Chapter 1: Those Memories He Cherish

"Now that we've done the mission faster than expected, I believe we have time for a little celebration." A man with bright blue eyes and spiky blonde hair, said to the three students in front of him. "Let's head to Ichiraku Ramen, it's my treat."

"Alright! You're the best Minato-sensei!" A boy with a spiky black hair beamed at the blonde, as he pumped both of his fists in the air. "Hey Minato-sensei, could I get an extra topping?" He asked with a smile.

The blonde lightly laughed. "Of course, you can, Obito. You did most of the work searching for Tora, after all." He replied with a smile, much to Obito's excitement.

"You hear that Bakashi? Minato-sensei said I did most of the work." He bragged while puffing his chest in pride. The silver haired boy with black eyes scoffed in response. "You're only good at doing D-class missions, Obito," he dryly commented. "And only that, if you ask me."

Obito's eye twitched in irritation, as he gritted his teeth. "What was that Bakashi!?" He shouted and pointed at his teammate.

"Obito, Kakashi no more fighting," a girl with brown hair and brown eyes said, as she went between her two arguing teammates to diffuse the situation. "Come on guys, Minato-sensei said It's time to celebrate. Fighting would only ruin the fun," she said, as she looked at Obito with pleading eyes.

Obito lightly blushed before looking away. "Well… If you say so, Rin." He replied while shyly scratching the back of his head.

"Good!" Rin beamed with a smile, making Obito's blush grow. "Now, now," Minato interrupted with a with a small smile. "Let's head there now, shall we?"

The three students nodded in response but before they were able to take a single step, a small piece of paper was suddenly blown by the wind on Obito's face. "What the hell!?" Obito shouted in surprise, garnering the attention of the others.

The three looked at him, as he pried the paper away from his face. "Who the hell threw this!?" He shouted in mild irritation, while quickly looking at his surroundings.

"I don't think someone threw that to you, Obito. It was probably blown by the wind." Minato said with slight amusement. "Dobe" Kakashi dryly commented from the side while shrugging.

"Whatever, teme!" The Uchiha retorted, before looking at the paper in his hand. His eyes then widened in surprise. "Wait, Minato-sensei! What is this? This looks like a seal," he suddenly said, as he showed the paper to others.

Minato's eyes widened before narrowing, as he looked at the paper in the boy's hand. "Obito, give me that for a second," he said with obvious urgency in his tone.

The three students noticed the seriousness in their sensei's face, so Obito nodded and complied. But before he was able to take a single step forward, the seal in his hand suddenly activated and engulfed everyone with a blinding light.

"What!?"

"Idiot!"

"Obito!?"

"Obito!" Minato shouted with evident alarm, as dashed forward to save his student from the danger posed by the seal. However, before he could reach his student, his conscious suddenly faltered, as he hit the ground with a thud.

"Minato-sensei-," the Uchiha shouted, but was also knocked out, just like the blonde.

"Obit- "

"Rin!"

Soon, all of Team Minato was knocked out cold, like the two before them, as their bodies suddenly disappeared in a flash of light from the now empty streets of Konoha.

"Ow," Obito groaned, as his consciousness finally returned to him. "What happened?" He questioned himself out loud, as he pushed himself up into a sitting position, from the carpet floor he was laying at.

Still groggy from waking up, he slowly glanced at the place he found himself in. The room was large, it had dim lighting, carpeted floors and velvety walls. It also had a row of chairs, similar to that in a theater, facing a large screen.

His eyes widened in surprise, as his senses finally returned to him. 'This is like a movie theater! What am I doing here!?" He anxiously thought, before quickly standing up.

"Owww," a voice from his side groaned, causing him to slightly jump in surprise. Gazing at the direction of the voice, he soon found his teammate, Rin Nohara, slowly stirring up from her slumber.

"Rin!" He shouted, as he knelt in front of the girl, before helping her sit up. "Obito?" She asked while rubbing her eye. "What happened?"

"I don't know, Rin. I just woke up and found myself-! Wait, the seal! It suddenly activated from my hand!" He shouted, as his memories from before suddenly returned.

"Keep it down! I'm trying to sleep, ya know!" a voice suddenly interrupted, making the conscious shinobi jolt in surprise. The two looked at the location of the noise, only to find a red-haired woman lying on the ground, meters from them.

"Kushina-san!" Rin shouted, as she immediately stood up and ran towards the woman. "Obito? Rin? Kushina?" another voice said, causing the young Uchiha to look behind him, only to see Kakashi and Minato groggily sitting on the floor.

"Minato-sensei, Bakashi!" He said, as he stood and ran towards them. "What did you do now, idiot?!" Kakashi irritatingly asked while placing his head in his hand.

"I didn't do anything! The seal suddenly activated, Bakashi!" He quickly defended, as he clenched his fist in annoyance. "You're the only idiot who could somehow mess up! And the seal was at your hand to begin with!" Kakashi retorted, as he stood up and harshly pushed his index finger on the Uchiha's chest.

"What did you say!?"

"Kakashi, Obito stop it." Minato sternly interjected, as he placed his hands on both the boys' shoulder. The two huffed in annoyance, before reluctantly complying and looking away from each other. "I don't think Obito activated the seal as I was looking at it, after all. It seems the seal activated on itself."

"Minato's right, ya know?" Kushina chimed in, as she and Rin walked towards the group. "Kushina! How did you get here?" Minato asked, as he walked towards the woman before giving her a hug. Kushina returned the hug, making Rin's eyes shine at the sweetness, before she moved back.

"I was at the market buying ingredients for our dinner when suddenly a paper hit me at my face." She answered with mild annoyance, while rubbing the bridge of her nose. "I took a look at it and noticed that it was a seal I never saw before, despite being a seal master myself. Then suddenly it activated with a bright light and soon I found myself being woken up by Rin here."

"That sounds like exactly what happened to us," another voice interrupted, garnering the attention of the group. Looking towards the direction of the voice, everyone's eyes widened in surprise when they noticed five people standing near them.

"Hokage-sama, Jiraiya-sensei, Tsunade-sama, Fugaku-san and Mikoto-san… A seal also brought you here?" Minato asked, to which they nodded in response.

"That's right, kid. An intricate seal, I never once saw before in my life." Jiraiya answered his pupil with narrowed eyes. "And when I woke up, the seal disappeared. I can only assume that's the same with you all."

They nodded, while Hiruzen crossed his arms. "To think that a seal, unfamiliar to even those who mastered the arts…" He trailed off, causing everyone to look at him. "Who in the world could do such a thing?" He asked no one in particular, before taking a drag from his pipe.

"I can answer that." For the umpteenth time that day, a voice interrupted, causing all of them to tense, as they looked towards the direction of the voice. Their eyes widened in shock, as their mouths hanged open at the appearance of the man before them.

The man had a long goatee and shoulder-length, spiky brownish hair with braided lock hanging in front of his ears. He wore a white, full-length kimono with a pattern of six black magatama around the collar, and held a black staff with a sun and moon pattern on each end. However, the most shocking and notable aspect about him are the purple rippled eyes he bore, along with the twin horns sticking on his forehead.

"It can't be!" Hiruzen uttered, as his pipe fell from his open mouth and onto the ground. The other adults, albeit haven't said anything, was equally shocked as they recognize the otherworldly man before them.

"Who is he, ji-san?" Obito questioned with a hint of nervousness, what he and his young teammates were wondering.

"I am Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, more commonly known to you as the Rikudō Sennin. The father of ninshū, the predecessor of ninjutsu." He answered in the Hokage's behalf, confirming what the adults were thinking, while surprising the three young shinobis.

"I know you have a lot of questions and by means I would answer all of it. So please take a seat." He continued while gesturing at the multiple theater seats, littered in the room.

