Author's note: At OrangeMacawWorld's demand, here's a new LOC story. The first and only one that I published goes back to October 2019, almost a whole year ago! Before beginning, I want to point out that this story takes place after "The Grace of an Eagle", the second season, and before the third one.

With that out of the way, let's get started!

Everything returned to normal after Laval's team managed to find the Legendary Beasts and defeat the Crawler tribes before they could destroy Chima. The tribes who were at each other's throats just a few weeks ago managed to bring back the harmony that made Chima such a beautiful place to live in. The lions protected the Chi pool in their temple, the eagles kept conceiving their gadgets (as well as writing new chapters for history books), the gorillas protected their beloved forests, the crocodiles celebrated the return of their King and Queen, the bears resumed their favorite activity: sleeping, and the ravens once again traded their 'good quality equipment' to everyone in the land.

But things were different for a certain eagle. Ever since her return home, Eris had only one thing, or animal, in her mind: Rogon. Before their departure for the lands outside Chima, she was certain that her romantic feelings were only for Laval. In fact, after her belly dancing performance, she and Laval did grow closer... but only as friends. It was clear that the Lion Prince was only seeing her as his best friend, a title she shared with Gorzan.

Then, there was Rogon. During the Anarchy Race, as it was remembered, the prince of the rhino tribe not-so-subtly expressed special feelings to her. At first, she wasn't sure what he meant, but before the start of their quest, he confirmed her thoughts. Eris always saw Rogon as a good friend, but never considered the possibility of developing romantic feelings for him. The kiss she gave him after his apparent 'death' was mostly to respect his last wishes.

But as they started spending more and more time with each other, she grew up to like the clumsy rhino for who he was. Granted, he wasn't the smartest of their team, but he proved many times that he had as much heart as Laval or Cragger. And he could get pretty smart too... when close to the Legendary Rhino.

When they confronted the spider tribe to free the Legendary Rhino, the animals learned that Rogon had a sister. At first, Eris thought that Rogon described her as a "special friend" because he was dating her and got pretty jealous. Good thing the siblings explained everything before the end of their mission. Eris and Rinona were now close friends.

The Rhino Prince asked the young eagle on a date on numerous occasions after their return from the Outlands. She denied every time under the pretext that she was either sick or already booked to do something, but none of it was true. Not that she didn't want to go out with him or that she felt disgusted by the young rhino. It's just... Eris never went on a date before. The closest things she ever experienced were her adventures with Laval. Sitting down on a blanket and eating food with a boy was an entirely different concept.

After a few weeks of studying and getting mentally prepared, Eris finally accepted Rogon's demand. At the very moment, the young eagle was in her bedroom getting ready for her date by giving herself a scanning look in her mirror. It felt weird realizing that she had this mirror from the very start, but never made use of it as she preferred to spend her time in front of her books instead. Nonetheless, she made sure to remove any trace of dirt from her white feathers and also cleaned herself as well as she could.

"There, it should be enough," she told herself with a satisfied smile. "Rogon should be arrived by this time. I'm gonna go out and check it up."

Opening her wings, Eris gracefully took off and flew out of the Eagle Shrine to dive toward the ground. Before landing, she noticed the Rock Flinger at the feet of the shrine's mountain with Rogon peeking out of it to wave at her. "Hey! Eris! I'm here!" he called.

"Hello, Rogon!" she greeted him back before landing on top of his vehicle, a bright smile on her beak. "Sorry for taking so long; I was getting ready for our date."

"It's okay, Eris. I barely arrived too. Your shrine is really hard to find, you know."

The eagle was about to point out that the residence of his tribe was just a few meters away from her shrine, but decided to simply giggle in amusement. It was Rogon being Rogon. "So? What did you plan for our date?"

"You'll see; it's gonna be amazing! Come on, get in!" Rogon beamed and went back to sit inside his Rock Flinger with Eris following suit.

Rogon brought Eris to the open area covered of golden flowers where she and Laval joined Gorzan and his sister after their conflict with the Crocodiles' stolen Chi. He placed a blanket over a spot with no flowers and proceeded to take out plates of food and some bottles of drink. In addition, he also took out pots of flowers and little rocks for decoration. A rather odd choice, but that didn't bother Eris. The two friends started eating the food which was surprisingly good. They talked about many things such as their mission in the outlands, more specifically about when Eris got tangled in the spiders' web.

"That Spinlyn girl was so narcissist. I mean, what's the idea of checking yourself in a mirror in the middle of a battle?" Eris asked with a chuckle.

"She was way too obsessed with her beauty," Rogon mused and laughed. "But you know, even if she was a pretty girl, she still wasn't anything compared to you."

This compliment caused Eris' cheek to blush a bright red which she tried to cover with her hand. "Stop it, Rogon. I'm not that pretty. I mean, I'm sure there are other girls around Chima that caught your eye."

"Caught my eye?" the rhino asked, blinking his eyes curiously.

"I meant getting your interest."

"Oh! No, not at all, Eris. You're the only one I'm interested in because you're very smart and beautiful. I will never forget that night you belly danced like an angel." He then blinked his eyes again. "Wait, it was you, right?"

"Yes it was me," Eris confirmed with a giggle. "It was a pleasant experience, but I never did it again."

"Think you could do it for me one of these days?" Rogon asked in excitation.

Eris gave me a smile. "If you want. I'll just have to find my costume first." She took a sip of her drink before continuing. "So, how are things in your tribe?"

"Awesome! Rinona and I spent all day working in the caves yesterday. We've made plenty of new friends!" he beamed. Eris giggled as she knew that by 'friends' he meant rocks.

The rest of the date went by smoothly with the young couple chatting about fun stuff until the sun started to set on the horizon, turning the sky auburn. Understanding it was time to leave, they packed the equipment away and Rogon drove his girlfriend back to the Eagle Shrine. With her help for directions, of course.

"Thanks for the date, Rogon. I had a lot of fun." Eris gave him a little kiss on the cheek before taking off. "Goodnight!"

As she flew up toward her home, Rogon looked at Eris and rubbed the spot where she kissed him. "YES!" he beamed and jumped in joy. "Eris loves me! She loves me!" He jumped around for a while before stopping. "Alright, time for me to go home... Wait, in which direction is my home?"
