First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAI, MY LOVE!

If it was not for Kai, I wouldn't be on this site. Kai's the reason I came here and I'm glad I did. 'Coz I found some awesome people here.

18-year old Kai:

All of their belongings were packed. They just needed to buy some more things. Kai and Tala were moving in to the college dorms so they can live and complete their college together. At first Tala didn't want to continue his studies because they have learned ahead of others in the Abbey. But Kai wanted them to have a good degree from college too so after some pursuing, Tala agreed .

So now They were in the mall, unfortunately. After this mall adventure, they were going straight to their college dorms as the classes started tomorrow. They already had their luggage in the car.

"Come on Kai. This does look good on me!" Tala said exasperated. He had been trying on shirts for some while and Kai didn't like it any of it so far.

"Red is NOT your color, Red. Just try something else." Kai said smirking slowly to which Tala threw him a heated look.

"Fine! Be that way." He changed out of it quickly and began moving towards the exit of the shop. Kai followed him, thinking that he may or may not have pissed his best friend.

He nudged Tala to which he responded with a "What?"

"Are you angry with me?" Kai asked innocently. Kai may be cold toward every other person in the world, but when it came to his best friend he was a as soft as a cute plushie.

"No," Responded Tala but his expression said otherwise.

"Come on! That seriously didn't look good on yo-" when Kai noted Tala's more pissed off expression he immediately added, " It's not your fault. It's the shirt's fault! Yeah, stupid shirt"

Tala at last smiled at his friend's idiotic behavior which also brought a smile on Kai's face.

From that onward, a new adventure for Kai and Tala started.

20-year old Kai:

Tala entered their apartment to see Kai sitting at the windowsill, gazing out at nothing. A dreamy look and a smile was etched on his face. His expressions looked nothing alike the ones in his teens. If someone from their past looked at his glazed face now, they wouldn't believe it was the same Kai.

"Hey what happened to you?" Tala approached him and asked.

When he got no reply, not even an acknowledgement he asked again but the outcome was the same.

"Kai, Kai, Earth to Kai." Still nothing.

"KAI!"

"What... What happened? When did you come in?" He asked hurriedly, "Is everything okay?"

"That should be my question! What happened to you?!" Tala inquired sitting down next to him at the windowsill.

"Nothing." He turned away.

"Wait. Wait a damn minute! Did The great, the oh so great Kai Hiwatari just blush?!"

"Shut up." Kai muttered and blushed harder.

"Who's she?" Tala asked now interested a thousand folds. It was not everyday that you see Kai Hiwatari blushing.

"No one." Kai said wanting to close the matter. He was embarrassed already.

"Oh so maybe it's a he?" Tala laughed when Kai shot him a death glare.

"Come on, tell me. I'm your best friend."

To this Kai caved in, "Her name's Jade. She's-"

"Stop, stop, stop, STOP. Are we talking about The Jade?!" Tala asked bewildered. She was said to be called 'The 'College Beauty'

Kai sighed, "Yes. But don't you dare say anything in front of her."

"Of course I won't."

The next day:

They were walking to their class when Kai froze midstep. Tala looked at Kai and saw him frozen. "Why did you stop?" He questioned but then followed his line of vision. There Jade was walking and coming towards them. Tala's face lit up as an idea hit him.

"Hey Jade!" He shouted whereas Kai elbowed him and stared at him. A flash of recognition passed across her face.

"Hey Tala. How are you?" Her Jade eyes were twinkling while her lush brown hair were in their usual wavy self, resting on her shoulders.

Kai narrowed his eyes at Tala wondering why he didn't know that Tala knew Jade.

"I'm fine. Hey , I don't think you have met my friend." He motioned towards the said who was looking flustered," Kai, this is Jade."

'Like you didn't know already.' Tala thought to himself.

"Jade, Meet Kai. He's good looking, right?"

If looks could kill, Tala would be under six feet by Kai's glare.

"Um yeah sure," Jade blushed and looked a bit uncomfortable but tried not to show it, "Hi Kai. I have heard a lot about you." She extended her hand while Kai stood just staring at her. In truth, she always had a crush on him as growing up. It felt so good to talk to him. It was only when Tala nudged Kai, did he came out of his trance.

He shook her hand and almost died at the smoothness of it, "Hi." Was the only thing that came out of his mouth.

Tala looked amused at his friend's behavior and said to piss him off, " Kai, you go to class. I'll be right there. I have something to talk with Jade. "

The look that Kai shot him could be considered as betrayal and hurt to others but Tala knew better. It said, ' Just you dare come to the apartment, I'll tell you.'