The shinobis' followed his hand and nodded. Knowing that it was the Rikudō Sennin, himself who summoned them, they would be a fool not to think that it's important.

Kushina sat first on the far left with Minato on her right, followed by Obito, Rin and Kakashi respectively. Behind the five, sat the others, with Sarutobi on the far left with Jiraiya to his right, followed by Tsunade, Mikoto and Fugaku.

Gazing at the now sitting shinobi's gazing at him, Hagoromo nodded before starting. "I have gathered you all here to watch the future that lies ahead of you and the shinobi world. The future about to come is dark, filled with so much death and misery."

Everyone's eyes widened in surprise, as he continued. "Which is why I am giving you a chance, a chance to change it for the better. This room is a place that exists before time and space. A century that pass here is equivalent to nothing in the real world." The shinobis' eyes widened in surprise once more.

"In other words, no matter how long you stay here, time wouldn't pass. And once you returned in the real world, you will be back to the time you activated the seal." He finished, as the others looked at him with such bewilderment and awe.

"Hagoromo-sama may I ask a question?" Hiruzen politely questioned, to which the sage gestured for him to continue. "Why are we chosen for this?" He asked what he and the others were thinking.

Hagoromo slightly smiled, before he answered. "It's because you are the only people capable of making a change."

The shinobis were confused, but nevertheless nodded. "Are there any more questions?" He asked while gazing at them. When nobody said anything, he nodded before continuing,

"Very well. If there are no more questions then we shall start. Remember that you can always ask me to stop if you desire to take a break." He said, while the others nodded.

"And one final thing… I ask everyone that no matter what you saw, do not bear hate to each other." He said, as the everyone's worry began to grow. "Well then, shall we start?" He asked to which everyone nodded, albeit the others were quite reluctant to.

"Before you see the future, you must first see the past." Hagoromo said, as floated in the air while pointing his staff at the screen before them.

The screen flashed open, to show a panicked, lone boy running at the streets of Konoha. The boy had black eyes, covered by his goggles with orange lenses connected to ear protectors, and short spiky, black hair. He wore a long sleeved open, blue jacket, with orange collar and trimmings, to which underneath, he wore a standard shinobi mesh shirt. He also wore a brown pair of shorts, and a standard shinobi sandals to complete his outfit.

"What?! That's me!" Obito pointed out the obvious, to which the others laughed. "We can see that." Kakashi deadpanned, while the young Uchiha ignored him in favor of watching himself on the big screen.

"Oh man, oh man, oh man!" he repeated, while running hurriedly, as sweat poured on his face. "This is the one day I can't be late!" he said, as he neared the entrance of the Academy where a banner of 'Entrance Ceremony' can be seen.

"Bwahahaha!" Jiraiya heartily laughed while clutching his chest in his hand. "Already late on your first day, are you, brat?" He said between laughs, making Obito's eye twitch.

"As if you're any better, Jiraiya." Tsunade huffed, as took a gulp from her sake, that nobody had any idea where she hid.

However, as he got near, it was already too late as two shinobis were already removing the said banner. Defeated, he slowed his pace, before looking sadly as the other students walked pass him. He sighed, as his shoulders slumped in defeat.

"Now, I feel bad for laughing." Jiraiya, now sober, commented, while crossing his arms.

"It's the entrance ceremony and you're already late" a boy with a silver hair and black face mask said while glancing at him. He wore a black, long sleeved shirt with a zipper in the middle, ankle high grey pants and a standard shinobi sandal.

Obito glared at him, while Rin watched the two with a smile. "Someone like you has no business being in the Academy" Kakashi bluntly continued, as he looked away and shrugging. "You'll never make it."

"That's not a nice thing to say, Kakashi." Minato scolded the boy, as the adults nodded, feeling pity for Obito. Kakashi looked away and scoffed.

"Yeah, you may be better than the others, but that doesn't mean you can just look down on them, ya know?" Kushina added, to which the others nodded once more.

"It's okay" the girl chimed in while holding an envelope for the glaring boy to take. The girl had brown eyes, and brown hair, cut in chin-length bob that framed her face. She had a purple rectangular purple marking on both of her cheeks. She wore a light pink, long sleeved blouse, a plain maroon, sleeveless haori, black pair of shorts and a standard shinobi sandal.

Obito looked away from Kakashi and gazed towards the smiling girl. "I got this for you" Rin said with a kind smile, before handing the envelope at Obito.

"Aww that's so sweet, Rin!" Kushina cooed in delight, while the girl merely smiled at the praise.

Surprised, Obito asked, "F-for me?" As he pointed at himself for clarification. "Yes! Just submit this and you'll be able to enroll" she said, as Obito smiled brightly at the girl's kindness.

"Thank you! You're a lifesaver!" he cheerfully said, as he held his hands together. Kakashi watching the two, clicked his tongue. "Keep pampering him and he'll never be cured of his tardiness" he bluntly stated.

"Again, that's mean, Kakashi." Minato once again scolded, making Obito smile and Kakashi frown. "Yeah, I get it sensei. I'm apologize." He sighed while crossing his arms.

Annoyed, Obito looked back at the impassive boy. "Shut up! Do you wanna fight?" he angrily questioned. As the two boys bickered in the background, Rin looked at the two with a seemingly weird smile.

Rin madly blushed at her face on the screen, while the other female shinobis snickered, much to her embarrassment. 'What's with that face!?' She thought to herself, while hiding her face on her hands.

The scene changed to the Academy classroom, where Obito can be seen waving at Rin, an attempt to get her attention, only to notice that Rin was looking at Kakashi. Saddened, Obito looked away, as his brow furrowed.

Obito blushed, while Rin suddenly looked at him, confused. "Now I am starting to regret this!" He shouted, while covering his reddened face.

"I can smell a love triangle coming." Jiraiya whispered to Tsunade, causing her to lightly chuckle.

"Aw, poor Obito" Kushina whispered to Minato, as her brows furrowed. Minato nodded before smiling. "Don't worry, I know one day that Rin would finally take notice of him," he whispered back.

The scene then transitioned to show Kakashi, now in the Academy training grounds, as he easily hit his targets with his shurikens. The girls, including Rin, clapped at his skills while cheering him.

'Damn fangirls!' Kakashi shuddered in thought, while Obito huffed, looking annoyed.

Obito, annoyed, looked at Kakashi before looking away. He was then called by the teacher to be next. He smiled slightly, at the chance to show off, only to miss all of the targets and almost hit their teacher in the head with his shuriken.

"Aw man! Even this!?" Obito shouted in horror while pointing at the screen.

Jiraiya loudly laughed once again, while Obito blushed in embarrassment. "Don't worry, Obito, nobody is good at first." Minato said with a kind smile, as the boy scratched the back of his head. "Thanks, Minato-sensei."

"Hey! Are you trying to kill me?!" the teacher shouted in anger, after recovering from almost being hit. "S-sorry" Obito quickly apologized, as he lowered his head in shame. All of the other students laughed at him, besides Rin and Kakashi.

Rin looked at Obito with visible worry, while Kakashi just shrugged.

"Worry not, Obito. I'm sure you're already better than before." Mikoto said with a smile, to which Obito nodded. "Yeah! I'm definitely way better than before!"

The scene transitioned to show Kakashi and Obito, facing each other in a beginning of a match. "Begin!" their teacher called off, as he waved his hand down.

The two boys immediately competed in a taijutsu match, kicking, punching and dodging each other. Kakashi then went for a low sweep, but Obito narrowly dodged it by jumping upwards. They then continued to exchange punch and kicks, while also blocking and dodging each other's moves.

The two continued to fight, but Kakashi seemed to be better, as he was able to quickly punch Obito in his head, causing him to stagger. Rin worriedly watched the fight from the sidelines.

As the fight continues, Obito was slowly being pushed back by Kakashi's skills, taking more hits than the silver haired boy. Kakashi then continued on the offence while Obito stayed on defense.

