I kissed him.
I still can't believe I actually did it. I don't actually think I planned it; it was just one of those things…
I waited for him all during Gryffindor's practice, then when he went to the broom shed I decided to go for it. I cornered him, really I kind of threw him against the wall, but I didn't want to give anything time to go wrong.
And I kissed him.
The whole time, I was really hoping he wasn't going to hex me with something Granger had taught him. But when I stepped back, he had this dazed look on his face. He kept blinking like maybe he thought I was a hallucination or something.
Before he had a chance to say anything I had darted out the door. Yes, a Malfoy ran away. But would you have stuck around? Admit it, you would've run too.
On my way back to the castle, I licked my lips--I could still taste him, a bitter aftertaste lingering in my mouth. Not that it was unpleasant…
It reminded me of the time I tried some of Father's best cognac. I wonder if Harry knows he tastes like that…
I'll admit the second time I did plan it.
I owled him a note one morning at breakfast:
Meet me-trophy room. 2.
He stuck the note in his pocket like it was nothing even though the Weasel was practically begging him to tell what it said. When no one was looking he looked over at me and I knew I would be seeing him…
I only hoped it would be for the reason I hoped and not his excuse to curse me to Bulgaria for kissing him the first time.
He came.
And he didn't curse me.
So I kissed him again. He didn't seem to mind-but then I said something…something I definitely not planned to say:
"I think I love you Harry"
I didn't even call him Potter.
God why did I say that?
But he didn't laugh. He didn't punch me in the face either (which was a possibility, he's a lot tougher than he looks).
In fact, he did something that I never expected…
He kissed me back.
I felt like my skin was on fire. The cold glass of the trophy case suddenly felt good. His fingers dug into my back but I didn't really feel anything other than his mouth on mine.
Everything was swirling together…green eyes, raven hair, hot breath, slick skin, sweat…
I had almost forgotten we were in the trophy room, forgot we were even in the school.
But suddenly something swished against my leg.
We both looked down-it was Filch's damn cat! Filch would be following close behind her.
There are times I really wish some curses weren't Unforgivable. But if looks alone could kill, Mrs. Norris would've been stone dead, and not just because of me either.
The two of us let go of each other reluctantly…
He gave me a wistful look and turned towards Gryffindor tower. I had to take a deep breath before I could head back to Slytherin.
Next time we won't be interrupted by some cat or anything else for that matter. Next time we'll finish what we started.
Once, twice, three times he's mine.
