Chapter 1: Worlds Fall

Destiny Islands.

It was nearing the end of the day and Sora felt a deep sense of accomplishment. The raft that he and his best friends, Riku and Kairi had been working on for the past few weeks was finally completed. All the supplies had been gathered and tomorrow, they could finally set out and see the rest of the worlds. For years, it had been Sora's dream to see what was beyond Destiny Islands instead of just playing on the island, pretending to go on grand quests. Soon, they would be having a real adventure, not just pretending to have one, as they had always dreamed of since they were small.

Riku had already left the island to rest for the journey tomorrow. Kairi had wanted to stay and watch the sunset and Sora decided to keep her company until she was ready to return home. The two of them sat on the edge of the dock watching the sun slowly set. "You know," Kairi began to say, "Riku has changed," she said softly.

"What do you mean?" Sora asked and Kairi seemed to be at a loss for words. "Well…" she tried to say.

"You okay?" Sora asked her in concern. Kairi then suddenly said, "Sora, let's take the raft and go. Just the two of us!" she exclaimed.

"What?!" Sora spluttered in shock wondering what had come over Kairi while trying to hide a blush at the thought of being alone with her.

Kairi then started giggling.

"Just kidding!"

"What's gotten into you?" Sora asked her. "You're the one who's changed, Kairi," he said.

"Maybe…" Kairi whispered softly. "You know, I was afraid at first, but now I'm ready," she said her violet blue eyes filling with determination. "No matter where I go, or what I see, I know I can always come back here," she stated before she looked at Sora and asked, "Right?"

"Yeah, of course!" replied Sora with no hesitation in his voice. Kairi turned to look back at the sunset.

"Sora? Don't ever change," Kairi then said.

"Huh?" Sora looked at Kairi oddly. Kairi then stood up from her spot. "I just can't wait, once we set sail," she said to herself. "It'll be great," she added with a smile.

"You want me to take you home?" Sora asked her shyly. Kairi giggled and replied, "Thank you, but I don't wanna leave my boat here all night, but thanks for the offer," she said kindly. A few minutes later, Kairi returned to the main island and Sora not long after her.

Sora entered the house and called out, "Mom? I'm home!"

Sora's mother walked into view with a smile on her lips. "Hey, kiddo, how was your day?" she asked as she briefly rubbed the top of Sora's head with one hand affectionately.

"It was good, Mom," replied Sora.

"So, you and your friends are finally setting out to see the worlds tomorrow on your raft?" Sora's mother asked with a knowing smile.

Sora blanched. "How did you…?" he tried to ask shocked at his mother knew. They had promised not to tell their parents what they were going to do, telling them that they were going to spend the week on the play island. Their parents would without doubt try to stop them from leaving the Islands if they knew the real reason.

Sora's mother gave a mysterious and knowing smile. "I'm your mother, I know everything," she said simply. When Sora tried to say something, she cut him off, "Don't worry, I'm not going to stop you," she said. Sora looked up at her in surprise and confusion. "Your father wanted to do the same thing at your age, but his uncle held him back until he was eighteen…"

Sora's mother knelt so that she was eye level with Sora. "You two are so much alike," she murmured softly, looking almost sad. Sora frowned, "You keep telling me that and that he loves me, but if he did, then why did he leave?" he asked.

Sora's mother smile turned sad and she said, "Your father had his reasons… and well… I can't tell you just yet."

"When are you gonna stop treating me like a kid?" Sora whined.

An amused grin cracked on his mother's lips as she replied, "If I did, I wouldn't let you go off on that raft now, would I?" she said before she sighed.

"Sora, when I was younger, I made a lot of bad choices and did a lot of bad things… things that in hindsight, I wish I could take back. Things that I have to live with for the rest of my life and have paid dearly for. The worlds may not be as safe as they once were, and your father had a feeling that something big was coming. He left to try and stop it, but I fear it may already be too late. All I can say to you is to be careful and may your heart be your guiding key," she said.

"What does that mean?" Sora asked. Sora's mother smiled fondly and ruffled his hair. "Just wash up and be ready. Dinner's in five," she said.

