Mario And Sonic Olympic Games belongs to its respective owners. I only own Rachel.

Having Fun At The Winter Olympics

Max was practically dancing in place. "Come on, Rach!" He said eagerly.

She laughed. "Okay, I'm coming," she said. "Goodness. You remind me of my sister. She gets impatient when she's excited."

"I just don't want to miss it," the boy said.

They had learned from Rachel's Wisp that there was going to be the winter olympics going on in Sonic's world and Max wanted to join in. Pressing her watch that allowed the Wisp to form the portal, the two walked through. "I'm going to go find a good seat to watch," Rachel said before hugging Max. "Good luck."

"I really hope they'll let me participate," the boy said.

As the two parted ways, Max went looking for Shadow and Omega, his two best friends. He spotted Sonic and Mario talking to each other and the blue hedgehog smiled at him. "Hey, you must be Max," he said. "Shadow and Omega told me about you."

"Hi, Sonic," the boy said.

"Ah, this is the boy that faced the bullies?" Mario said with a smile. "Hello, and welcome."

"Thank you," the boy said with a smile. "Do you guys know where Shadow and Omega are?"

"They're in the locker rooms with Eclipse," Sonic said, pointing to his left. "Just go past the concession stand and turn left. The locker rooms will be right in front of you."

"Thanks," the boy said.

Following the directions, the boy found the locker rooms and went into the section marked 'Men'. He glanced inside, seeing Knuckles and Espio were both warming up. Both glanced up at him as he came in. "Hi, I'm looking for Shadow and Omega," the boy said to them.

"They're over there," Knuckles said, pointing to his right. "You must be Max, then."

The boy nodded. "Thanks, Knuckles," he said before heading in the direction the echidna had pointed in.

"Hmm. He seems to be like our other allies," Espio said quietly.

"From how Omega was bragging about him, I'm not surprised," the echidna said.

Max finally found Shadow and Omega. "Shadow! Omega!" He said happily, running up to them.

They turned in surprise but then smiled. "Max!" Shadow called out in a friendly voice, letting the boy hug him before the boy hugged Omega, who returned the hug.

"Hello, Max," said the robot. "Are you here to cheer someone on?"

"Actually, I was hoping if you guys knew if I could participate," the boy said. "I really want to."

Shadow smiled. "Well, it just so happens that we're down a teammate," he said. "Our team was supposed to be myself, Omega, Eclipse, and Rouge, but Rouge is sick. And we need four people to compete."

Eclipse looked at the boy, curious. "This is the one you both mentioned the other day?" He asked curiously.

"Yeah, this is Max," Omega said. "Max, this is Eclipse. He used to be with the Black Arms, but switched sides."

The boy nodded. "I remember that," he said. "And I think you're cool, Eclipse."

The Darkling seemed relieved to hear that the boy liked him despite knowing about his past. Shadow smiled. "Max sees past all that," he said. "Which makes him a good friend." He turned to the boy. "So, you want to be our fourth teammate?"

Max lit up. "For real?" He asked excitedly. "Yes!"

"Awesome!" Shadow said, holding up his hand for a high five, which the boy gave him.

Omega looked a little down, which Max noticed. "Omega, what's wrong?" He asked.

"Well," the robot began, looking sheepish. "I...I don't know anything about bobsledding or ice skating," he admitted. "This is the first time I'll be competing in these games."

Eclipse looked down too. "Same here, but I'm afraid I don't know what those are too," he admitted.

The boy was curious. "How come?" He asked.

"Well, I was always focused on missions with Shadow," Omega explained.

"And I'm the last of the Black Arms who don't know much about human activity," Eclipse explained. "Plus, the games are held in a limited number of places, so this is the first time either me or Omega has had a chance to compete in them."

Max fell into thought before looking at Shadow. "How much time do we have before the start of the Olympics?" He asked.

"They start tomorrow afternoon officially," the hedgehog said. "Today's mostly practice and warm-ups."

"Then we've got time," the boy said. "I know about bobsledding and ice skating. I can teach you guys."

"Really?" Eclipse asked.

"Sure!" Max said with a smile.

