~The Sadness of Her Eyes~
The sadness of her eyes
That, I remember
I lost myself in her embrace
Her eyebrow, gently arched
And sparkling like an ember
I traced my way along the features of her face
She smiled and moaned in recognition
We moved against the beating of her heart
And slowly I had lost my vision
And I could only feel a work of art
She told me that there was no use
I was a fool for having had believed
I traveled to so many places
And yet I haven't ever lived
I always knew that love would hurt me
Love does not bring you happiness, only remorse
And life is but a road of slick, unfinished moments
Oh, what a memorable coarse!
I think I will sit this one out
This dance is way too fast for me
The swift movement of shoes against the pavement
No longer aims to set me free
And when I saw her tear, so vivid
As it crept down against her cheek
I knew for once what heartbreak felt like
Oh, so alone, oh so unique.
The sadness of her eyes
That, I remember
When I strolled through that misty haze
I lost something I never knew I had
All hope of hope of happiness, ablaze.