Sora headed up to his room and washed his hands before laying back on his bed to wait until dinner was ready. Soon, he and Kairi and Riku would be off to explore the outside worlds.

"I just can't wait, until we set sail. It'll be great." Kairi's voice echoed in Sora's mind then looking out the window, Sora saw a large dark storm brewing over the play island. "A storm? Oh, no! The raft!" Sora gasped.

Quickly opening his bedroom window, Sora climbed down and ran towards the dock to his boat just as his mother called, "Sora! Dinner's ready! Sora?"

Sora's mother looked out the window and saw her son already rowing across the ocean towards the play island where dark clouds rumbled and thundered overhead. Sighing sadly, she said, "Things are in motion… it was foolish to hope this day would never come," she whispered to herself before looking out at her son for what could be the last time. "Be safe, my son… and May the Force be with you."

Pentos.

A young man with silver-white hair and purple eyes, dressed in a mixture of leather and mail and armed with a sparring sword, fought against an older man with red hair. The blunted steel blades of their practice weapons clashed and the sound of steel ringing on steel rang out in the training yard they were. The silver-haired boy was sweating and gritted his teeth in frustration as he clashed against his older and stronger opponent. His opponent was sweating also, and his face was red with exertion as he gave out broad swings with his weapon.

The silver-haired youth backed away from the broad swings and thrust his sparring sword at his opponent's chest. The redheaded man shuffled back to avoid the blow and the silver-haired youth pressed the advantage, slashing with his practice blade. The redhead blocked the strikes before going into a sword-lock and pressed hard against the silver-haired youth. The youth struggled against his much stronger opponent before falling to one knee and in a surge of desperation, he slid between his opponent's legs and leapt onto his back, going for a headlock in a bid to strangle the man into submission.

The shaggy haired redhead grabbed the silver-haired lad and threw him to the floor, making a loud thudding sound. The silver-haired youth groaned in pain and panted hard. His opponent laughed and said, "Nice try, Young Griff. Might've worked, too, on someone smaller than I," he japed.

"Had to try, didn't I?" Young Griff said as he slowly got to his feet and wiped his brow clean of sweat. "I wonder how many more years of training it will take for me to beat you, Ser Rolly," he said.

"Well, you've been doing well, lad," replied Ser Rolly. "Much as I hate to admitit, you've been pushing me hard, forcing me to teach you things that most knights would look down on," he said. "But I'll tell you now, the things I've taught you will save your life in a real battle," he added.

"I don't doubt that, Duck," Young Griff said using his teacher's nickname. "With the way things are going, I might make you a Kingsguard," he japed.

Ser Rolly chortled before replying, "I doubt Old Griff will like that. He'd rather you make the son of some great lord a Kingsguard before me," he said.

"Are you saying that Old Griff doesn't like you?" Young Griff asked in concern.

"Oh, he likes and respects me well enough, lad, but he's a lord and I'm a humble blacksmith who knows how to swing a sword. There's a big difference there," replied Ser Rolly.

"One of the first ever Kingsguard was a hedge knight, Ser Humfrey the Mummer. No doubt he was of the smallfolk but he became one of the first Kingsguard to guard Aegon the Conqueror," said Young Griff. "Then there was Ser Duncan the Tall, a hedge knight himself, of the smallfolk and likely bastard-born as well. Yet he rose to become Lord Commander of Aegon the Fifth's Kingsguard," he added.

"And besides, I'd much rather have someone I've known and trusted my whole life to guard me than the spoilt pampered son of a lord who's never lifted anything heavier than a spoon or quill," Young Griff then said.

"Now you're acting like a dragon, Young Griff," Ser Rolly japed. "But, in any case, it's a topic for another time," he said. "The Cheesemonger told me that it was your nine-and-tenth nameday today and that he had some gifts for you," he added.

"Oh, I nearly forgot," Young Griff muttered.

"Well, it wouldn't do to forget your own nameday now, would it?" Ser Rolly japed. "Get yourself cleaned up, lad," he ordered and Young Griff hurried off to wash up and make himself look presentable.