He didn't say anthing and just walked on. While he was walking he heard Tala say to her, " Don't mind him. He's just a bit weird with people. But he is a very good hearted and good looking person, I guaran-"

Night time:

Tala came inside whistling while Kai was there sitting on the couch with his laptop on his lap. When he saw Tala, he stoop up and punched him, hard enough to make him cry out. But not hard enough to leave a bruise.

"Why the fuck did you do that?!"

"Why didn't you tell me you knew Jade?"

At this, Tala started smirking which earned him another punch in the stomach.

"Would you stop punching me, dammit!"

"You bastard! he's good looking , right? What the hell was that?! You just ruined any chance I had with her."

"No I didn't! Didn't you see her blushing? And what the hell was that? You were just there staring at her the way Tyson stares at the food!"

"Shut up." Kai muttered moving to the kitchen and brought him a bag of frozen peas.

Tala pressed it to his face and also sat the couch besides him. "Hey believe me, I'll help you win her over. I have a plan.

Kai's face lit up like it did when he first saw food in his hands, " Really?"

"Yeah, you eager puppy!"

"Really Tala, a puppy?" Kai said exasperated.

The next week:

Kai just came out of his class. He was wringing his hands in nervousness.. Today he was going to ask Jade on a date. This was maybe the first time he was feeling this nervous for something. Tala had told him several times that it will be alright and she will say yes. But it did nothing to sooth his frenzied nerves.

He walked into the library where Tala had reported that Jade was. He started looking out for her and finally saw her sitting there, engrossed in a book.

Kai walked slowly towards her trying to control his nervousness. In his state, he wasn't able to comprehend when his foot collided with her table and he hissed a slight 'omph' and Jade looked up. He could swear his whole world froze at that moment.

Tala who was sitting at a table behind her was laughing at his friend's idiotic behavior.

"Oh hey Kai. Did you need anything?" She asked looking at him with those big Jade eyes of her.

"Yeah. May I sit?" He asked mentioning towards the chair beside her which consisted of her books

"Yeah yeah, sure." She replied and picked her books up from the chair placing it on the table, "So here to make me believe again that you're good looking?" She asked teasingly.

"God no! That was just Tala being Tala." To this, she smiled and Kai's heart stopped for a second.

"Well what he said wasn't wrong, actually." She blushed when she realized what she just said.

Kai was gaining confidence by each second growing. It was just so good to talk to her. He didn't want to waste it even if she shot him down, "So you think I'm good looking?"

"Who doesn't?" Now she smirked at him.

"Oh really? So would you like to go out-" His phone started ringing suddenly and he took it out quickly cursing the person. It was Tala. In his haste to pick up the phone as soon as possible, he pressed the 'speaker' option.

"So did you ask her out yet? Her name was Lila, right?" Was the thing that they both heard when Tala opened his big, fat mouth.

"Shut up, idiot. I'll talk to you later."

"Before or after you guys smooch?" Tala cut the phone call before Kai could curse him out and laughed to himself.

Back at their table, Jade said, "So you here to ask a girl out?"

"Yeah." Kai sent her a sheepish smile.

"So go on, ask her. What are you doing here?" She said urging him to go up to his crush but in her heart there was disappointment. She was hoping he was here for her.

"So will you?"

"Will I what? Mind? No no I won't mind. No no, go on. Don't make her wait for me," Kai smiled at her adorable blabbing.

"No. Will you go out with me?" He asked and her jaw dropped.

She looked here and there and then pointed towards herself, "Me?"

"No, Taylor Swift." He replied sarcastically, " Of course you! "

"But Tala said Lila-"

" He was just teasing you and annoying me . So will you?"

"Yeah sure." She replied still in disbelief, 'Real smooth Jade. Well Done'

'Yes!' Kai thought and smiled at her.

"YASSSS!" Tala shouted from behind them and jumped up from the table while the whole library glared at him.

"You were here the whole time?" Kai asked shaking his head.

"Of course! So sister in law if he ever hurts you, just tell me, okay?" Jade blushed at the 'sister in law' thing but nodded.

"God don't scare her. Tell me why I'm friends with you again?"

"Because I'm amazing."

That's how Kai's relationship with Jade started.

So this is it. I hope you guys like it.

I'll maybe write the 3rd part too. But I finished it where you guys would be satisfied by the ending and not on a cliffhanger. So even if I don't get to write it, it'll be okay.
