On the fifteenth of May in the Jungle of Nool, he was taking a nice stroll around the jungle when Horton the elephant heard a cry in the distance. Horton stopped walking and looked towards the sound.

Horton asked himself, "What is that sound? Where's it coming from?" He was getting curious about what is happening. Then he followed the sound of the crying. He took the directions to where the crying is coming from. The crying got louder and louder as he followed the sound.

When he got there, he got his eyes wide open. He saw a baby girl wrapped in a white cloth lying near the river. It's not just any baby girl he saw, it was a human baby girl. In all of his life, Horton has never seen a human baby girl before.

Horton knows that the baby needs to have nourishment and soon, it will be a long time to reach a place where there are humans and without a mother's care she'll die. Horton knows that he has to do something about this and fast.

Then something occurred to him, he will take care of the baby girl and raise it as his own. He has to tell Sour Kangaroo though because he knows that she must know about this.

Horton then took the baby girl and went to search for Sour Kangaroo and he knew that he must tell her what he just found.

Then he saw Sour Kangaroo waiting for him. She then got shocked when she saw the human baby with Horton. Then Horton told her what happened.

Sour Kangaroo was shocked to hear about what happened and she agreed with the idea that Horton will care for the child and raise it as his own child. Horton then named his human daughter Nara. Sour Kangaroo agreed with that name very much.