Then the distant sound of thunder rumbling made itself known, and Ser Rolly looked up at the sky and saw darkening clouds.

"An omen?" Ser Rolly asked himself before shaking his head. He was never good with omens, so he brushed it from his mind.

Metropolis City.

Karen Starr entered her apartment and was greeted by her cat Stinky who meowed and rubbed himself against her leg. Smiling fondly, Karen bent down to give the orange tabby a scratch behind the ear before standing straight and putting her bag of groceries down on the kitchen bench. Slipping off her heels, Karen sighed in relief after a long day at work. Karen was the CEO of Starr-Ware, an up and coming technology company that was making big waves in the tech industry of Earth. What most people didn't know was that Karen Starr was no ordinary young woman and not just in the looks department.

Karen Starr's real name was Kara Zor-El of the House of El of the deceased planet Krypton. To sum it up, Kara/Karen was an alien. Years before, Kara's father and uncle, Zor-El and Jor-El had detected that Krypton's core was destabilising and soon the planet would implode and destroy all life on it. Zor-El and Jor-El presented their findings to the Council of Krypton, but the Council refused to heed them, preferring to listen to the newly developed computer AI system the Brain-Interactive-Construct, or Brainiac for short. The AI told the Council that there was nothing to worry about and recommended that Jor-El and Zor-El be stripped of their positions.

Even though they were declared fear-mongers and were disgraced. Jor-El and Zor-El had already made plans to evacuate their children to safety. Jor-El's infant son, Kal-El and Kara herself. The plan was for the two of them to be sent to another planet where Kara would be Kal-El's protector. But as Kara was put into the ship that would send her to safety, Krypton began to implode and following the destruction of Krypton, Kara's ship was knocked off course where she underwent hyper-sleep putting her in a state of suspended animation.

When she finally came to, her ship had crash landed on the planet she was meant to arrive on and she was found by her own cousin who was now a full-grown man and a hero to the planet he called home known as Superman, the Man of Tomorrow to name but one of many titles. After the initial confusion and having to grow up on the safety of Kent Farm where her cousin was raised as the niece of Jonathon and Martha Kent as Karen. She even did a few years as Superman's sidekick, Supergirl.

And when she graduated highschool, Karen was set on making her own name in the world of costumed heroics, but she didn't want to be seen as a sidekick to the Man of Steel any longer. After visiting the Fortress of Solitude and playing around with some designs for anew costume, Karen found one that suited her needs and she emerged to the world as Power Girl the Maiden of Might.

When not wearing the tights, Karen was also making headlines as Karen Starr the newly minted billionaire and CEO of Starr-Ware which specialised in technology and computer science.

So far it had been easy to juggle time between running her own tech company and costumed heroics and it helped that Kal or Clark as he preferred was around to help and give advice, but it didn't leave a lot of time for any meaningful relationships romance wise. To be certain, Karen had more than her share of admirers and she certainly had the looks to go with what she had, but most guys were only interested in her for either her money or a one-night-stand.

But in any case, Karen wasn't looking for anything serious for now and quite simply didn't have time to pursue a relationship.

As Karen opened up her fridge to search for something to eat, her phone buzzed meaning it had received a message. Taking out a container of left over Chinese takeout, Karen turned on her phone and read the message. It was from Clark.

Clark: How's business holding up?

Karen texted back.

Karen: It's going good. The meeting with Ted Kord and Michael Holt is scheduled for next week. Hopefully it goes well.

Sending the message, Karen then wondered if she should use her microwave or her heat vision to heat up her takeout. Her phone buzzed again.

Clark: Well, just be careful around Ted Kord. He's buddies with that Booster Gold guy.

Karen gave a roll of her eyes. She knew very well that Ted Kord AKA the Blue Beetle was close friends with Booster Gold, a time traveller who was trying to make it big as a superhero in the past to get rich and famous. More often than not, Booster roped Ted into one of his many get-rich-quick schemes. But Karen was confident that she could handle anything that came her way if Booster got any ideas towards her.