"That would be great," Omega admitted.

They started with skating and that was quite something to see as Omega and Eclipse tried their best, but kept falling down. Shadow decided to help Omega and Max went to help Eclipse. It took a few tries, but the two finally got their balances, but unfortunately, that didn't last long.

"Max! I'm slipping!" Eclipse cried out before his feet shot forward and he fell down, tripping the boy, who grunted and landed on the Darkling's chest as they spun around for a little bit before Eclipse tried again to get up, but fell down.

Max smiled. "Here, hold on," he said, helping him back up before they heard a yelp and a thud, turning to see what had happened.

Omega had felt himself lose his balance. "Shadow!" He cried out before he fell and hit the ice hard, bumping into Shadow and tripping him, making the dark hedgehog fall onto the robot's chest. The hedgehog yelped in surprise as he landed and they spun in a circle for a bit.

Max tried not to laugh and Eclipse was having a hard time not laughing. "You and Shadow make it look so easy," he said.

"You just have to find your balance," the boy said as Shadow helped Omega up.

After the skating lesson, they went onto bobsledding. "You just sit in the bobsled and lean with the corners to go faster," Max said. "The faster you go, the faster you'll reach the bottom of the slope. The judges time you on how long it takes you to reach the bottom."

Eclipse volunteered to go first and ran with the bobsled before jumping onto it, taking the first turn well, but overcorrecting and spilling out of the bobsled, landing head first into a snowbank, his legs pinwheeling in the air as he tried to get free, but couldn't. Shadow laughed before getting an idea. "Hey, Max. Did you know Eclipse is ticklish?" He asked.

"No," the boy said. "He is?"

Shadow nodded. "Go for his hips. He can't stand it."

Giggling, the boy took off, going up to Eclipse and tickling the Darkling's hips, making him squirm and laugh, his laughter loud even though his head was in the snow. "HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEY! WHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO?!" He laughed out.

"It's me, Eclipse," the boy said. "And I've got you!"

"NOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO! MAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAX!" Eclipse laughed out.

As this was going on, Omega tried the bobsled too, but overcorrected after the second turn and plowed head first into a snow drift, stuck as he tried to get leverage to get his head free, but the snow was a little slippery and he couldn't get any leverage. Shadow smirked at seeing this and went over to his friend. "A bit stuck there, Omega?" He asked.

"Yes," the robot said. "Can you help me get free, Shadow?"

"Sure," the dark hedgehog said before chuckling and kneeling down, his gloved fingers wiggling into Omega's knees, making the robot squeak and laugh.

"SHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHADOW! NOHOHOHOHOHO!" He pleaded.

Shadow smirked. "You got stuck and you think I'm going to waste an opportunity to get you?" He asked with a chuckle, tickling his friend's knees faster.

After a bit, both Shadow and Max helped their friends get free and they continued the training, showing the two hockey, snowball fights, snowboarding, curling, and other sports that were included in the Olympics. By the time evening came on, Omega and Eclipse had gotten better and were ready for the games. "It's going to be a great day tomorrow," Shadow said as they got ready for bed.

"I'm looking forward to it," Eclipse said with a smile.

"Same here," said Omega.

"Me too," Max said before they fell asleep.

The next morning dawned a beautiful day and the games started off with a bang. The fans were in the stands cheering on their favorites and it was so exciting to see that it seemed the day flew by. It was soon time to announce the winners.

"And the winners of the Winter Olympics are...the team of Max, Shadow, Omega, and Eclipse!" The announcer said.

The crowd went wild with cheering and Rachel was among them, cheering loudly before she managed to escape the crowd and see if she could go see the winners in the winner's circle. The officials kindly let her in and she went up to the winners, smiling proudly at them as they stood proudly with their gold medals. "I knew you guys could do it," she said.

Max hugged her in excitement. "We did it!" He cheered.

"We couldn't have done it without you, Max," Shadow said.

"He's right," Eclipse said.

"Thanks to you, Eclipse and I were able to compete," Omega said, lifting the boy up onto his shoulders. "You helped us to win."

The crowd continued cheering as the excitement and parties to celebrate lasted long into the night.