Seeing an opening to retaliate, Obito ducked below the other boy's kick before retaliating with his own, causing Kakashi to twist and fell to the ground with a thud. Obito smiled and ran towards the now downed boy, to continue his assault.

He then punched Kakashi, only for a cloud of smoke to suddenly appear, and a log to take Kakahi's place on the ground. Confused, Obito looked back, only for a Kunai to be pointed on his neck by Kakashi himself.

"Stop right there!" the teacher called off the match, as Kakashi backed away. Obito continued to sit on the ground, exhausted before Kakashi reached out his hand and helped the boy up.

"Not bad, brat." Jiraiya commented, to which some of the adults nodded.

Obito shortly smiled at the boy, before looking towards Rin, only to see the worry plastered on her face. Ashamed, Obito tore his gaze away from the girl before looking at the ground sadly.

Rin looked once again at Obito, yet just like before, the boy seemed to be avoiding her for some reason. She then looked back at the screen with her brows furrowed, still confused as to why Obito looked sad seeing her.

The scene changed to the classroom, where Obito can be seen dozing off in the front while the teacher wrote on the board. Kakashi, looking at Obito, crumpled a paper before throwing it to the boy.

When the paper hit his head, he was awoken in surprise. "Y-yes!" he shouted, still groggy from his sleep. The teacher looked at him as he quickly stood up, to take his book from his desk to read it.

"Sorry," Kakashi apologized in advance, while JIraiya laughed once again. "That's you, teme!?" Obito shouted as he gritted his teeth. While the other adults could only shake their heads.

"Um… um" he stuttered, not knowing what page to read, as the teacher looked at him in slight disappointment. "What is it, Obito? I didn't call on you" the teacher said, surprising Obito and causing the other students to laugh at him.

"These kids are mean!" Kushina pouted while crossing her arms.

Obito quickly looked towards Rin, as the girl looked at him worryingly. Rin then averted her gaze and looked down, while Obito with a blush looked away. "That was so funny!", "He's so weird!" some of the students said, as Obito tried his hardest to keep his tears from being embarrassed at bay.

He then quickly sat down, while ducking his head under his book. His blush never leaving his face.

"Sorry, Obito" Rin suddenly said while looking at him with a hint of guilt. "I wasn't able to help you back then."

"Don't worry about it, Rin!" Obito nervously said, as he scratched the back of his head. Still, it wasn't able to quell the guilt she had.

The scene transitioned to show Kakashi walking out of the Academy gates with his new Hitai-ate. The other students surround him, looking at him with bewilderment.

"Wow", "That is amazing!" his peers cheered at him, as he stood confidently in the middle. Obito and Rin then approached him, the former with slight jealousy while the latter is smiling. What's with that headband?" Obito asked him.

"You passed!" Rin instead answered, as Obito looked at her. "Congratulations" she continued, as Obito clenched his fists and looked down with growing jealousy. "Yeah…" Kakashi said, much to Rin's delight and Obito's annoyance.

Obito looked back at Rin to notice she's smiling warmly at Kakashi. He looked down once again, as he gritted his teeth. "Aren't you going to congratulate me?" Kakashi coolly remarked.

"Oh, Obito," Mikoto sighed sadly, while Fugaku quirked an eyebrow. "He not jealous because Kakashi passed, isn't it?" He silently inquired his wife, to which he nodded.

"He's jealous because the girl pays more attention to Kakashi." She whispered, while he nodded. Although he didn't reply, he could still sympathize with his nephew, as it took him a lot of time and effort before he finally managed to make Mikoto like him in the past.

Obito glared at Kakashi. "As if! I'll catch up to you in no time! Just you wait!" He shouted at Kakashi's face, as the silver haired boy backed away, narrowing his eyes. He then ran away, while Kakashi shrugged and Rin looked at Obito with worry. "Obito…" she muttered, as her brows furrowed.

"Awww… It makes me sad to see Obito like this." Kushina whispered, as Minato smiled sadly.

The scene flashed forward, as Obito can now be seen alone on a bench and under the shade of the tree. He looked down, while Rin slowly approached, worried about him. "Class is starting. Let's go" Rin started, as Obito continued to look down, brows furrowed, saddened by something.

"Rin…" Obito trailed off, still averting the girl's gaze. The girl was slightly taken aback but didn't say anything. "Keep… Keep watching over me, okay?" Obito said, slightly confusing Rin. "Huh?" Rin asked the boy looking at the ground.

"I… I'll catch up to him! Then I'll surpass him and… I'll become the Hokage, no matter what!" Obito answered, as he clenched his fists. Rin smiled and nodded her head. "Yes. Don't worry, I'll be watching" she assured him, as Obito looked at her before slightly smiling.

"Alright! I'm gonna do my best!" Obito shouted with conviction, as he raised his fist above his head.

"That's such a sweet scene!" Kushina squealed with such delight, making the others chuckle, while Obito and Rin lightly blushed.

The scene changed again to show Obito walking at an empty street of Konohagakure no Sato, carrying a green bag with a cane sticking out of it.

"I wish he'd stop messing around!" someone shouted, to which Obito slightly winced at the noise. He then looked towards the direction of the noise to see two older shinobi walking. "Who wants to be together with him!?" the annoyed one of the two continued, showing frustration on his face as the young Uchiha passed by them.

"Who is he talking about?" Rin mused out loud, as her brows furrowed in confusion.

"Don't be so upset," the other tried to appease his friend. "Kakashi is already leaving the team," he continued. Obito recognizing the name, stopped walking and turned around, slightly surprised.

Everyone frowned at this, while Kakashi merely huffed. 'Idiots.'

"Still…" the frustrated one tried to argue, but cut himself up. "Um, excuse me" He started, garnering the attention of the shinobis, prompting them to stop and look at him. "By 'Kakashi' are you talking about Hatake Kakashi?" He inquired the two shinobis, albeit slightly nervous.

The two seemed to be confused, as one of them asked, "Who are you?"

"Kakashi and I were at the Academy together," he answered. "Oh, so you're friends?" the one who questioned him before, asked again.

Obito looked down, seemingly embarrassed. "No, I wouldn't call us friends." He replied.

"He's pretty nasty, right?" The annoyed shinobi from before questioned him. The question seemed to surprise Obito, as he looked to at the two older shinobis with slight confusion. "We can't complete a mission with a guy like that," the other one continued.

Kushina huffed in annoyance. "Talking behind someone is the worst!" She stated, as the others nodded.

"Mission?" He mused out loud, before looking down and remembering something. 'Oh right… Kakashi is already going on missions,' he thought, before asking again. "Did something happen?"

"That guy always prioritizes the mission over everything," the annoyed one answered. "Even if his teammate is hurt or is left behind in enemy territory."

The adults frowned, while Hiruzen hummed lightly, remembering his request to Minato. They couldn't blame the boy for acting like that, after what happened to his father.

The other shinobi bowed his head slightly and sighed, before supporting his friend. "There's no way we can work with him."

"If you ever have to team up with him, be careful." The annoyed shinobi warned, before he and his friend turned around and walked away. Obito, now coflicted, watched the two shinobi walked away.

Obito gritted his teeth, berating himself for slightly believing the two that time. 'Bakashi may be a jerk! But there's no way he would leave us in a mission!'

'Prioritizes… the mission?' He thought, as an image of Kakashi flashed in his mind. "I'll save my friends, no matter what. That's my Ninja Way," the Kakashi in his thoughts said before disappearing.

'Him? He'd do that?' He mused, slightly denying what the two said.

'I have no regrets.' Kakashi mused to himself, while Rin looked at him worryingly.

The scene changed, as Obito can now be seen running towards Rin. "Say, Rin… Do you see Kakashi these days? He questioned, as he placed his hands in his pockets and walked with her.