Karen then replied to Clark's message.

Karen: I'll be careful. I've got the same powers you do, remember?

Deciding to use her microwave, Karen popped the takeout in and set the timer for a couple of minutes when her phone buzzed again.

Clark: I know you do. You still up to swing by the Farm this weekend?

Karen smiled and sent a thumbs-up emoji indicating that she was up for what Clark asked. Clark sent a smiley face in reply.

The microwave beeped and Karen took out her dinner and prepared to savour it. Turning on the TV to listen to the news, Karen watched the weather report which was saying that stranger storms had appeared out of nowhere and were unprecedented for this time of year.

Gotham City.

Helena Bertinelli entered her apartment and sighed tiredly. It had been a long day at Gotham Highschool having to deal with the students who handed in homework late or the school faculty who bothered her with their problems, or in the case of some of the male teachers, hitting on her.

It would an hour of relaxation before Helena worked her other job. To clarify, Helena's other job wasn't anything like being an exotic dancer or entertainer in the seedier parts of Gotham and there were many seedy parts of Gotham. In truth, Helena was one of Gotham City's night-time protectors who kept the citizenry safe from the many criminals who called Gotham home. Helena had returned to Gotham City after years of being away, growing up in Sicily with her relatives. The reason Helena had come back to Gotham was to finally have her revenge on the man who had killed her parents when she was a child.

Helena was born to Franco and Maria Bertinelli. What Helena hadn't known as a childwas that her father was a powerful Mafia Don that had much of Gotham under his control with many other crime syndicates paying tribute to him. Nothing got done without his blessing or approval.

But one night, on Helena's eighth birthday, a power-hungry Mafioso decided to seize control of what Franco had in a bloody coup that led a confrontation between Helena's father and the man who would then murder him and Helena's mother in cold blood. Helena had watched it all from the safety of a nearby closet her mother hid her in.

After watching her parents be murdered, Helena was found by some still loyal members of Franco's syndicate who then sent her to live with her relatives in Sicily. Helena was then taught how to fight and defend herself, but she wanted more than that. She wanted revenge on the man who killed her parents and she then learned who it was that murdered them. Roman Sionis, now known to everyone in the underworld of Gotham as Black Mask for his penchant of wearing a mask made of dark black wood fashioned in the shape of a skull.

After getting her Pedagogy degree as a teacher, Helena moved back to Gotham and got a job at Gotham Elementary and worked at night hunting down Mafioso's to search for leads on Black Mask.

But Helena's investigations and brutal MO drew the attention of Gotham's protector, the almost mythical Batman. Batman found Helena shooting crossbow bolts into the leg of a Mafioso and confronted her. After a brief fight which Helena nearly won if not for the intervention of Batman's allies, Helena surrendered and was taken to the Bat Cave where she was questioned and interrogated by Batman on what she was doing. After admitting to Batman she was searching for leads on Black Mask to get revenge for her murdered parents, Helena was then grudgingly given assistance from Batman and his allies in her search for Black Mask.

It had been a few weeks since her team-up with Batman, but it hadn't turned up any useful leads. Helena was tempted to go off on her own to search for leads on Black Mask, but she knew Batman would no doubt find out and argue with her about it.

Helena pulled the pin that held her hair up in a bun and let the dark wave locks cascade down her shoulders, Helena took off her glasses and rubbed her eyes. She had some time to shower and eat some dinner before going on patrol when her phone chimed. Picking up the device, Helena saw that it was a private message from a private number; knowing this was most likely Batman calling her in for something, Helena opened the message and read it.

The message was simple and to the point.

Huntress. Come to the Cave. Something is happening.

"So much for a shower and dinner," Helena muttered to herself as she walked over to her closet and opened the secret compartment which contained her uniform. Donning it quickly. Helena climbed out the apartment window and slid down the drainpipe to where her customised motorcycle was waiting. Starting the engine, Helena revved it a few times before speeding off to the nearest secret entrance to the Bat Cave.

New York City.

