A/N: Yay! I'm back, bouncing from fandom to fandom. I grace Hikaru no Go with my first ever shonen-ai piece. This was originally written for the Hikaru no Go forum I joined but I'm sure you guys want to read it too, right? ^_^

This is fic number 2 in the Gazing series, the first being a Shaman King Yoh/Anna piece. Instead of continuing that previous one-shot, I've decided to just make a series of one-shots for various pairings that I adore, therefore, Hika/Aki it is! ^_^

Midnight air comes still and hollow,

The moon reigns with traces of sorrow,

Thinking of the waning light follow,

Residents enter day with fresh tomorrow.

"Mrrgh…."

A pair of eyelids opened to reveal intense green orbs slightly fogged up with sleep.

Touya Akira drifted in to consciences-ness in the middle of the night without a single notion of why. Giving the clock a glance, his brain registered that it was only three twenty-five in the morning. Deciding that he was too awake to fall back asleep at the moment he tried to get out of bed. The key word was 'tried' because as soon as he made a movement to leave, he found a pair of arms tighten their hold around him. He had forgotten that when Hikaru has something, he doesn't let go of it very easily.

The little fact brought simple joy to his heart.

Akira glanced out the window of his room, their room, and caught sight of a glorious full moon.  Turning his gaze back to the beautiful boy who was currently curled around him, he smiled. Gently unbinding himself, being careful not to disturb Hikaru's sleep, the young pro slipped in to a bathrobe and silently walked out of the bedroom and closed the door softly behind him.

He pattered onto the back porch that looked out into a spacious backyard complete with a koi pond. Sitting down cautiously the quiet boy turned his gaze up to meet the brilliant full moon and its alluring glow.

The full moon was both beautiful and cold; the kind of beauty that flaunts itself in one's face and frustrates the person to death because it was unattainable. The moon had beauty abundant, but it didn't have a heart and never felt the warmth of love.

Touya Akira pitied the moon.

'For all it's beauty, the moon is a lonely being.' Akira mused. Then he thought of how utterly close he came to joining the moon's cold ranks.

"If it wasn't for Shindo…"

"What about me?" a voice answered as arms encircled the musing boy's slim form.

Startled, Akira replies with "Nothing, I was just thinking out loud to myself." A slightly suspicious glace later, "Why are you up?"

"I felt you move and leave. My subconscious wouldn't let me rest after that." The explanation was punctured with a nuzzle.

"Wow! The moon is big tonight! Were you looking at the moon Touya?"

"Yes, it's very beautiful."

"It's not the only thing that is beautiful in this garden" said Hikaru with a smile.

Akira graced that comment with a light blush.

"Come, let's go back to sleep. It's cold here and you deserve to be warm."
