Title: The Slytherin Rules.
Author: Mackay
Rating: PG-13, possible rating change in later chapters.
Pairing: Umm, eventual Draco/Hermione. But there's a lot of...everything.
Author's Notes: This is so incredibly AU, but I wanted to do it so here's my shot at a summary and how it all began...sort of. This may be a piece of crap as I have never attempted to write HP fic before, but I have written fic before, so let's see how this goes. And don't hesitate to tell me.
Summary: Incredibly AU. In Which Hermione is Pureblood, Ron betrays his family, Harry is not an orphan and Draco has grown without a father. Oh, and Voldy? He's gone. But more on that later...
Prologue
The Great Hall was abuzz with the chatter of as new school year. The students were ready and awaiting the newest onslaught of first years whom this year contained many faces familiar to the wizarding world.
The eleven year-olds marched in with a cocky looking Harry Potter at the front of the line. He smiled widely as McGonagall told them about the sorting process, and he turned to smile at the one whose name was called first after the hat finished it's song.
Hermione Granger.
She sat upright on the stool for the school to see while the Sorting hat quickly whispered things in her ear that both stunned and pleased her. It mused for quite a while, mentioning power and great things.
Everyone let out a great cheer, save the Gryffindors who looked at the pureblood with longing.
Draco Malfoy quickly followed suit as his name was called and he was immediately sorted into Slytherin. Following him, two additional purebloods were called to sit on the stool - Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle - however they were sorted into Hufflepuff and Draco's eyes widened as he realized that he was now without his best friends.
Ronald Weasley. McGonagall's voice rang out and he swallowed visibly as he carefully approached the hat.
I sense something in you.' it whispered once on his head. Another Weasley. It would make sense to send you to Gryffindor, wouldn't it?' Ron sighed in relief, the rest of his family had all been in Gryffindor, save his sister who had not yet attended the school. However...' it continued and a bewildered look crossed Ron's face.
His face paled and those from Gryffindor who had stood to applause looked at him with confusion - primarily those with red hair. He looked around confused and McGonagall nearly had to shove him towards the green table before he would move.
Harry Potter.
The Hall grew silent. He was not simply the Boy who Lived. Harry Potter had grown up in the wizarding world dubbed, the Boy who Saved. He was revered; famous; great.
He quickly made his way to the stool and plunked the sorting hat onto his head. All four houses waited for which of the two outcomes would occur. However, this time, Harry did not carry on a mental debate with the hat, simply listened to it argue with itself with amusement.
All was still.

a/n : I know it seems like I just shoved them all into Slytherin, but everything is balanced eventually and ..well, that's the plot! Tell me what you think.
