Author's Note: This story came into my mind after reading several Lion King stories on FanFiction. Since I also wanted to have this one out of my head, I decided to write it for you. I hope you enjoy, Leon's Legacy, my first Lion King fan fiction on this account.

This story takes place directly after the end of Season Three of The Lion Guard. You can say, it's my own continuation of the show, if there was a human in the Pride Lands after the finale of the cartoon.

Prologue: Birth of Leon

It was a cool and warm day at the edge of the savannah called the Pride Lands. A few bonfire was placed around the camp as the humans relaxed there. They were enjoying their peaceful day. The birds chirped happily from their camp area in the savannah.

"This is just great..." mumbled a voice from one of the tents in the camp. "Don't worry, dear. You'll make it."

Within the tent was a man of twenty five and a woman about twenty seven years old. Their African clothes were rugged from hunting, and their brown and slender faces were full of excitement and worry as the woman was panicking from her birthing to a child.

"Are you sure?" the woman asked her husband.

"Yes, I'm quite sure you'll make it," the man nodded in reassurance.

The woman, who was named Sara, panted as she soon fell unconscious after the baby came out of her womb at last.

"Is she alright?" A second man in the tent, no doubt the doctor, asked the man who was called Chad.

"Yes, she just fell unconscious," Chad replied. "It's normal for women to do so, right?"

"I suppose so," the doctor nodded as he slowly took the newborn child into his hands. "Do you have a name for this small child?"

The child was relatively small in size. It had blood from the womb all over it. There was a very thin patch of hair, a single hair, on its head.

"I think the child is to be named Leon," Chad smiled to his son after naming him. "I think it fits him since we're in the African savannah, after all. 'Leon' comes close to 'lion', too. It'll be very fitting to have a name like that."

"I like it," the doctor smiled. "I think it'll be a great name for this child."

"Hello, son," Chad bowed on one knee to his son in the doctor's hands. "I'm your father, Chad. I expect great things from you. I hope you're going to love these lands known as the Pride Lands. We're very happy for you to be born."

His words came into the newborn human child and he slowly opened his small eyes to look at its surroundings. He cried afterward.

The doctor cradled the child in his arms, which had a clear effect on Leon as he fell asleep right away.

Sara slowly regained consciousness after an hour and a half has passed. She looked at the child beside her and smiled in joy.

"My son..." she sobbed as Chad came into the tent slowly without awakening Leon.

"His name is Leon," the man told his wife.

"I love it," Sara smiled happily to Chad. "It definitely sounds close to lion. He'll love it here." She slowly took Leon close to her with her hand.

Chad smiled at the sight before him.

Later, in the next day...

The next day, there was something going on in the camp as men shouted loudly and attacked the campers in their tents.

The tents burned after torches lit them up. Only one tent remained untouched.

The one with Leon inside.

Chad and Sara fought the intruders with their guns, trying desperately to defend their child.

"Get away from us, troublemakers!" Chad shouted angrily to the African people.

"La!" the men shouted in unison in Swahili.

Chad fired at a man with his gun, killing him. Chad was soon shot in the shoulder by a second man, and he cried out in pain.

"Chad!" Sara tried to help him, but he raised a hand.

"Get Leon out of here!" Chad ordered her.

She nodded, running inside the tent and took Leon gently in her arms. She opened the back of the tent and rushed off into the jungle.

"Wewe ni fanyika kwa!" You are done for.

Chad was shot in the head by an African man and fell to the ground, dead.

The African men didn't bother following Sara into the jungle, though. They wanted to burn the camp to the ground with the bodies, so not not have any evidence for those who finds their attack.

The intruders fled from the burning area soon afterward, not leaving their vehicles behind.

There. I think that's a good way to end the prologue. I hope you all enjoyed reading this beginning chapter of the story. The next one will be following Kion and Rani from the Tree of Life.

See you until then, my friends!