Donna Troy entered the apartment she shared with older sister Diana. It had been a tiring day; she had carried out the first of her duties as an ambassador for Themyscira and had to endure the endless and intrusive questions about her and her people from news crews and diplomats who wanted to know everything there was to know about Themyscira and the Amazon Nation. Donna also endured the numerous catcalls from young men as they saw her and when one young man got a little too handsy, Donna threw the pervert into a dumpster. Diana had chided Donna for doing that, but she didn't care; that little perve was asking for it.

All this was only affirming Donna's opinion that there was nothing in Man's World for her and she was tempted to ask her Queen-mother to send someone more suited for diplomacy. Donna had trained all her life to be a warrior, she had no taste for the scheming and backstabbing of the politics of Man's World. She preferred a good clean fight where she could see the enemy in front of her with her blade in her hands to not being able to see who was friend or foe playing games where words had different meanings than originally intended and having to endure being treated as Wonder Woman's sidekick or a child.

It would be a few hours before Diana returned home, so that meant Donna could relax a little and take the stress off the day with a cold bottle of pink lemonade. Taking out an ice cold bottle of pink lemonade from the fridge, Donna popped the top and guzzled the fizzy pink liquid, enjoying the fizzy sweetness the beverage offered. Sitting on the large sofa and leaning back into the cushions, Donna sighed and closed her eyes, enjoying a moment of quiet.

Then Donna's tingled and her eyes snapped opened and she grumbled in annoyance. "What is it now?" she groused as she picked up her phone and opened it. It was a message from Diana and it seemed urgent.

Donna! Head to the embassy now! We have a situation!

Smiling to herself, Donna skolled the remainder of her drink before tossing the bottle aside. Clanging her bracers together and spinning around in a circle, Donna's civilian clothing fell away to reveal her Amazonian battle attire along her Lasso of Persuasion and her sword and shield.

Looking at herself in the mirror, Donna gave her reflection a confident smile and with that, she flew out the window heading towards the Amazon embassy.

Sora arrived on the play island and floating above the island was a large dark sphere. "What is that?" Sora asked himself as he looked up at the giant dark floating orb. Sora then turned to see two boats he recognised. "Riku's boat? And Kairi's!" he exclaimed

Then lifting themselves up from the sand were creatures made of darkness, each with beady golden eyes. Sora's eyes widened in recognition; he'd had a dream of these creatures a few days back. Pulling out his wooden sword, Sora attacked the first one nearest to him; the wooden toy weapon simply passed through the creature harmlessly. Sensing he could not fight these creatures without a proper weapon, Sora opted to run past them and see if could find Riku or Kairi.

Running past the shadow creatures, Sora saw Riku standing on the small island where they would sit and watch the sunset. Running past the creatures and across the bridge, Sora shouted, "Where's Kairi? I thought she was with you!" Sora shouted at Riku who didn't seem too bothered by what was happening.

"The door… has been opened," Riku said quietly.

This only confused Sora. "What?!"

"The door has been opened, Sora! Now we can go to the outside worlds!" Riku exclaimed in rising excitement.

"What are you talking about?! We gotta find Kairi!" Sora yelled.

"Kairi's coming with us!" Riku said confidently. "Once we step through, we might not be able to come back. We may never see our parents again. There's no turning back, but this may be our only chance. We can't let fear stop us! I'm not afraid of the darkness!" he declared.

Riku then stretched his hand out to Sora just as tendrils of darkness began to wrap around him. Sora struggle to reach his friend's hand to pull out of the darkness, but no matter what he did, he couldn't reach him. Then everything went black. Suddenly a bright light filled the darkness banishing it and Sora opened his eyes to see in his right hand, a strange sword shaped like a key and in the corridors of his mind, Sora heard a word.

Keyblade… Keyblade…

Griff entered the dining hall where he hoped to find the cheesemonger Illyrio Mopatis, as well as Old Griff, Septa Lemore and Haldon. Instead, the dining hall was empty, not even any servants were nearby.

"Hello? Is anyone here?" Griff called out, his voice echoing slightly.

