Breaking the Rules


One time you're walking,
Like you do everyday,
Going about your business,
The same in every way.

Till one day everything changes,
Because of one thing new,
You start to feel things,
Through and through.

Your heart seems to stop,
And your legs slightly quiver,
This new feeling,
Starts to make you shiver.

Staring at an angel,
Feeling different then before,
Feeling love for the first time,
Making your heart soar.

Feeling unworthy of her presence,
Loving the smile on her face,
Breathing becomes harder,
As your heart starts to race.

This bright angel,
The one that you see,
You know is for you,
But it cannot be.

Even though,
Your heart's filled with love,
You're from the ground,
She's from above.

Even though it's meant to be,
It just can't be that way,
But you shall break the rule,
Hopefully someday.

You've gone though so much,
And you care for each other,
But you both know,
That you can't be together.

After all the hardships are done,
Your adventures come to a halt,
You lock away your emotions,
Away in a vault.


You run to your angel,
As she slowly departs for the sky,
Seeing her smiling down,
As her lips whisper, "Good-bye..."

Reality hits you as you walk away
Silently looking around,
You've forgotten that she's from the sky,
And you're from the ground.

A ceremony is held,
At your angel's gate,
You arrive there,
Not a moment too late.

You don't see her,
But she sees you,
Rushing out of the castle,
Almost pushing her way through.

Running towards you,
With tears in her eyes,
Leaping into your arms,
As time slowly flies.

Holding her closer,
While caressing her face,
Staring at her radiant beauty,
And her elegant grace.

Bringing her closer,
As you give her a soft kiss,
Thinking of all the things you have now,
And almost did miss.

The rules of separation,
You finally did break,
Reaching out for your angel,
Your love you did take.

By breaking the rules,
And making them bend,
You're now with your angel,
Forever, until the end...