Rin frowned for a second, brows slightly furrowed, as she shook her head. "No, I only catch glimpses of him in town," she answered. "I think he's away on missions most of the time."

Obito seemed to contemplate his earlier conversation with the older shinobis as he looked towards the ground. Rin seemed to notice this as she asked, "Why?"

"I heard some rumors about Kakashi yesterday." He started, as the amber afternoon skies filled the horizon. "They weren't good rumors. Last time I saw him, he seemed to have change a lot, too." He continued.

"Could it be something to do with his father?" Rin silently asked no one in particular, showing worry on her face. That seemed to perk the Obito's interest as he looked towards Rin before asking, "Do you know something?"

Kakashi narrowed his eyes at the screen but didn't say anything, while the adults bowed their heads in shame. Unable to do anything to save the boy's father.

'So, she does know.' Obito thought, as he looked towards girl looking ashamed herself.

"Well, no…" Rin quickly denies. Obito seemed to catch her lie, but didn't press on. "Oh, I see," he said.

Soon, they finally reached the crossroads in which they will part ways. "Okay, Obito. See you tomorrow!" Rin said as she waved at Obito, before turning and walking away.

"Yeah," he said, as he waved at the fleeting girl, before walking away.

The amber sky turned orange, as the night approaches. Obito, now alone, walked at the empty streets on Konoha, before stopping when he saw a familiar boy.

'So that's why he approached me' Kakashi thought with mild shame. Now knowing that Obito was only trying to help him back then. Even if he didn't say it, deep down he was very grateful for what his friend did.

Kakashi's clothes changed. He now wears a black t-shirt with white stripes on the sleeves, additional sleeves over his arms with metal protectors, leather straps around his back and chest, black pants and the standard shinobi sandals. He also has a white short sword which is held by a small holder in the middle of his back.

'Kakashi…' He thought, as he looked towards the lone, sitting boy. Smiling, he walked towards the boy. Kakashi noticing his steps, he turned his head and faced Obito. Placing his hands on his hip, Obito enthusiastically greeted, "Yo! Kakashi! How's it going?"

Kakashi turned his head, ignoring the boy's presence. Obito pouted at the cold treatment, brows furrowed, yet he continued to smile slightly. "I've been hearing a lot about you. Looks like you've been seeing a lot of action."

He frowned while his brow twitched, irritated as Kakashi ignored him once more. "Hey, did something happen?" He asked the silent boy with a slightly agitated tone. "If something's on your mind- "

"I'm not so desperate that I need you to worry about me." Kakashi cut him off, before standing. Obito surprised at the sudden action, backed away slightly. His nervousness then doubled, as Kakashi shot him a cold look. Time seemed to stop for a second, before Kakashi closed his eyes and turned.

"I-I apologized fort that, Obito." Kakashi apologized, catching the young Uchiha off guard. "It's just that a lot happened that day."

Obito eyes widened for a fraction of a second, before he smiled. "Don't worry about it, I could understand." He said, causing the others to smile at them.

'He's becoming more open and considerate,' Hiruzen thought with a small smile. 'It seems placing him in a team with Obito, was the best decision.'

"Leave me alone," he coldly said, as he walked away from now worried boy. Obito reached his hand forward in the air, about to stop Kakashi from going but hesitated at the last second.

He watched as Kakashi walked away from him, while sun slowly settles at the horizon. "Kakashi…" He worryingly uttered, while gazing at the fleeting boy, unable to do anything.

"I'm just glad they're a lot closer than before, ya know." Kushina beamed, to which Minato and Rin smiled.

The scene then transitioned to a forest, as rain can be seen falling from the heavens above. Obito is now running, before jumping and tossing three shurikens at a practice log, hitting it as he landed on a crouch. He then formed a familiar hand seals before inhaling and exhaling, to create the famous Uchiha technique, Katon: Gokakyu no Jutsu.

"Impressive." Fugaku praised with a nod, causing Obito to smile proudly. "The makings of a fine shinobi, indeed!" Hiruzen added, causing Obito's smile to grow.

Although he is tired, Obito continued to train, as he leapt upwards and towards a tree branch, before sticking upside down, with the help of chakra. He then performed numerous sit ups, while a girl with a red umbrella watches him.

'Wait-! I remember this! Oh no!' Obito paled, while Rin's eyes widened, as she remembered what happened.

"I found you, Obito!" Rin eagerly said to the oblivious boy. Obito, surprised and distracted by the call, stopped in his routine. "Rin!" He called back with a smile, before slipping and falling down from the tree, when his chakra concentration was cut off.

He hit the ground with a loud thud, while Rin discarded her umbrella and ran after him, clearly worried. "Are you alright!?" Rin worryingly asked him, as she knelt down in front of him, while he lay on the ground with his legs above his head.

"And just like that your awesomeness is over, brat!" Jiraiya laughed, while Tsunade sighed. 'A fall like that could cause a serious injury,' she shook her head.

"Ouch… That definitely hurts." Kushina winced while worriedly looking at the downed boy. "You shouldn't be distracted like that, Obito." Minato stated, as Obito awkwardly scratch the back of his head.

"Sorry, Obito I shouldn't have interrupted you like that." Rin apologized, causing Obito to wave his hand in front of him. "No, no it's fine, Rin."

Obito, slightly embarrassed, quickly picked himself from the ground while laughing nervously. "I just slipped. I'm okay. I'm okay." He played it cool while scratching the back of his head, not wanting her to be worried.

"Obito, you shouldn't act tough like that. I know that hurt." Rin said with a pout, while Obito laughed nervously.

Rin, now relieved, asked him with wide eyes, "You're training in this rain?"

Obito, surprised at her question, meekly smiled. "Yeah… I figured I have to try harder if I'm going to catch up to that guy" He said. "That guy?" Rin asked, oblivious to who he's talking about.

"I mean, Kakashi. One day, I'll surprise him. Otherwise, I can't become the Hokage." He answered, before crossing his arms, as the rain continued to pour on them. "Besides, he's already going on missions. I have to work harder or the gap between us will get bigger!" He continued with a conviction.

"That's an admirable goal, kid but you shouldn't push yourself like that. A shinobi's health is just as important as one's skill." Tsunade stated, as she took another drink from her sake.

Rin widely smiled, before cheering him. "That's the spirit!" Go for it, Obito!"

"Yeah!" He replied with a light blush on his cheeks.

"Aww! Another sweet scene!" Kushina childishly giggled, making Obito and Rin blush. "I know right, Kushina-chan!" Mikoto added, as the two women giggled like kids in love.

'Women,' was the unanimous thought of all the older men in the room, besides Minato.

The scene then changed to show Obito in his vigorous training throughout multiple seasons.

Most of the adults smiled at the boy's dedication, while Fugaku merely nodded but proud nonetheless.

Soon, he was now shown in front of the Hokage and multiple shinobi of the Academy.

He then performed a familiar hand seal, but struggled to make a shadow clone. Still, he didn't give up and soon a shadow clone appeared from a puff of smoke beside him, looking as equally exhausted as the original. Obito inhaled and exhaled, due to exhaustion and so does his clone.

"Even if you took a hard time to create one, you still didn't give up… And that, my boy is what matters." Hiruzen complimented, causing Obito and the others to smile.

"Indeed, Hokage-sama." Fugaku added with a nod.

The scene transitioned once again to show him, sulking and sitting alone again in a bench. 'No good… It's no good. Of course, I totally failed…" He sadly mused to himself. 'Damn it… I still can't catch up to him…' He continued to doubt himself, as he placed his head below his hands and looked at the sky.

"You shouldn't belittle yourself like that, Obito." Minato said, as he patted the boy's head. "Sorry, Minato-sensei… It's just that I thought I failed." The young Uchiha, now slightly embarrassed, said.

