"Hello." he said to her, the next day, very dumb and silly-sounding. She raised one eyebrow.
"Hello."
"I sat next to you, yesterday, during the Transfiguration exam."
"I know." She had answered very quickly, and blushed.
"I know," she repeated. "I have noticed you."
"I know." Now, Remus blushed too. What was he expected to do? Well… he guessed James and Sirius would know what to do… But this was him… And this girl wasn't like the others, those giggling creatures, like that nice, merry, but, well… giggling Lily Evans that was James's girlfriend. This girl was something else. What- was- he- supposed- to –do? The silence started to become painful. Ask her out, maybe?
"I was wondering… would you like to take a walk with me, this evening?"
Remus could have slapped himself, especially when he saw the smile on her lips.
"I am sorry, but no."
"W-why?"
Why, oh god, as if he still had to ask that!
"Because I do not know you. Maybe- a next time. Later…" she answered vaguely, but strange enough, she did not sound angry.
She turned away from him.
"Simonetta?"
Her fair-haired, black-eyed friend came over to her.
"Are you coming with me to the library?"
The girl nodded, and they walked away.
