Today was supposed to be a beautiful, perfect day. The sun is shinning, birds are singing, and I had encountered no problems. Until It came along. It being the eleven year old human child sitting next to my desk, humming innocently.

"Why me? Valar, WHY ME?!"

"What was that Ada?" Estel asked.

"Nothing." Elrond sighed. His day had went wrong when Estel had asked him "The" question.

-Ten Minutes Ago-

Estel whistled as he quietly pushed open the door to his father's study. "Quiet" was not quite the right word, as elven ears were far better than his own.

Settling himself down on the stool next to the desk, he waited until Elrond acknowledged him.

"Yes Estel?" Elrond put down the quill he was writing with.

"Ada, where do babies come from?"

Elrond's eyes widened slightly, and he blinked.

"Um......." 'Wow, Peredhil, that was very intelligent.' The little voice in the back of his head said.

'Shut it.' He gave the mental "look" towards the voice, and focused his attention on his foster son.

"Um......."

Which brought him to where he was now. How to explain sex to a child.

He decided to start out small.

"You're getting older, Estel."

"Can you say that in front of the twins? I'd like them to hear that from you."

"Let me put it this way, you're getting older *physically*."

"Oh." Estel sighed.

"Right, now, you're getting older. You are going to be experiencing some............changes."

"You mean like when a fawn's spots disappear?" Estel asked.

"Exactly!" Elrond grinned, thinking he wouldn't have to do a lot of explaining.

"But I don't have any spots."

Elrond smacked himself.

"Okay, let's not talk about physical changes. Mental. You're going to be wanting to have a girlfriend possibly-"

"But I already have girl friends!"

"No, I meant...girlfriends.............okay, do you remember when Elladan had sneaked away in the clove of trees with the maiden?"

"Ohhhh........ewwwwwwwww. I don't want to put my tongue in a girls shirt."

Elrond blinked. He hadn't heard THAT part of the story yet. He reminded himself to have a talk with Elladan later.

They were interrupted when the door opened, letting in Glorfindel.

"Glorfindel! My old friend, how are you?" Elrond beamed.

"Um.......just..fine. Uhhh....I'll see you later." Glorfindel decided he didn't like the look in Elrond's eyes.

"Nonsense!" Elrond grabbed Glorfindel by the shoulders, leading him to the desk and pushing him into the chair. "Now, you would say that you are intelligent, are you not?"

"Uh.....I suppose." Glorfindel winced. "Elrond, I really have to-"

"No, you're off today. I have something else for you to do."

'Here it comes. Maybe I'll go find myself a nice big balrog....' Glorfindel looked longingly at the door.

"And that is?"

"You get to teach Estel here an extra lesson."

'Well, that doesn't seem too bad.' Sighing with relief, the blonde elf looked towards the human boy. "Wonderful! What am I teaching him?"

"About reproduction." Elrond said, as the door slammed behind him.

Glorfindel blinked, looking at Estel. 'Oh Valar..............'