'What do… I say to Rin? He thought, oblivious to his teacher approaching him. "So, there you are!' his teacher said to him, catching him in surprise. "You just dashed out of the classroom."

Jiraiya chucked lightly but didn't say anything. 'What an interesting brat.'

"I-I'm sorry," he said, as he slumped on his seat before standing up. "I looked all over you. Here you go!" The teacher said with a smile, as he went for his pocket and handed him a Hitai-ate.

Obito looked surprised, before slightly smiling. "Don't tell me I… ?" He asked with uncertainty. "Congratulations! From today, you are a full-pledged shinobi" his teacher said, with a smile.

Obito took the headband before smiling brightly. "I did it!" he shouted with glee, as he held the Hitai-ate with his two hands, over his head.

"See, you shouldn't doubt yourself like that, Obito." Kushina said with a smile. "Kushina-san is right, Obito. I always believe you could do it!" Rin beamed, causing Obito to blush and look away. "I-I uh, yeah you're right Rin!" He stuttered, causing some to chuckle lightly.

'Ah, young love.' Hiruzen thought with a smile.

The scene changed, now showing the blossomed sakura petals from a tree. However, the peaceful scene was quickly replaced by a panicked and running Obito on the village's streets. "Oh no, oh no!" he repeated as he increased his pace towards the Academy where a banner of 'Graduation Ceremony' can be seen.

"Even on your graduation, you're late?" Jiraiya teased, as Obito's eyebrow twitched in annoyance. "Well it's not my fault I had to help an old lady cross the road!" He defended himself with a pout, causing Jiraiya to laugh.

However, he was too late as two shinobis were already removing the said banner. Now knowing he missed his graduation, he slowed his run, but tripped and slides towards the foot of an angry Rin.

Unlike before, she now wore a light purple haori with shuriken patters over it, a belt around her waist and several pouches. Underneath this, she wore a mesh armor and a calf-length sandals.

"I can't believe you were late for both our entrance and graduation ceremonies! Graduation is over!" Rin scolded with a stern tone, as she looked at the defeated, and laying face-first-on-the-ground, form of Obito.

Rin smiled seeing her younger self on the screen.

"Yeah tell him that, Rin!" Kushina cheered, as the others laughed.

He then quickly picked himself from the ground, now kneeling in front of the girl, as he slightly bowed his head. "But there was this old lady…" He reasoned while not meeting the girl's gaze.

Rin softened her gaze, as he continued to look at the boy in front of her while placing her hands on her waist. "You have an awfully high rate of encounters with old people, don't you?" she said with her brows furrowed.

"Lately… I've been getting ambushed by a lot of them" Obito said, while pouting. "That sounds premeditated!" Rin said sternly, doubting his reason. Obito flinched, shortly looked at her, before averting his gaze once more.

"You have to make a more believable lie than that, brat." Jiraiya teased, causing Obito to scowl. "I'm not lying!"

Rin continued to look at him with her brows furrowed, while the sakura petals flowed with the wind around them. She then closed her eyes and sighed, before opening it once more to look at the boy. "Really…" she said, before bending down and clasping the boy's hands from his knee.

"Come on. This way!" Rin said with a smile, as she dragged the sulky Obito inside the academy. Obito looked confused, but obliged as he followed her steady steps towards the empty auditorium. Upon entering, Rin quickly dragged Obito towards the stage, slightly apart while facing each other.

Rin and Obito smiled brightly, knowing what will happen next.

"Here is the graduation certificate for Uchiha Obito!" Rin started while holding the boy's diploma. She then smiled at the now surprised boy, before reading what was stated at the certificate. "This certifies that you have graduated from the Konohagakure no Sato's Shinobi Academy" She continued, as Obito looked at her with teary eyes, touched at what the girl is doing.

"That's so sweet, Rin!" Kushina cheered with teary eyes, while the others merely smiled at the scene.

"Now I can see why he likes her so much." Fugaku whispered to his wife, as she nodded with teary eyes. "She's such a sweet girl!" She added with a smile.

"You are commended for persevering through the rain and wind to reach this milestone!" She finished as she closed her eyes, before opening it and held the diploma for the crying boy to take. "Here! Congratulations!" Rin stated, before smiling brightly at Obito.

"Rin…" Obito quietly muttered with a small blush from his face, as he tried yet fails to held his tears in place. He then quickly wiped his tears using his sleeves before taking the diploma held by the girl and smiling brightly. "Thank you, Rin" He added as he closed his eyes.

Obito smiled at the scene with teary eyes, while Rin beamed brightly at him. 'Thank you so much for that, Rin.' He thought.

"No one's here to watch… But this makes me happier than receiving it from Hokage ji-san!" He wholeheartedly stated. More than happy at Rin's kindness. Rin smiled at him warmly, before placing her hands on her hips.

"We're genin now, so you have to shape up" Rin said sternly. "Yeah, I know" Obito nodded at her. "We'll now be part of a 3-man squad and go on missions, right? Have the teams already been announced?" He questioned.

"Yes, they have" Rin answered. "So, are you and me…" he trailed off nervously.

"Well…" Rin started, before tilting her head downwards. Her bangs covering her face. "Don't tell me… We're on different…" He nervously trailed off, as his brows furrowed while looking sadly at Rin.

"Unfortunately, we're on the same team!" She happily announced, as she looked at him while smiling, catching him off guard. "No way!" Obito excitingly said.

"Yup. I'm stuck looking after you again…" Rin teased while acting disappointed. Obito quickly turned away, holding his fists close to him. "Yes! Yes!" He happily chanted.

Everyone smiled at the scene even Kakashi.

"So that's why Obito likes Rin so much." Kushina whispered to Minato, to which he nodded. "Rin is a very sweet girl. She always makes Obito smile."

The screen flashes again to show both now sitting on a bench in Konohagakure no Sato. Rin can be seen attaching a bandage on the Obito's seemingly injured face. He afterwards, before looking her and saying, "You know, Rin, you saving me… is really the same as you saving the world."

Everyone smiled at the screen, while Obito slightly blushed.

Rin looked confused. "Hmm?" She asked while looking at the boy. The boy blushed, looking away, as he quickly corrected himself, "I mean… It's because I'm gonna become the Hokage and end this war! For me to do that, I have to stay strong and healthy in this world."

"An admirable goal." Hiruzen smiled, as the adults nodded.

He smiled afterwards and gazed at the girl. Rin seemed to ponder for a second, causing him to be nervous, thinking he said something wrong. "You get what I'm saying?" He asked the girl that's looking towards the sky.

The girl smiled and look at the boy. "Yeah! Though you're not making much sense…" She sheepishly said, with a smile never leaving on her face. Obito blushed again at the girl's gaze before looking away. "So, how do I put it…?" He asked while trying to be casual, despite being flustered.

He griped his pants slightly, as he gazed at the floor. "If you don't stay close and keep an eye on me…" He trailed off, looking more flustered than before, while the girl continued to look at him, patiently waiting with a smile. "I mean…" He said, gathering all the courage he could muster before looking back at Rin, only to meet her face mere inches apart.

He heatedly blushed, at her smile before quickly backing away and standing up in surprise. "Y-you got so close all of a sudden!" He stuttered. "Don't scare me like that!"

Rin smiled at herself while Obito madly blushed, causing to adults to laugh at the screen.

"Hey it's not that funny!" He defended while covering his reddened face, causing the laughter to amplify. "Sorry, sorry, Obito!" Kushina said between her giggles, much to Obito's dismay.

"You just said to stay close and keep an eye on you." She pointed out innocently, before giggling. Obito still flustered, just looked at her. "Yeah, I did. So, watch over me." He said, after a few seconds, before turning around and pointing at the Uchiha crest on his back.

