days, and it hasn't displayed them either! But I know there are some there! It just won't show me. Grr.

Well anyway, I hope no one flamed me or said anything important after the last chapter of Creep or in Planetarium Chemistry, cos I can't make any comments about them.

Ok, now with this story, it's a little different, and I KNOW some of you are gonna hate Michael to begin with, but you just have to trust me and KEEP READING.

It starts out just before Mia finds out she's a princess, so it goes through the first book, and some of the second book, but I don't think it goes into the third one at all... But then again, maybe it does. I don't remember.

Michael is best friends with Josh, and Mia is infatuated with Michael, not Josh. So lets see how Michael deals with it shall we...

It's called "Pretty Woman" but no one will be singing this song like in Creep, it's purely cos I thought of the idea for it when I was at work and this song came on the speakers.

Disclaimer: Meg Cabot owns everyone.

Michael pushed his way through the cafeteria line, he was hungry and shouldn't have to wait even two minutes in line.

"Hey!" someone behind him objected.

He turned around to face his little sisters annoying best friend.

"Oh, hi, Michael!" she said, clearly not annoyed now she knew it was him.

"Whatever," Michael replied, turning back around and grabbing his lunch.

"I'll, uh, talk to you later then," Mia called out after him as he walked over to the table he usually sat at.

"Dude," Michael's best friend Josh said to him as he sat down. "That chick has it bad for you."

"Who? Mia? No way," Michael denied, biting into his corn dog. "She's just Lilly's annoying best friend."

"No, he's right," Josh's girlfriend Lana spoke up. "I've heard her talking about you in class. It's not good, Michael. You should just tell her she doesn't have a chance and let her move on. It's not good for your image to have a scrawny Freshman chasing after you."

"You're one to talk," Michael thought but didn't say. Lana is a Freshman too, and if it wasn't for the fact that she's a cheerleader that Josh had already dated every second girl in the rest of the school, she'd have no chance with Josh either. She'd be in the same boat as Mia.

"Mmm... I dunno. I mean, she's annoying and all, but she's my sisters best friend... I guess you're right though," Michael agreed finally.

"Yeah, I'm right!" Josh high-fived Michael over the table.

"Oh my God, Lilly, your brother is so cute!" Mia said, sitting down next to her best friend Lilly and their new friend Tina.

"Please," Lilly retorted. "What did he say this time? "Get the hell out of my way"? My brother is a jerk, Mia, the sooner you realise that, the better."

"You're wrong, Lil. You just don't see him the way I do..."

"And that's a good thing because that would be gross!" Lilly interrupted her.

"You know what I mean."

"I think he's pretty cute, Mia," Tina piped up.

"Thanks, Tina. At least someone here doesn't think I'm completly out of my mind."

"Ha! Yeah... ok," Lilly said.

Mia just glared at her in response, then turned her attention to Michael, sitting on the other side of the caf.

Later that night, Mia was looking through the Moscovitz's video cabinet for 'Dirty Dancing'. But either she was blind, or it wasn't here.

"Lil, I can't find it!" Mia called out to Lilly, who was in the kitchen popping popcorn.

"Hang on, I'll be there in a sec!" she called back.

Mia often spent the night at the Moscovitz's apartment, especially since she found out about being a princess. Even on school nights.

She slumped back on the couch and waited for Lilly to come back in with the popcorn, so she could find the movie.

A second later the front door opened and Michael walked in.

"Hi, Michael!" Mia sat up and enthusiastically greeted him.

"Uh, hi," Michael said quickly before rushing past her in the direction of his room.

Then he suddenly stopped and turned to face her, "Mia, can I talk to you for a second?" he asked.

Mia's heartbeat increased rapidly at the thought that Michael Moscovitz voluntarily wanted to talk to her. She barely even managed to nod a response.

"It's just... about you and me," Michael started, leaning over the back of the couch so that he was just inches from her face.

"Yes?" she encouraged him, gulping at the words, 'you and me'.

"Well..." he continued, but was interrupted by Lilly's shrill voice.

"Michael! Get out of here! We're trying to watch a movie!" she cried.

Mia glared at her friend as Michael retreated to his room, after muttering an "I'll talk to you about it later," to her.

"Lilly!" Mia cried as soon as Michael's door was safely shut.

"What?"

"He was trying to tell me something important!" Mia said.

"Important? Please, the only thing Michael considers important is his popularity. Believe me, whatever he was saying wasn't important, or else it didn't concern you."

"But he said he wanted to talk about 'you and me'. As in me and Michael! Lilly, I think he was going to ask me to the Cultural Diversity Dance!"

"Ha! That'll be the day. Besides, he is already going with some bimbo Senior."

Mia was a little hurt by Lilly's insensitivity and demenor, but she let it go. She knew she was right. Or at least she hoped she was. That was all that mattered. Not what Lilly thought, and not that fact that Michael was going to the dance with someone else. Maybe he'd changed his mind. Maybe he'd looked into her soul and seen the real Mia.

She and Michael would continue their conversation later, and confirm it all for her, she was sure of it.

"So where's the movie?" Lilly asked.

But Mia didn't hear her. She was busy imagining Michael asking her to the dance.

"Mia," he say, in a deep, husky voice. "You are the girl for me. I knew it the first time I saw you. You are the Jennifer Grey to my Patrick Swayze. You are the Belle to my Beast. You complete me. Would you care to accompany me to the Cultural Diversity Dance?"

"Oh, Michael!" she'd reply. "I always knew you felt this way, deep down. I would be delighted to accompany you to the school dance. You are..."

"Mia!" Lilly snapped her out of her fantasy.

"What?" she replied irrited.

"What were you thinking about?" Lilly asked, shooting Mia a questioning look.

"...Nothing..." Mia replied with a smile she just couldn't help.

"Whatever. Let's just find the movie."

Please don't flame, Michael will get worse before he gets better, but he WILL get better. Just enjoy this as a different side of the Michael we all know and love.
