Episode 1: A New Story Begins!

Shingo's POV

Duel Monsters had changed a lot since Shingo was a pro. It was a simpler time back then. Now dueling could sometimes feel like you were watching your opponent play solitaire. That was the reason he had created Duel Generations, to bring people together. To change the shape of the game. Duel Generations was his greatest achievement. He had created a way for duelists from around the world to enjoy Dueling again. This was the essence of Duel Generations.

? POV

"Now! Vendread Battlelord! Attack his life points directly!" a boy with dual-colored green-blue hair wearing a dark blue school uniform (similar to Yugi's) said as a warrior in grey skeletal armor attacked. "Duel end. The winner is, Vendetta!" said an automated voice. "GG no Re!" the boy chastised his opponent before leaving the Duel Room. "Ahh another day, another win. Let's see what my match pack has." He tapped the pack and it opened to reveal a Linkuriboh, a Cipher Wing, and a Red-eyes Fusion. "I never get anything good.." he sighed.

BRRRIIING. BRRRIIING. He picked out his phone. "Hello?" "Yoshi get to Duel World now. You won't believe what's going on here!". Yoshi wondered what his friend was talking about. "What is it Tsuki?" "Just get here okay? You're gonna want to see this." she replied. He sighed as he ported to the Main World.

Tsuki's POV

A girl wearing a white and blue school uniform with brown hair tied back in a ponytail was watching the duel between her friend Yoshi, Vendetta, and a common level duelist whose name she couldn't remember. Tsuki had called him to discuss leads on the tournament that was meant to decide the King of Games. It had been hard for her to find any, seeing as no one had seen or heard from Shingo Kimichihara, the owner of Duel Generations. He had been missing since the announcement of the tournament. From what she had been able to gather online Kimichihara had wanted to leave ownership of the game to the winner of the tournament. She had called Yoshi to tell him this before it became news. She knew he wanted to win it and she wanted to help him.

"I'm here, what was it you wanted to show me?" Yoshi asked as he walked into the Virtual Cafe.

"Look at this. It says that Shingo Kimichihara is missing!" Tsuki said as she showed him something on her phone.

"So how does this help us win the tournament? It doesn't make any of the Legacy Duelists easier to beat."

"No", Tsuki replied. "But don't you think we should at least try and find out what happened to him?"

"Fine. We'll start tomorrow. I can't help today. I've been assigned to show a new player around" Yoshi replied.

"Really? Mind if I come with? It's not like I have anything better to do today" she asked.

"Sure why not? The more the merrier." Yoshi said hiding the deep shade of red on his face. "Come on. I'm supposed to meet him at the Portal.".

They got to the portal but didn't see anyone there. The entryway was deactivated as most people were already in and playing.

"Hey, are you the guy they told me was coming" Yoshi turned and saw a shorter boy with brown hair and green eyes. He was wearing a green t-shirt and white pants.

"I'm Yoshi and you must be Allister. This is my friend Tsuki and I'm going to show you around. Welcome to Duel Generations"

/

"So in Duel Generations you can use cards you own in real life by scanning them into the console. You could also just buy cards from the shops and build decks online." Yoshi was explaining as they walked past the card shops.

"Ok, but how do I duel someone?" Allister asked.

"Oh, well to duel your friends casually you can go into the Duel Rooms, you could also play against the AI…"

"But there's always the tournament." Tsuki interrupted.

"What tournament?" Allister's eyes lit up as he asked.

"Well the creator of the game and President of Shihara Corp, Shingo Kimichihara has been missing for a while, but he had a plan for a tournament where you have to beat AI renditions of some of the greatest players ever. The first 8 or 16 people to complete it play each other to determine the King of Games." Yoshi explained shooting Tsuki a glare.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner? Let's go to it!" Allister said.

"It's not that simple. Only one person has beaten the first level so not too many people are trying it right now." Yoshi replied.

"Well that sucks, but I bet that if I tried I could!" Allister reassured.

"You seem awfully confident, what do you say to a duel?" Yoshi challenged.

"You're on!"