"I'm going to wear the Uchiha crest…" He stated before turning around to face the girl. "And definitely become the Hokage!" He continued with pride, before pointing at the visible Hokage mountains behind him and smiling.

"The will of fire burns greatly in your heart, Obito." Hiruzen praised, causing all to smile. 'You have the makings of the Hokage.'

Fugaku smiled proudly before nodding. 'The clan may had misjudged you. But I can see clearly now that you have the most potential in us to become the Hokage.'

Rin, taken back by his words, widened her eyes as she looked at him in surprise. She then closed his eyes, smiling at the same time before clenching her fist and saying, "Okay!"

"I know you can do it, Obito!" Rin cheered, as the others smiled. "Hehe… Thanks, Rin!" He said, although slightly embarrassed.

The scene changed once again to show Obito, running with his new attire. He now wore a long-sleeved blue uniform and a blue jacket with an orange collar and trimmings. The jacket was fastened to the rest of the outfit by two buttons on the collar and had the Uchiha clan crest at the back. He also wore a white belt.

The scene changed to show team 7 without Obito and a frustrated camera man, inside what appears to be a photography studio. "Goodness! How long will you keep me waiting?!" The man angrily said, while Minato tries to appease him. "I beg your pardon! He'll be here shortly." He said, while Rin nervously smiled and Kakashi huffed in the background.

Team 7 smiled, remembering the scene, while Jiraiya snickered. "Late again eh, brat?" He teased, as Obito pouted.

Rin's appearance also changed, as she can now be seen wearing a long-sleeved black top and a light purple apron-skirt, under which she wore black shorts.

"As usual, he's late" Kakashi said to the nervous girl. "Don't worry. He'll be here," she replied. "You're too easy on him, Rin." Kakashi sighed.

Obito's eye twitched in mild annoyance but didn't say anything.

The door then opened to show a tired Obito, with a lollipop in his mouth. Kakashi and the cameraman narrowed their eyes impatiently, Rin smiled, while Minato looked relieved.

Obito heavily breathes, as he apologized, "Sorry I'm late!"

"You're late!" Kakashi stated, as he pointed his thump downwards. "Damn it… it's always like this."

"What did you say?!" Obito argued, while clenching his fist. But before they were able to fight, Minato get in between them to diffuse the situation. "Okay, cut it out." Minato said with a slight smile. "Mr. Genzo is tired of waiting! Hurry and line up" he continued, as he patted Obito on his shoulder.

He then placed his other arm on Kakashi's shoulder, as he dragged the two boys to line in front of the camera, while Rin followed.

The cameraman then went towards the camera as he said, "Alright. Look this way!" Obito and Kakashi looked away from each other with a huff, while Minato nervously smiled. "It's a commemorative photo. Look at the lens!" He said sternly, as he held on both the boys' head to tilt them at the camera. Rin smiled brightly, as she went for a girly pose with both of her fingers forming the peace sign.

Some laughed at the two's antics, while Minato sheepishly scratched the back of his head. "They're really something, ya know." Kushina said with a smile.

The scene transitioned to Obito, now in his room, as he sat on a chair in front of his desk, smiling brightly at the photo he held in his hands. His focus, however, was at only one individual. Rin.

"Oho! What's this?" Jiraiya teased, causing Obito to scowl with a blush on his face, as the others laughed.

The scene changed again to show a distraught Obito, looking at a paper, inside a room full of Shinobi. A large 'Chunin Exam' can be seen largely written on the board, beside a proctor keeping watch over the shinobi's taking the exam.

'Aw man!' Obito thought, while holding his head on both of his hands. 'This is a Chunin Exam, so I was expecting stuff like ninjutsu and taijutsu… But this is a written test… the kind I'm weakest in!' Obito frustratingly mused, as tears was almost visible in his eyes.

"You're really something you know that, brat?" Jiraiya laughed, much to Obito's embarrassment. "Now I'm starting to regret watching this!" He shouted while covering the blush on his face, causing a series of laughter to erupt.

"You really need to be prepared at everything, Obito." Minato said with a smile. "I know, I know, sensei."

He then heard footsteps, so he glanced on his side to notice Kakashi already done with the exam, walking towards the door. "Are you already done?" The proctor asked. "Yes" he answered, as he opened the door and exited the room, before closing it behind.

Kakashi shrugged.

'Th-That Kakashi!' Obito mused to himself, surprised, as he looked back to his empty test sheet. 'Aw man, I'm done for…' He thought, while looking crestfallen.

Suddenly, he felt something hit his foot, garnering his attention. Discretely looking down, he then noticed a crumpled paper hit his foot. Glancing left and right for any proctor watching him, he then quickly picked the paper before opening it.

Upon opening the paper, he saw the answers for the exam written on it. Surprised, he looked at the note written at the bottom of the paper.

I'M ALWAYS WATCHING YOU – RIN

Everyone smiled at the scene. 'Such a sweet girl.' Was the thought of all the adults, while Obito smiled brightly.

"Aww… Now Obito's falling for her more and more." Kushina whispered to Minato with a smile, to which he nodded with a smile of his own. "Rin is always there for him."

Quickly, he looked towards the girl, in front and couple of seats away from him. 'Rin…' He thought, before smiling fondly. With the help of Rin, he answered the questions on his exam paper.

The scene then flashed forward to show Obito and Rin, with countless others in front of the results in the board. Quickly looking at the board, both teammates was happy when they saw Rin's name written on it. "Yeah, I did!" She said, happily. "There it is!" Obito congratulated the girl beside him with a bright smile.

He then looked away, to gaze back at the results. He flinched when he saw Kakashi's name on it.

"Well…" A voice started, garnering the attention of both Rin and Obito. "What did you expect?" Kakashi scoffed, with closed eyes. Obito slightly choked at the cockiness, before he said, "That was just a written test! Just wait and see! I'll find my name!"

Quickly skimming through the names, Obito's confidence slowly dwindled the more names he passed by. Soon, he reached the bottom where the 'End of List' was written, all without finding his name. 'I guess not…' he thought, as his shoulders slumped, defeated and crestfallen that he didn't make it.

Jiraiya loudly laughed, causing Obito's embarrassment to return.

"Obito!" Rin suddenly called, as she looked towards the sulking boy, while holding his shoulder. "Look! There!" She pointed at the list, and soon he followed her gaze. His eyes widened at what he saw.

THE FOLLOWING HAS BEEN ACCEPTED DUE TO VACANCY: UCHIHA OBITO

"Hey atleast I got in! It's what matters!" He defended, causing a series of laughter to erupt once more. "You really are something, brat!" Jiraiya laughed, as Obito's eye twitched for the umpteenth time.

He smiled brightly before leaping up with both of his fists upwards. "I did it!" He cheered loudly.

"A vacancy, huh… That's so like you" Kakashi dryly commented from the back. "What!?" Obito quickly retorted. "Come on you two…" Rin diffused the situation.

Kakashi shrugged, as Obito glared at him. "What? Don't tell me you're still mad about that?" He questioned, while the young Uchiha looked away with a huff.

The scene changed again to show Obito running at the streets once more. Suddenly he saw a tired, old man carrying what seems to be a heavy backpack. Without a second thought, Obito helped the man carry his back towards his destination, The Konoha Hospital. The old man then thanked Obito by giving him a candy.

"Huh, looks like you really weren't lying." Jiraiya stated, as Rin smiled brightly at the scene. "Of course, I'm not!" He proudly said, while the others smiled at him.

"Obito's really kind, ya know." Kushina whispered to Minato, to which he smiled.

The scene changed once again to show Kakashi and Rin waiting for Obito at the entrance of the 44th training ground. "Team Minato, you have five minutes left. Will he make it?" The proctor informed and asked Rin and Kakashi.

"Yes! I'm sure he'll be here in a minute" Rin said, while looking quite unsure herself. "If time runs out, you'll be automatically disqualified," the proctor stated.

