A/N

Another one-shot!

This time is Preyna! and it's set in the same universe as "Feeling Loved"- i.e. it's a companion two-shot! to the story.

Main pairing here is Preyna! from Reyna's POV, but the overall pairing is Preynalia!

I like writing these.

Percy Jackson made his first appearance to her on Circe's Island, so many years ago.

She'd vowed revenge on him.

But when the golden opportunity came- to finally exact revenge on the man who did this to her-

She couldn't.

Because what did he do?

He freed her from being that old hag's slaves; he'd given her, however indirectly, a proper home in New Rome, at Camp Jupiter.

Jason Grace had made his first appearance to her during war games, her first day in the legion.

His confidence, his leadership, his power: Mount Othrys- Krios-

Well, she was a Roman.

They had a thing for power.

Then they were both Praetors and maybe, maybe they could try a relationship-

But like all the others, she knew she would be shot down.

Because he was too Roman, too damn loyal to Rome to ever commit to her.

(He could commit to her, though.

Piper?

Yeah.)

She didn't know if she loved him- she didn't know what love was.

Until Percy Jackson, her unofficial nemesis (behind that rat Octavian)-

Made her fall in love.

Maybe it was his power, or his leadership, or anything Jason had.

Those were what drew her to him in the first place, to be fair.

(Um- You're offering me praetorship- on the first day?

She knew he was powerful enough to do it. She needed a warrior. He was one, she could tell.)

("Jackson will go on the quest. Needs to learn some respect."

"I respect those who've earned it, War-God."

Mars Ultor simply smirked and said one word. A name.

Thalia.

He agreed immediately.

He didn't see her flinch.

Another way she wasn't Thalia.

The name left a bitter taste in her mouth.)

But really, what it really was-

It was his ability to heal.

(Given time, we might've been a couple.)

He was so good.

("You and Jason?"

His voice sounded hollow.)

He wanted to help.

(Yeah.)

He wanted to help her.

("Same. Well, maybe."

She turned to him.

"What?")

And they helped each other heal.

("I loved a girl. I thought maybe, maybe she'd love me back."

"Who?"

"Thalia." he paused. "Thalia Grace."

"Jason's-"

"Yeah.")

It felt so good because for once-

("We got problems with lightning-children, huh?"

Percy chuckled.

"Mhm. I think I still love her. But I..."

"What?"

"Nothing.")

Someone listened.

("Tell me about you.")

And they started to heal.

And then Thalia came.

("Why the fuck are they bringing a fucking warship to our camp?"

Reyna looked to Percy, who shrugged.

"We never had flying triremes back in my day. It's rather aggressive, too. I'll wager the mechanic's a moron. Son of Haephastus, most likely, and a brilliant engineer, but a flying trireme into enemy territory on a diplomatic mission? We never had demigods that incompetent before, to be honest."

The crowd laughed, and Reyna marvelled at his brilliance. Shaming the Greeks' politics, but acknowledging their prowess? He was aligning himself with the Romans, but showing that he was still- to some point- a Greek. She'd thought him a warrior, but damn.

Damn, he was good.")

And she was so scared- so scared that he'd leave her and

("My queen?"

She'd gotten used to their endearments, but he could still make her blush.

"Yeah?"

"I'll never leave you, dulzura."

She believed him.)

And then this Thalia Grace- well, she was intriguing. So much like Percy.

So headstrong. So much like a leader. So intoxicatingly powerful.

But also so broken.

(" I'd always thought he loved Annabeth, so I beat my feelings down into submission. Then, he did the whole confession, and-"

The demigoddess took a deep breath.

"He told me he loved me, and I knew he could. I knew he would've loved me, been the best boyfriend ever, but there was a part of me that was scared. That he was too good to be true. That he'd abandon me like... like everyone else. And in that moment, that doubt overtook me. I flinched. He left."

Reyna stared at her, disbelieveingly.)

So she decided to heal her, too.

("I want Thalia."

Percy stared at her.

"What?"

"I want her. And us. Together."

Percy deadpanned for a few moments.

He looked positively delicious in his 'kiss the chef' apron, but this was serious.

Then he smiled.

"Okay.")

And she fit right in and they healed together.

("We want you."

She had the most dumbfounded look and it was so cute.)

("Why me?"

Percy smiled.

"It's because you're you."

"We were both broken, and we helped each other heal."

"And now, we're helping you."

Thalia smiled a watery smile.

And Reyna knew.

She was healing too.)

And now, in this bed with Percy and Thalia – she felt loved. And for once-

Reyna's heart didn't feel broken.

(Not a single demigod or demigoddess will heal your heart.)

Venus was right.

Because her two lovers, snuggled into her sides-

They were the two who healed it instead.

Fin.
