Hayes slams the door shut. She knows Connor can hear it but the effect of her client being killed is too strong for her. She's angry. The system let Earl down. He should have never died. Hayes can't even take off her jacket. She just stares off into the distance.

Connor Wallace is angry. The wrong man died. The system that he tries to do a good job for today threw it back into his dace. He takes off his over jacker and rubs his face. He's about pour himself a whiskey when he looks at the door seperating his and Hayes' room. Hearing the door slam a few minutes earlier, Connor goes over to the door and opens his side. He knocks on the door.

Hayes hears the knocking on the door. Her feet stay cemented to the ground. "Hayes." Connor speaks softly against the door. His voice momentarily stops the already waterfall of tears rolling down her face. "I know it's terrible." He says taking a moment to gather the right words to say. His heart is breaking for her. He knows this is tough on her. Apart from her brother Jackson, Connor wallace is the only man that knows the real Hayes. "But we got Bill. He's going down for captial murder." He continues. "Please say something." He says. His voice is softer than usual his soft voice continues. "Open the door."

Hayes looks towards the floor she speaks, still in the same place as when Connor first spoke to her. "I knew I couldn't do this job. I told you." She says as she turns to the door.

"Open the door." Connor says softly.

Hayes turns to the door, she walks to it and when she gets to the door she continues talking. "I gave him hope. He wanted to know the truth and I found it. Earl was innocent."

"I know." Connor says softly.

"And... He died anyway. I... I couldn't save him."

"You did everything you could." Connor says. His voice still soft and it's slightly calming to Hayes. She can't help but move closer to the door when he speaks. She rests her head on the door with a slight bang on the wood.

"I told him it was warm food. Why did i do that?" She says. "What do I know." She continues almost answering her own question. She moves away from the door, the little bit of the 'shy Hayes Morrison' doesn't want him to hear her cry.

"Open the door." Connor says once more. This time she does what he says, unlocking the door as she steps away from it allowing him to enter. The door opens and Connor walks into the room.

He walks to her and puts a hand on her shoulder. That touch makes the flood gates open and the tears roll down her face as she flings herself towards him. He stumbles a little but is quick to regain his footing, he instantly wraps his arms around her, holding her close. She cries in his arms. He rubs her back softly and moves to her hair, he strokes her hair whispering "I'm here." and "I've got you."

She leans off him and looks into his eyes. "Connor." She whispers, almost unhearable to him Her eyes are full of tears and he looks at her for a few seconds. He uses his thumb to wipe the tears from her eyes and leans in for a kiss.

She instantly kisses him back. Her hand strokes the back of his hair and her tears begin to roll down her cheeks again. They lift their lips off and after a second they go back, she kisses harder this time. Crying as she kisses him, he moves his hands down to her waist instantly pushing her a little closer to him. He moves back to her back.

"Connor we can't do this." Hayes says when they part from the kiss.

"Why?" He says. It hurts him.

" Your with Naomi. And I am many things but a homewrecker isn't one of them."

"Fuck her. I want you. I love you."

"I saw you kiss her a few nights ago. I came by to tell you... and she was there."

"I'll go then."

"Good night Connor."

Shes about to close the door behind him. Fucking hell hayes. He tried to kiss you. He loves you. You push him away. Your going to lose him. What if he doesn't want me? She thinks. Bullshit Hayes of course he wants you. "Connor." She whispers.

"Yeah."

"I don't want to be alone. Maybe we could have a drink?"

"Okay."

He walks into the room once more and is greeted by her lips against his. He instantly wraps his arms around her and kisses back. She whispers something as she lifts her lips off.

"What was that?" He says, his arms still around her, holding her close.

"Nothing."

They didn't care about Naomi. Connor Wallace makes that clear when he is undoing the back of her top.

Tonight it's just about them.

The next day they wake up together and fly back home. Around lunch time he tells her that him and Naomi have decided to spilt. After Jackson gives her a pep talk in the evening about her being Hayes morrison and how she would run for the hills if Connor made a move Jackson says "Your going to have to put yourself out there with him,"

The following evening she goes to his office. She smiles softly at the sight of him being alone. She knocks on the door.

"Come in." He says. She opens the door.

Before she says anything she looks him in the face. She takes a quick second to reasure herself that she is right to do this.

"I want in."

"On?" Connor asks unsure about what she means.

"Us. You and me. All of it. For real this time."

Connor takes a second to answer and this freaks hayes out. She smiles softly when he says "me too."

She shrugs her shoulders. "I have no idea how to do this. Especially working together. I'm not going to freak out or blow you off. Or screw it up in some way."

Connor smiles at the last part. He gets up and puts his stuff down. He buttons his suit jacket, knowing that he is sure that with the office floor being empty that it will definitely get unbuttoned in a few minutes, he walks over to her "me neither" he says as he walks. He stops as he is facing her. "I'm up for the challenge though. You?"

"Yeah." She says. He looks uncertain so she says it a little louder. "Yes."

He smiles and takes a step forward and kisses her. She's more than happy to kiss him back. Her hand goes to his face. Then to his jacket. He helps her with the buttons on his jacket and shrugs it off. "Why don't we just go back to mine or yours?" He says.

"Yeah. Okay."

They go to Connor's and he takes her into his bed room. He kisses her neck and undoes the knot of his tie.

After they lay in bed and she's wrapped in his arms with the duvet over the both of them. "I've missed this."

"Hayes. I need you to listen to me."

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing. But I'm going to say something that you may not like. I am in this dor the long haul. Please if you feel uncomfortable or your worried about the relationship. Talk to me."

"Okay. I know i said it a couple of weeks ago at your door, the night we kissed. I'm sorry Connor."

"I was never mad at you for leaving Hayes. I was hurt yes but never mad. I love you far to much for that."

She snuggles into him more. "I love you too Connor."