"I know it! Didn't I tell you!?" Kakashi annoyingly started, garnering Rin's attention. "You're too easy on him, Rin. That's why he'll never break this habit of being late!"

"He'll be here. Something must've happened to delay him" Rin nervously assured. "He'll make it in time."

Kakashi scoffed. "I wouldn't be too sure," he commented.

"3:00 pm," the proctor started while looking at the clock. "It's time to begin," he continued. Kakashi scoffed. "Damn it, all because of him," he frustratingly said.

"I know he'll…" Rin trailed off, as she looked at the ground. "I'm sorry I'm late!" A voice garnered their attention. Looking towards the road, they saw Obito running towards them. "See! I told you Obito would make it, no matter what!" Rin said with a bright smile, as she clasped both of her hands together.

"Hurry! Before we're disqualified!" Kakashi shouted angrily while pointing at Obito.

"See! You better not doubt me, Bakashi!" Obito shouted while pointing at the young Jonin. "How should I know?!" He retorted while pointing back, causing the others to laugh.

"Okay that's enough you two." Minato lightly scolded with a smile.

The scene flashed forward to show Rin, Kakashi and Obito facing Guy, Ebisu and Genma. "We will now begin part two, the team competition-" the proctor sternly started, while looking at both teams. "Preliminary qualifier!"

Obito looked towards Rin, noticing her confident look. "Begin!" The proctor said, as both teams jumped into positions. Swiftly, Guy ran towards team Minato, as both Kakashi and Rin went to their defensive stances.

Suddenly, Obito dashed forward, hands already forming the seal of his clan's famous jutsu. Kakashi and Rin were both caught off guard. "Katon: Gokakyu- "

But as he inhaled, he suddenly choked on his candy, giving Guy the opportunity to kick him, making him spit the candy and knocking him out.

Jiraiya loudly laughed, while the others sweat dropped, much to Obito's embarrassment. "You shouldn't eat a candy before the exam, Obito." Minato said, as the young Uchiha pouted.

The scene changed again to show 'Chunin Exam Part Three: Individual Competition.' Obito and Guy can now be seen facing each other at the arena.

"I'm going to have you pay me back in full for the last time" Obito confidently said to Guy, as he pointed his thumb downwards. "The 'last' time?" Guy questioned, as he tilted his head to the side and placed his chin on his hand.

"What!?" Obito choked. "Don't tell me you don't remember me?"

"Who are you? What did I do to earn your wrath?" Guy questioned, which blew Obito's pride. "Why you-! Don't take me for a fool!" Obito irritatingly said.

The other's laughed at Guy's antics while Obito merely frowned, knowing what's about to occur.

"Do your best, Obito!" Rin cheered from the sidelines, garnering his attention. He smiled brightly at Rin, immediately forgetting his anger at Guy. "Alright! Just watch me!"

"Begin!" the proctor called out while raising a red flag. "Huh?" Obito snapped back, only to be kicked again by Guy on his face, knocking him out. "What is he doing?" Kakashi sighed beside a worried Rin, as the two watched Obito lose.

Jiraiya, just like before, laughed while the others sweat dropped once more. "Again, you shouldn't be distracted like that, Obito." Minato said, as Obito pouted.

"Sorry again for distracting you, Obito." Rin apologized, to which he brushed off once more. "No, no, it's not really your fault, Rin!" He sheepishly said, while Rin's brow furrowed. "But- "

"No really! It's fine!" He said, while scratching the back of his head.

The scene then transitioned to show a sulky obito with a bandage on his eye, beside Rin who's watching Kakashi's match. Obito looks at Rin to notice that she's slightly blushing. "Do your best!" she cheered out to Kakashi. "Go! Kakashi!"

Unbeknownst to her, Obito continued to watch her, as he noticed her pupils dilate. 'She likes him, huh,' he bitterly thought, as he frowned and his brows furrowed.

Rin blushed, as Obito paled. 'Even this!?'

"Oho this is starting to get juicy!" Jiraiya whispered to Tsunade, to which she chuckled.

"Winner Hatake Kakashi!" the proctor loudly stated, signaling the end of the match. "He did it!" Rin cheered loudly, still not noticing Obito's gaze on her.

"Poor Obito" Kushina said to Minato, causing him to smile sadly. "Don't worry, I know someday Rin would finally notice him."

The scene changed to show Kakashi with his new Chunin vest and certificate in front of a happy Rin, while Obito just crossed his arms, at the back. "You passed the Chunin Exam of your first try. Kakashi, you're amazing!" Rin congratulated as she looked back at Obito. "Isn't he Obito?"

Obito just scoffed, as he looked away. He then placed his hands on his pockets as he walked away from the two, while the afternoon sky melted over the three.

"Obito…" Rin muttered, while worryingly looking at the boy, as she clasped her hands together.

The scene changed again to show Obito, now laying on the bench he frequented at, as the skies turned orange, signaling the upcoming night. He looked sadly at the painted sky, as he sighed before closing his eyes.

"So, this is where you were!" Rin suddenly said, her smiling face inches away from his, when he opened his eyes. Silence, only befell the two before Obito finally gathered his senses. He shouted in surprise, while quickly sitting and moving away from Rin.

Some silently chuckled, while Rin and Obito intently watched the scene.

"O-oh it's you, Rin." He said, before quickly looking away. Rin looked at him sadly, before slightly smiling. "It's only natural for Kakashi to pass. But we can too, I know it!" She said. Obito looked at her, slightly surprised.

"Let's practice hard for next year!" she continued, while Obito looked back down. "But it's hard to get motivated after watching Kakashi…" He trailed off.

"What are you saying!?" Rin suddenly said, surprising him. She then sat down beside him and looked at his eyes. "You're going to be Hokage, right?" She questioned with a smile. Obito looked surprised, as she continued, "I'm always watching you!"

"You need to stop doubting yourself, brat." Jiraiya started, as he crossed his arms. He then smiled as he said, "I should know, I was once like you before."

The others smiled at the sannin's kind words. "He's right." Tsunade added, causing Obito to slightly smile. "Thanks."

Obito looked taken aback, as faint blush formed on his cheeks. He then smiled brightly, as he stated, "Yeah!"

The scene transitioned once again to show Obito vigorously training under the cold weather of snow. Soon, the season changed back to spring, as cherry blossom befell on the roads of Konoha. Rin and Kakashi can be seen waiting outside the Hokage tower.

Rin looked worried, while Kakashi looked bored. The door finally opened to reveal a sad looking Obito with his hands on his back. His appearance seemed worry Rin ay she asked, "Obito?"

Obito suddenly looked up and smiled as he threw his Chunin vest and certificate upwards while yelling, "I did it! I'm a chunin now!"

Everyone smiled at the scene. "See, I told you." Jiraiya said, as Obito nodded with a bright smile.

"Congratulations!" Rin cheered, as she held her hands together. Kakashi just scoffed. Rin then went towards Obito as she signaled him to come closer.

Obito obliged and lend an ear at her. "Meet me at the park, under the cherry tree" she happily whispered on his ear with a slight blush. Obito blushed, as he smiled widely.

Obito then paled, as his eyes widened in horror. "OH NO, OH NO, OH NO! DON'T TELL ME!" He shouted while wailing his hands in the air.

The other's looked at him but before anyone could ask him what's wrong, the scene changed once more.

Obito can now at their meeting place. He held a bouquet of Roses in his hands as he thought, 'Today for sure! I'm going to tell Rin how I feel about her!'

"NO!" He shouted in horror while covering his mad blush. 'It's over!'

Everyone's eyes widened, as they looked towards the now reddened boy but one in particular stood out the most. "Obito… You like me?" Rin asked him with equally wide eyes, as a massive blush adorned her face.