There was no answer.

At the far end of the dining hall there were some chests, no doubt containing gifts for his nameday celebration. Seeing as there was no-one to stop him, Griff walked over and picking the one nearest to him, Griff opened it to reveal the carved green wood of a Goldenhart bow strung with catgut and twine along with a quiver full of yard-long arrow shafts flighted with the feathers of exotic birds.

Quickly fixing the bow to his shoulder, Griff proceeded to open the other presents. There was a tome of Targaryen Kings from Haldon, a book of songs from Septa Lemore, a fine shirt of chainmail from Old Griff. The final gift appeared to be from Illyrio; it was a long thin package and felt light which had Griff curious. Cautiously opening the package, Young Griff's purple eyes widened as he saw what was inside the package.

A sword. And not just any sword, it was a Valyrian steel sword and it was almost immediately familiar to Griff as he remembered seeing a picture of it in one of the tomes Haldon had him read.

"Blackfyre…" Griff whispered. "The Sword of the Conqueror himself," he said softly. "How did Illyrio find this?" he asked himself.

Then there was a soft scratching sound and Young Griff turned around to see strange inky black creatures rising from the floor of the hall and the distant roaring of thunder.

"Seven above, what are you?" Griff exclaimed as the inky black creatures scuttled toward him and one leapt out with sharp claws. Narrowly avoiding the attack, Griff readied Blackfyre in his hands and said, "If it's a fight you want, it's a fight you shall have!" he declared as he swung his new weapon at the strange creatures.

Helena arrived in the Bat Cave and turned off her bike's engine. It was silent throughout the vast cave, not even the squeaks of the actual bats that made this place home could be heard.

"Weird… usually someone would be here to greet me," Helena muttered as she slipped off her helmet and set it on the seat of her bike. Seeing the large computer system of the Cave was still on, Helena walked over to it and looked at the screen. The computer was currently scanning the atmosphere which had been hit with a strange dark storm. Helena had noticed the strange weather but hadn't thought much of it. But the readings on the computer showed this storm was anything but ordinary.

"What kind of storm is this?" Helena muttered as she looked at the readings. Then a skittering noise alerted Helena who quickly pulled out one of her miniature crossbows and aimed where the noise had come.

There stood a small inky black creature with beady yellow eyes and two antenna on its head.

"What are you? How did you get in here?" Helena asked the creature which simply jumped into the air and tried to slash at Helena with its claws. Helena quickly moved back and frowned.

"So, not very friendly, huh?"

Then more creatures seemingly melted out of the shadows and surged towards Helena who then began firing her crossbows at the creatures.

Karen was finishing the last of her takeout when she was suddenly attacked by strange creatures that looked like they had come out of the shadows. Karen had been surprised by this, but she leapt into action, using her super-strength and heat vision to destroy the creatures. Karen's cat Stinky had fled and Karen was thankful for that as she didn't want her cat getting caught in the crossfire.

Her eyes glowing red with heat vision, Karen said to the shadow creatures. "Get out while you still can!" she told them before she launched herself at the shadowy monsters.

Donna arrived at the embassy and found strange shadow creatures attacking and destroying everything there was to be destroyed. Not seeing her sister anywhere, Donna bellowed, "What have you done with my sister?!" she demanded. "Answer me now, or by Athena I will make you rue it!" she declared as she drew her sword and shield.

The shadows did not answer, they merely surged towards the Amazon princess who charged towards them with an Amazon battlecry.

Sora used his new weapon to strike down the shadow creatures finding they went down more easily than they did with his wooden sword. Sora destroyed as many of them as he could, but for every one of the creatures he struck down, three more took its place.

Sora then saw a strange door to the passage to the secret place. Feeling that might be where Kairi could be, Sora dashed for the door, opening it and sprinting down the passage where he found Kairi standing in front of the strange door with now doorknob. "Kairi!" Sora called in worry.

