Wild Child

Wild Child

A/N: I've left a good bit of the song out, because it would be kind of difficult to think of soliloquies for da-da-da and repetition. But the main body of the song is there. It's from Enya's new album - A Day Without Rain.

Rose's POV. It could be any time, I think. It jumps a great deal.

Ever close your eyes

Ever stop and listen

Ever feel alive

And there's nothing missing

You don't need a reason

Let the day go on and on

Close your eyes. Rest. Listen for the good things, for happiness. You've never felt properly alive since…since I died, I know. You think a part of you has died with it. It hasn't. It's alive, because I'm alive.

Not in body, of course. In spirit. You know that much, at least. That there are some things that can never die, and our love is one of them.

Let the rain fall down

Everywhere around you

Give into it now

Let the day surround you

You don't need a reason

Let the rain go on and on

The rain should cool you down, it sheds the tears you want to cry. It's almost a storm, it's teeming down, as they say.

Give in to grief. No good ever came of bottling things up. Live for the day, for the moment, and you'll find happiness again.

There's no reason, I suppose. But you don't need one. Just let things go on as they come.

What a day

What a day to take to

What a way

What a way

To make it through

What a day

What a day to take to

A wild child

It wasn't love at first sight, you know. Well - if I'd searched deep down inside myself, I'd probably have found out. But I didn't. The first time I knew how much I really valued you was when you fought that Wakka Gawtrybe leader. We were chased, you were injured. You said you'd hold them off, and I wouldn't let you.

But I knew that I loved you forever and beyond that fateful day. The morning. What a day to love you! What a way for love to make it's way through so that it was first and foremost! What a day to love a warrior born!

Only take the time

From the helter skelter

Every day you find

Everything's in kilter

You don't need a reason

Let the day go on and on

Leave the life you've been living, where things fly thick and fast at you. You've gone into battle with the Bloodwrath protecting you - like in Marshank - but you've hated it, really.

Every day you've found it all confusing, unhappy. You don't know why, but…you don't need a reason. Let your day go on and on, instead of it being too short.

Every summer sun

Every winter evening

Every spring to come

Every autumn leaving

You don't need a reason

Let it all go on and on

All summer you fought on our behalf. In the winter evenings you've sat and watched others laughing and talking. On those frequent times when you've sat alone, you've stared into the fire, watching the flames dance. In spring, you've wept with the dew and rain, and you know you'll do it in every spring to come. All the autumns you've left behind, you've mourned, watching the leaves.

What a day

What a day to take to
