Whenever she felt good, or at least well enough to get out of bed, Specter always got assigned to a new mission. Although she didn't hate it, she sometimes wondered if it was alright for her to be out and about every time she was doing a bit better. But she didn't want to think about it that much. Soon, she wouldn't remember she was on a mission in the first place.

It was a simple patrol mission. Look around and then report to the doctor if there were any anomalies. Or something like that. Specter couldn't remember what the report said very well.

She was paired with someone rather different this time around, that person being none other than Skadi. She knew that she wasn't normally assigned to missions like this due to her condition, but she wasn't going to complain. It meant that she could enjoy herself for a bit.

They walked around for a while in complete silence, looking around to see if everything was the way it was supposed to be. Specter figured out that Skadi wasn't very talkative while they were patrolling. Not a single word came out of her, not even a noise. Maybe she really didn't want to talk to her at all. That, or she was simply enjoying her company. In her own way that is.

She couldn't tell, seeing how she wasn't very expressive at all. And it wasn't helping that she kept looking away from her the whole time.

Specter sighed, finally deciding to start a conversation with her. Even if it was just for a bit before their patrol was over, she didn't mind. After all, she liked being around her for some reason.

"Care to tell me a little bit more about yourself?" Specter said while walking towards her, trying to get a glimpse of her face. "Or maybe how your day went?"

"Shouldn't I be asking you that question?" Skadi answered, looking at her before turning her eyes away.

"Not in the mood to talk?"

"That's... Not what it is."

"Well even if it's just for a bit, I'd like to talk. About anything." Specter said, stepping in front of her with a sly smile on her face. Skadi couldn't help but open her eyes a bit, realizing how long it had been since she last saw her smile.

She missed it.

She sighed, deciding to give in. As long as it wasn't anything serious, maybe they could have a normal conversation. Whatever fell into the "normal" category anyways.

Although, she did think Specter looked very cute, while trying to see if she could look at her face. She always liked that smile of hers, no matter the situation.

"Oh, am I cute?" Specter said, her smile becoming wider.

Skadi immediately looked at her, realizing she accidently spoke that aloud. Clutching her hat, she looked away from her and started walking.

"Yes, yes you are." She whispered, picking up her pace in hopes of trying to get away from Specter as soon as possible. It had been a while since she was this embarrassed and she definitely didn't want her to see her flustered face.

Specter bursted out laughing, picking up the pace as she tried to catch up with her. She was trying to see if she could get a glimpse of her face again.

"How amusing!"

Well that was embarrassing, Skadi thought to herself. After putting herself on the spot, Specter didn't stop trying to get close to her. She just wanted to see her flustered face again. She might care about her a lot, more than she'd want to admit, but even that was too much for Skadi. She definitely didn't like being that exposed in public.

And definitely not in front of her of all people.

Although that smile of hers was very cute.

She shook her head, thinking it wasn't a good idea to think about it too much.

If she was able to stop herself.

When Specter woke up, she felt extremely weak. She was exhausted. After all, she had been throwing up for a good while. After patrolling with Skadi a couple of days ago, which she surprisingly was able to remember, her body decided to mess with her. All she could recall was feeling terrible, not being able to get up or do anything at all, and one other person.

She also remembered an embarrassed Skadi trying to run away from her.

She couldn't recall how many days it had been. She just knew she felt like something ran over her. She definitely wasn't going to be out and about for a while. Those were the feelings she was used to waking up to.

But she definitely wasn't expecting to wake up to this.

When she looked to her side, she saw her. Laying there was Skadi, sleeping soundly. Her arms were on the bed, holding her head while she sat on the chair beside it. She turned her head a bit further, trying not to move too much in hopes of not waking her up. She glanced at her sword which was behind the chair. It honestly looked like it was placed there in a rush, seeing as how it could fall on top of her at any second. Specter smiled, thinking about how funny it would be to see her get woken up by her sword falling on her face. If that was even possible, anyways.

How did she even get in her room in the first place? Did Dr. Kal'tsit tell her how she was doing? Or did she want to check on her? Specter didn't really know and she didn't want to think about it. Her head still hurt and her stomach wasn't cooperating either.

She then turned her eyes to the sleeping figure in front of her. She honestly didn't mind her being there, but Specter would've appreciated remembering how she got in. Needless to say, she wasn't complaining. It was a rare sight after all. Skadi was always very serious around everyone and never dared to show her emotions in front of people. She wondered if it was because of her background. She didn't know that either.

But looking at her sleeping face was something completely different from the normal Skadi. It brought her a sense of comfort, somehow making her feel at home.

Like she always made her feel, even if Skadi didn't realize that.

Mustering up a bit of her leftover strength, she rose her arm a bit, gently rubbing Skadi's head. Her hair was extremely soft, just how she imagined it. Their hair colors were very similar and she always thought they were pretty. She smiled at the thought and looked at her, whispering before closing her eyes again.

"You are very cute yourself, you know?"