Kairi turned and looked at Sora with sleepy eyes. "Sora…" she managed to say. Then the door with no handle burst opened and a great gust of wind came out and pushed Kairi towards Sora. Sora tried to catch Kairi as she flew towards him, but she disappeared upon contact which shocked him. The wind intensified and Sora eventually lost his footing and he was blown back down the passage outside.

Griff with the sword Blackfyre in his possession struck down many of the shadow creatures as he fought his way through the mansion. He desperately called out for Old Griff, Septa Lemore, Haldon and Duck. He even called for Illyrio, hoping that someone would answer. Making his way outside, Griff saw the entire city and even the land surrounding it was being torn up and sucked up into a giant dark floating sphere in the sky.

"By the Old, New and the Drowned! What sorcery is this?!" Griff shouted as more of the shadow creatures appeared to attack him.

"Hear me, spawn of darkness, I am the Blood of the Dragon!" Griff declared proudly. "And I will not allow demons such as you to violate this world! Leave now or die by my sword!" he warned.

His threat was not heeded as the shadow creatures charged forward and Griff charged towards them, intent of destroying them all, righteous fury coursing in his veins. He slashed for all he was worth, destroying each of the shadow creatures, but every one of them he struck, three more took its place. Then a giant shadowy fist struck down and Griff barely managed to avoid the strike and he looked up to see a giant shadow monster that glared down on him.

"So you're the leader of these vermin, eh?" Griff asked the creature who did not respond, it stood there glaring at him. "Killing you will make quite the bard's tale!" the young swordsman declared as the monster then swung its clawed fist towards him, intent on crushing him.

Donna cut a swathe through the shadow demons, shouting her sister's name. All the while, the city around her was being torn up and sucked into the dark stormy sky. More of the shadows demons appeared in front of Donna and she cut them down with her sword, bashing a few away with her shield.

"Where is my sister, you demons?!" Donna shouted. "Answer me! What have you done with her?!" she roared.

Then as if in answer, a large clawed fist swung down at Donna who managed to move away and saw the creature the clawed limb was attached to. Looking up at the monster, Donna gritted her teeth and said.

"So the king of these creatures appears himself, eh?" she mused. "If I destroy you, this madness will end!" she declared as she twirled her sword in her hand, ready to make her legend.

The creature swung its fist at Donna who met the limb with her sword.

Helena fired nearly all of her crossbow bolts at the shadow creatures, but they still kept coming. She then switched to her collapsible bo staff and activated the taser function of it. Both ends crackled with electricity as she twirled the weapon in her hands as if taunting the creatures into attacking her. The first few creatures were disposed, each disappearing in puffs of inky black smoke.

"What have you done with Batman?!" Helena shouted. "Answer me now and you won't get hurt. Much!" she threatened. Then the ceiling of the cave ripped open and was sucked upwards into the sky. Her eyes widened in alarm, Helena pulled out her grapnel launcher and fired a cable line, the pulley system pulling her upwards into the air where she stood in the remains of what looked to be a mansion.

Looking around her and seeing the devastation, Helena shouted, "What the hell is going on?!"

Then looming over her was a large gigantic creature made of shadow. Helena swallowed a lump in her throat but she quelled her fear as she readied herself for a fight.

Karen made it to the rooftop of her apartment building and saw that nearly all of Metropolis was destroyed and being sucked up into the darkness that loomed in the sky. Fear gripped Karen as she was hit with memories of Krypton's destruction. Her fear was then replaced with rage as her fists trembled with barely suppressed anger as she said, "I watched as my homeworld was destroyed. I won't let anything happen to this one!"

Then appearing in front of Karen was what she could only assume to be the leader of the creatures. With rage guiding her, Karen flew towards the shadow creature and began punching it in the head with her all strength.

When Sora came to, he saw that he was standing on what remained of Destiny Island and his eyes widened in horror. "Whoa!" he gasped then standing in the middle was the giant shadow creature from his dreams. Charging at the monster with his new Keyblade, Sora ran towards the creature just as it slammed one hand down into the ground and springing up from the creature's fist was more shadow creatures. Sora quickly eliminated them before running up the larger one's arm and he began to slash at the thing's head several times.