Obito didn't meet her gaze and instead, covered his face while looking away. "Obito, why didn't you tell me?" She asked with pleading eyes. "I-I u-uh ah, j-just watch the scene." He stuttered, still avoiding her gaze.

He then noticed Rin running and waving towards him, as he hid the bouquet at his back. "Sorry I'm late" she apologized with a smile. "No- " He tried to assure her, but was caught off when he heard Rin say, "Everyone!"

"Everyone?" Obito questioned and was surpised to see the others gathered before him. "Why, uh why? Why is everyone here?" He questioned, while looking confused.

"I asked them to come to discuss the gift" Rin answered with a smile. "Huh? What gift?" Obito questioned again, still hiding the flowers on his back. "Well, Kakashi is being promoted to Jonin-" she trailed off while picking a stack of papers from her bag.

She then handed a paper to others, before finally handing one to Obito. "So, we're going to give him a present" she continued. Obito then read the paper.

CLASS PROJECT: GIFT FOR KAKASHI'S PROMOTION TO JONIN (TOP SECRET MISSION)

"Kakashi's a Jonin?" he questioned Rin. "Oh, didn't you know, Obito? It's something to be proud as his classmates" she said with a smile.

"Yeah…" Obito said with a smile although it didn't reach his eyes. He then dropped the bouquet, as he listened to Rin talking to Kurenai. "What do you think Kakashi would like?" She inquired with a small blush. Obito continued to smile sadly, as he stood alone, while his flowers were on the ground, long forgotten.

'Tough luck, brat.' Jiraiya thought while frowning. 'Poor Obito' Mikoto and Kushina sadly thought, as they and the others looked towards the two in anticipation.

"Obito…" Rin started after a few second of silence. "I'm sorry, Obito." She said while looking down, as some tears started to fall from her eyes. "I'm sorry I-I didn't noticed. I-I'm sorry for hurting you." She continued, while gripping her hands together.

"I-I, no it's not your fault, Rin!" Obito panickily said to her while waving his hands, as he looked at her with sad eyes and a blush on his face. "It's fine. I'm okay now, see."

She looked at him while wiping some of her tears. Obito gulped, as the blush on his face grew. "I said I'm always watching you… But I wasn't able to notice that." She started, before shyly reaching out to reach Obito's hand.

Obito's blush grew more. "R-Rin!? Seriously you don't need to do this because you feel pity or- "

"No!" She cut him off, slightly surprising him. "I want to do this not because of pity but because I want to give you a chance. I said I'm always watching you but deep down it's the other way around. You were always watching me." She said with a slight blush, causing Obito's eyes to widen.

"R-Really?" She shyly nodded, to which he smiled brightly despite his red face. "O-Okay." He weakly said, as he tightened his grip on her hand, causing their blush to grow.

Jiraiya then whistled at the two. "My, my, now that two are done, I believe we should continue. Hagoromo-sama even paused the screen just for you two." He teased, causing the two's blush to grow fiercer than before.

'Took you long enough.' Kakashi thought with a small smile.

Everyone looked at the two with a small smile, before Hiruzen nodded to Hagoromo to continue.

The scene then transitioned to show Team Minato in a forest, watching each other's back, forming a circle. Suddenly a volley of shurikens rapidly approached the three. Quickly, Obito and Kakashi sprang into action. They repelled each and every shuriken with their kunais.

Obito smiled, but suddenly sweated nervously when he saw a shuriken, piercing his left hand. He quickly and lamely attempted to hide it from his back, so that his two teammates wouldn't notice but Rin saw it.

"Well… I guess that's it!" He suspiciously said, as Rin glared at him. She then approached him causing him to smiled nervously while flinching under her stern gaze. "Show me your left hand," she sternly ordered him.

Jiraiya chuckled lightly, while Tsunade huffed. "Acting tough, huh."

Hey, it's nothing… It's just a scrape. A little spit would take care of it." He tried to play it off, as his injured hand twitched in pain at his back. Yet Rin wouldn't let him as she ordered him once more, "Whatever! Just show me!"

His smile fell from his face, as he obliged. Rin then took the kunai, as she disinfected his hand, before wrapping it with a bandage. "I messed up, I got some sand in my eyes and…" He trailed off, after a few seconds of silence, while Rin continued to bandage his hand.

"Now you're just lying. How can you catch sand in your eyes when you're wearing goggles?" Jiraiya teased, causing Obito to pout, while Rin merely smiled.

Rin glared at him, still angry and not believing his reason. Obito gulped, under her gaze, as his brows furrowed. "A scar or two on a man is a badge of courage! I was just thinking how I needed that." He stated after a second, while forcing an obvious fake smile. "So, this wound's- "

Rin, suddenly tightened the bandage on his hand, causing him to flinch in pain.

"What's with men always trying to act tough?" Tsunade questioned, while some of the men in the room laughed nervously. "I agree." Mikoto and Kushina said at the same time.

Rin, still glaring, looked at Obito's eyes, while the boy, clearly ashamed of himself, furrowed his brows. The two continued to gaze at each other, before Rin finally broke the silence. "Don't act tough and hide your wounds." She trailed off, as her glare turned to a worried look. "I'm always watching you."

"You promised me that you would become Hokage, Obito." she continued with such conviction, while Obito tried to quell his tears. "Listen, I want to stop this war too. I really want to save the world. So, I decided to stick by your side and watch over you."

"You told me saving you was the same as saving the world, remember?" She questioned, as Obito's flinched, tears freely falling on his face, touched at what she said. "Yeah…" He meekly replied, as Rin smiled.

Since I'm keeping an eye on you, you can't hide anything from me anymore." She said, as Obito nodded while closing his eyes. "Okay! Okay!" He complied while wiping his tears using his sleeve from his other hand.

"Go for it, Obito! Become the Hokage and show me how you'll save the world! That's another promise!" Rin cheered with a smile, as she clenched his other hand.

She then dragged Obito using the hand she still held, towards their teammates, as the screen finally turned black.

"See, Rin? That's why Obito loves you so much!" Kushina said, causing the two to blush once again. "Sometimes… All it takes for somebody to fall in love with you is by taking care of them." She continued, as she held Minato's hand.

Rin nodded. "I see that now, Kushina-san." She said as she smiled warmly at Obito, causing him to blush once more.

"Now that were done with the first past, I believe a brake is in order." Hagoromo said, as a door appeared on the left of the room, slightly surprising everyone. "This door leads to the dining area where a kitchen and a bathroom is located." He continued before a door appeared again on the right side of the room.

"This door leads to the bedroom where you can take a rest if you do desire." He finished, as the shinobi's stood up and went on their own ways.

An: This was supposed to be a short and lighthearted story yet it is far harder and longer than any of the chapters from my main fic, A Bird's Eye. Welp it's too late to back out now.

First thing's first, to all those who follow A Bird's Eye, don't worry! I'm still rewriting the Chapter 4 so rest assured it's not in Hiatus. I'm just having a hard time how would I approach the story, so I guess this fic would help relieve me for a bit.

Second, I wrote this fic because I want to improve my writing for the better. As to why this fic will serve as a practice, in which I can hopefully improve. (Although this is less detailed than A Bird's Eye).

Third, I wrote this story because Obito is my favorite character of all time, up there followed shortly by Makoto Yuki/Minato Arisato of the Persona franchise. I'm also bummed because I don't see much of Obito x Rin stories which I desperately craves so I wrote this. Hopefully in the future I would be able to write a more serious fic about the two but in the meantime, I guess this would do.

Lastly, if you want me to continue this story be sure to tell it to me via PM's or the review below. I will also appreciate it if you review this, tell me if I did something right or wrong, so that I could improve. I'm still not sure whether the next chapter of this would be Kakashi Gaiden or a short, break chapter about Rin and Obito fluff so be sure to tell me what you think!

Again, thank you for reading this! That is all and buh-bye!
