"You mean that it really doesn't bother you that I turn into a pig
when I get splashed with cold water?"
"Ryoga, honey, how can you even ask that?"
Ryoga looked at the floor as he nervously poked the tips of his index fingers together.
Ukyo gently took his chin in her hand, raising his face so she could look him in the eye and, with a soft look on her face said, "Ryoga . . . " The way she said his name just sent shivers down his spine. He had no idea that something so simple as someone saying his name could have such a huge affect on him. " . . . of course it doesn't bother me that you turn into a pig. You're actually pretty cute that way! Besides, think about it. I was completely in love with Ranma for the longest time, even though I knew about his curse . . . he wouldn't turn into a cute little pig, he would turn into a loud-mouthed girl . . . a GIRL . . . "
The girl did have a point, Ryoga did have to admit that. It was all too easy. This couldn't really be happening; not to him, anyway. He was Ryoga Hibiki and love never came to him easily and definitely not successfully (unless you counted the numerous times Ranma had fooled him while he was in his female form). To have this girl freely confess her feelings to him was almost too much. It overpowered him and he turned from her just before he started banging his head on the wall.
Ukyo stared in shock for only a moment before she grabbed the silly boy to keep him from seriously hurting himself.
"What are you doing?!?" Ukyo asked.
"Wow . . . it is real," Ryoga said in a dazed fashion that matched the look on his face.
"What are you talking about, Ryoga honey?"
"I have dreams like this all the time. A gorgeous girl will tell me that she has feelings for me. I spend hours with her, having a glorious time and then I wake up." There was a pause. "I didn't wake up," he said slowly. His face began to brighten and he repeated himself, only in a more upbeat fashion. He took Ukyo by the hands as he quickly stood and swung her around in circles as he danced around the room.
"Ukyo!" he said suddenly, his merry jigging coming to an abrupt halt. "Do you know what this means?!?! I'm not a lost boy anymore!"
Ukyo regarded him with a suspicious glance.
"Just listen. All my life I've been lost in almost every sense of the word. I never really had a family, a home, friends, and definitely not a . . . . . . . . "
Ukyo smiled and finished for him, "A girlfriend?"
He nodded, a small smile adorning his features. He suddenly took Ukyo into a huge embrace. She was a little startled at first, but she stopped struggling when she noticed how close their faces were.
"Ukyo, I don't think you know what you just did for me."
"What did I do?" Ukyo asked, perplexed.
"More than I ever dreamed could possibly be done for me," he said and kissed her.
"Ryoga, honey, how can you even ask that?"
