"Quite alright." The new Doctor grinned confidently at his companions as he picked himself up off the floor. "This always happens when I have an accident."
It was always uncomfortable facing his friends after a regeneration, but this time it was even more disconcerting the way his companions stared at him. Sam was looking at him in astonished horror, and Fitz with amazement and with an expression he vaguely recalled being directed at him by young women he'd had occasion to meet in his last body. Oh well, they'd get used to it - and this body seemed like it would work quiet well. Small, streamlined, young...perfect for running around spaceships having adventures.
"Doctor..." Sam blurted out. "It's...you've..."
"Changed, yes, I know. Just another regeneration. It's nothing to worry about."
"Doctor." Fitz stated bluntly. "Look down."
The Doctor did so. And blinked.
"I say," The Doctor said as she looked at her new pair of breasts, "I've never had those before."
