It was dark in the Village hidden in the Leaf. The Village was in ruins. Just a few hours prior the feared nine-tailed fox laid waste to the village. If it wouldn't have been for the efforts of the late Yondaime Hokage, Minato Namikaze, the village most certainly would have been destroyed. Sadly this heroic act demanded a sacrifice, but it changed the course of history throughout the elemental nations.

Hokage Office

The office of the hokage wasn't empty. There were two people inside of it. The first was Hiruzen Sarutobi, the retired Sandaime Hokage of Konoha and famed professor. He was a man in his late 50s, shorter than the average male and could be mistaken as your typical grandfather. But his appearance was deceiving. This man was known as the God of Shinobi, trained by Tobirama Senju and a man that led Konoha through 2 shinobi world wars and made it the strongest hidden village.

The other person was a tall man. Long white hair, which was held back by a headband with an inscription of "oil" in the centre and dressed in a red haori. This was Jiraiya the gallant, known as the toad sage and member of the legendary sannin. He was a student of the Sandaime and in turn trained the Yondaime.

"He looks just like Minato." Jiraiya sadly remarked while gazing onto a sleeping toddler, who laid inside a crip. The baby had sun-kissed, spiky blond hair, three whisker on each cheeks. This was Naruto, son Minato Namikaze and his wife Kushina Uzumaki, godson of Jiraiya and the new jinchuuriki of the Kyubi.

"He really does, doesn't he." The old kage responded. "Poor lad, not only did Minato sacrifice his own blood to be a jinchuuriki, but he is also alone in the world. No parent's to love or guide him."

"He isn't alone. He has me. I'm his godfather, I promised them I would take care of him. Sadly I can't take him with me. It would be to dangerous, but I know someone who will take care of him." Jiraiya said with confidence. "Tsundade will raise him"

"Tsunade?" the old Hokage was suprised. "You think that she would return to the village and raise him?"

"I don't expect her to return, but she will raise him. He is her last family and you know how she adored Kushina. You probably will be reinstated as Hokage Sensei, you can't protect him. It would be to dangerous for him to travel with me, not to mention that I'm not suited to raise a toddler." Jiraiya replied,"If he stays in the village, you will name him an orphan and I'm pretty sure his life will be a nightmare. Tsunade will show him love. You know what Lady Mito said about jnchuuriki."

"They need love in their life. She was a wise woman." Sarutobi replied. He knew that Naruto's life would be of hardships and he couldn't take care of him. He most likely will be reinstated as Hokage and couldn't give Naruto the attention he deserved. His old student Tsunade would be the perfect person to raise him and it would probably help her getting over her demons.

"That she was. Naruto needs protection. He already looks like Minato, people will make the connection. Not to mention that he isn't just Minato's legacy, he is the last male member of both the Senju and Uzumaki Clans. He is Lord Hashiramas heir, his and Lady Mito's great-great-grandson. If he stays in Konoha he will either be a no name orphan, or be treated like god's gift to earth. Tsunade will show him love, makes him humble and the two of us will make him a great shinobi. I own a little cottage near a small village. It's quiet and big enough for Tsunade, her apprentice and Naruto."

"I will grant your plan Jiraiya under the following conditions." Sarutobi replied, "First I want monthly letters about him. Secondly you will visit them at the very least evey two months. The last condition is that he returns for the last year in the academy. I want him to form bonds to this village and his graduation class will be very promising."

Jiraiya didn't need to think about the terms his sensei brought up. Naruto would have a great childhood with Tsunade and he would be able to take care of his godson. "Of course sensei." "But I still wonder how you will convince her to take care of him. Kushina asked her to deliver her baby and she refused to return even for that short period of time."

Jiraiya didn't respond and just picked up Naruto. The sudden movement woke up the young toddler and Hiruzen saw how she would be convinced. Naruto smiled at elderly man with his large saphire orbs and looked like the most precious thing in the world. The old man couldn't resist to smile at the young child, who in turn made happy noises. He knew that Tsunade couldn't say no to little Naruto, once she saw him smiling. But he wondered, why is there a small green area around Naruto pupils.

And with that Jiraiya bid his farewell and took little Naruto with him. Searching for Tsunade, who hopefully would take care of Naruto, but he was sure Tsunade couldn't resist his godson.

AN: And that's it for the prologue. I always thought how Naruto would turn out to be, if he was a Senju and to be honest he should have been one in canon. At least in my opinion. This is the first fic so please be merciful with your reviews. I also want to add that englisch isn't my native language, so I apologise for the instances of bad grammar and spelling mistakes.