Jumping off knowing he did enough damage, Sora saw the monster being sucked up into the dark sphere above the island. Realising he was going to be sucked in too, Sora latched onto a tree branch, holding on like grim death, but to his dismay, Sora was sucked up into the dark sphere and he gave a scream of fear and despair as he was sucked into darkness. As the darkness claimed him, Sora heard a voice in his head "Sora, these are your first steps."

Griff had managed to get onto the shadow monster's shoulder and stabbed the blade of Blackfyre into the creature's neck hoping it had a jugular that would bleed. Whilst the monster didn't have any blood, so to speak, it fell to the ground defeated and floated up into the sky and into darkness.

Griff wanted to cheer, but the chaos around did not cease. If anything, it only worsened. "I… I don't understand! Why didn't that work?!" Young Griff yelled.

Then a great vortex began to suck up everything around Young Griff and he stabbed his sword into the ground, hoping to anchor himself. Holding onto his sword for dear life, Griff felt his body being lifted into the air as the vortex swallowed everything in its path. But then Blackfyre slipped loose from the ground and it was only lucky he still held onto it as he swallowed by the vortex and into darkness.

He screamed in terror as the darkness swallowed him whole and then there was nothing.

Donna slashed at the leader's face with her sword but it did little to stop it. It slammed one fist into the ground and began to pull something out from the ground. Taking out her lasso, Donna slung the loop around the creature's neck and flew up into the air and began to pull with all the strength given to her by the Gods of Olympus. Groaning and straining, Donna managed to pull the creature off the ground and began to spin around slowly, building up speed and momentum until she finally flung the creature up into the darkness. Feeling elated, Donna looked at the ground but saw that her feat of strength did little to halt the destruction.

"I don't understand! That should've worked!" the Amazon cried out when she suddenly felt herself being pulled up into the darkness. Using her lasso, Donna latched onto a building and held on for dear life, but the building broke apart and it along with Donna was sucked up into darkness. Donna screamed in true fear as she was swallowed by the darkness.

Helena fought like madwoman against her opponent which spawned more shadow creatures. Quickly eliminating the creatures, Helena pulled out a lump of plastique and ran up the lead monster's arm, priming the plastique. The monster tried to sweep Helena off its shoulder but she leaped smoothly over the limb and somersault over its head and landed on the ground neatly like a cat. The creature looked at her with its golden eyes before suddenly a beeping noise got its attention. On the back of its head was the lump of plastique and in Helena's hand, she held the detonator. Pushing the button, Helena watched with satisfaction as the plastic explosive exploded in a flurry of flame and noise, destroying the monster's head.

But what satisfaction Helena had was quickly dashed like a potter's vessel as the death of the creature did nothing to halt the destruction around her.

Launching a cable into the ground, Helena held on as she was lifted into the air. The cable was pulled taut and Helena hoped to god it didn't break. But as if to spite her, the line broke and Helena was sucked up into the darkness above screaming in fear.

Karen upper-cut the monster, sending it into the darkness but even with the monster defeated, the destruction of Metropolis did not halt or slow. Karen gave a howl of anguish as she watched the world she had come to call home was being destroyed. She was then sucked up into darkness and she watched in despair as her world was destroyed. She was now the survivor of another world.

On the ground undisturbed by the chaos, a robed figure with its face hooded in darkness whispered, "This world has been connected."

TO BE CONTINUED…

A/N: Well, there we have it. I sat down to write something and this is what we got. Don't know what to make of it, but if it picks up I might have a go at making this a full length story.

As you can guess, it's a Game of Thrones/DC Comics/Kingdom Hearts crossover much in the same vein as my KH/GoT story and my KH/DC story, but with some differences such as using Power Girl, Huntress and Donna Troy/Wonder Girl as the DC team.

So whether or not this picks up depends on how much you guys liked it, so if you want to see this continue, leave a review, a follow/fave and we'll go from there. If it isn't to your liking, then I'll take it down.

Anyways, not much more to say so I'll just leave this here.

Be kind to one another,

Angry lil' elf.
