Dust flew about the playground, as a gang of rascals harass the huddled forms of two other children. A young boy with a nest of green hair stood nervously in defiance at the ringleader of the opposing gang. His unsure grimace, clenched fists and shaking knees made it obvious to anyone watching, just how out of his league the brave little boy was. Against the odds there was no way this would be hero stood a chance, as the rascals began their attacks. Soon enough the boy was laid out. Beaten worse than the child he was trying to protect. Would no one come to his aid?

"HEY!" a voice rings from the other end of playground. A little girl stood, arms crossed, chest puffed up as her large eyes zeroed in on the leader of the gang.

"Sheesh! It's her again" one of the lackeys groaned.

"Cheese it!" The other said already turning tail.

"You again!?" The ringleader's crimson gaze shot daggers at the approaching girl. "Mind your own business!" he kicked up dust in her general direction. She hopped through the cloud, nearly getting in his face. "How many times do I have to warn you?" She spat back in a huff.

"Get lost! There's no teachers around, so who're you gonna tell?" He smirked pushing her shoulder.

"I wonder how your mother would like to hear about this..." She played coy, pointer at the corner of her mouth. He clicked his tongue, deterred by the hell he'd undoubtedly face if that devil woman were to find out. "Fine! I'll back off! This isn't the end, nerd!" He shouted at the green headed boy before running off. She let's out a sigh of relief finally checking on the fallen boys. Crouching at his side, her hair swept along the ground. His eyes somewhere far off, the boy looked devastated.

"You okay?" She poked at his dirty cheek.

"Yeah…" his disappointment written all over him. "Thanks, A-" he couldn't even finish his thanks as her finger pressed his lips shut. "What did I tell you to call me?" she now shared in a bit of disappointment.

"T-thanks… T-"

A far off memory echos in a girl's mind, as she walks through the gates of her new school.

Yuuei Academy, a prime stomping ground for many an aspiring hero. It took a whole lot of time and effort to get here… Months upon years of preparation, study and so on to finally make it into this prestigious academy. All worth it considering the success rate of graduates and alumnus in the respective fields. Tsuyu Asui, knew this as well as anyone. Even moreso that getting in was just the first step in what was sure to be a long winding road towards heroism. Her department, the Hero Department was bursting with talented prospects and she knew, that just as she did, they held lofty goals in pursuit of that coveted heroic lifestyle. And with that came competition, she would have to grind herself to the bone to get by.

It was a cool spring day as the cherry blossoms fell about. Something out of a drama, as the students arrived for their first day back, and for her and many more the first of the three years to come. Tsuyu felt a tad uncomfortable in her new uniform. The thick material hung heavy on her, the gray and green ensemble was large on her as well. Though she assumes with time she'll grow into it.

'Oh Mongoose...' the young woman sighed to herself, letting out a soft croak as she stared ever so fondly at her cellphone's screen. 'You're doing your best out there… I should try my best too!' She puffed her chest, pumping a single fist lightly as she braved the bright future ahead.

Suddenly with a bump of her shoulder, a young man collided with her. A mess of green and gray in the shape of a young man stood in front of her, only slightly turning to meet her gaze.

"S-sorry! I wasn't paying attention. It won't happen again!" The boy cried out in tizzy. His dark green hair flared out in every direction. His over sized uniform made him look slender, its bagginess highlighted as his necktie bundled into a short and fat knot against his neck. He lifted his head with barely a look into the girl's eyes. And yet at the sight of his freckled face, she seemed to recognize him. He quickly turn away, running off ahead of her.

In his wake the frog girl stood in surprise.

"Midoriya..." the name slipped from her lips. A hint of fondness in her voice as she recalled the boy. He was someone from her childhood. A classmate, a friend, the shy green boy from her old elementary school. By what she remembered of him he hadn't seemed to change much, he was definitely taller, but then again so was she. No what really surprised her was that he made it to this school. Last she remembered he was quirkless, though it didn't matter to her. For all intents and purposes, he really embodied the heroic mind despite his lack of ability.

She felt drawn to reach out to the boy that had long since left. 'I guess that's about right… seven years. Has it really been that long?' She felt a twinge in her heart. Seven years ago, she permanently moved prefectures, due to her father's employer reopening their old branch and with that left her old life completely. Granted though they weren't that far apart, it was much too far for a child to travel alone. 'Though I can't blame him. It must have been so hard for him back then...'

She remembered it all so clearly. 2nd grade, Midoriya would get mercilessly bullied whenever he reached out to 'that jerk', he who she refused to name. Every time he'd so much as try to raise a hand against Midoriya, she'd step in with threat of teacher intervention to shake the other boy and his goons off. Afterwards Midoriya would timidly blurt out a thanks and scurry off. But it with that, Midoriya wasn't the only person she recalled from her past. Now 'that jerk' occupied her mind. That foul mouthed, rude, overconfident jerk. His name etched into the back of her mind as she could just imagine the countless times she had to report him. If she never saw him again, it still wouldn't be enough.

Tsuyu could feel herself bubble with anger, she felt a rumbling in her throat as she was interrupted once again by another person bumping into her. This one however felt just that bit larger than Midoriya as the rough collision moved her just that much more. And as if reality took it upon itself to spit in her face, the jerk himself stood before her.

"Watch your self ass-..." the young man spat venomously at her before even catching a glance at the perpetrator of this annoyance of his day. He looked up and down the girl before his face twisted from anger to beleaguered annoyance. He clicked his tongue and grit his teeth as he spoke with a low growl.

"You..."

She looked in surprise and slight dread, as she hoped for the hopeless. Oh how she wished he too wouldn't recognize her. She faced him however with her best neutral face, one that was pretty damned good if she could say for herself.

"Stay out of my way, Froppy." He ended, walking away with a swagger that seemed so obvious.

Tsuyu stood stunned. Almost no one ever called her by that name. It was her nickname from way back, she made it up when the class talked about what they wanted to be when they grew up. Very few should know about it, much less use it with a familiarity. Now most people would be happy to know that they weren't forgotten. Tsuyu however, was far from happy not only was someone she admittedly disliked used it. But he just used it as if it were some kind of insult. Made all the worst by the fact that it meant he definitely remembered her. All she could hope for now was that she would be in a different class from him.

Reality struck against her once again, as if she asked for injury to go along with the insult. There he was, that jerk. Not only that, he was seated right in front of Midoriya. She couldn't help but feel sorry for the green boy as she heard what few words she could from her seat. Not that, that jerk made it hard. He still used that insulting nickname from Midoriya.

Deku, he'd scream at the freckled boy for getting in his way, A tirade here a tantrum there somethings never changed… Though at this age, that could be a problem. The orientation came and passed as their class settled into a rhythm. One thrown of as their homeroom teacher announced an impromptu quirk apprehension test.

Tsuyu, confident in her abilities coasted through most of the challenges, her mind elsewhere. More specifically at the two boys, now young men and their significant growth as aspiring heroes. None more significant than Midoriya who seemingly had power comparable to a pro, though his control was less than even a beginner. Bakugo on the other hand had always been a power house, he was an impressive performer that garnered lots of cheap praise when they were younger. And despite it going to his head, he kept pace with his abilities. Now if only his attitude didn't divert attention from his ability.

Tsuyu approached him in between the last few events.

"Bakugo!" She called hopping over the collapsed forms of exhausted classmates. "Bakugo, there was something I wanted to talk about." She hurried to his vision cone. Despite her own tired body she reached him. Tired as well, but too proud to show it, he wiped the sweat from his face, using his shirt.

"What..." he growled between ragged breaths. He towered over the girl, how time changes a person. At one point she may have stood head on with the boy, now his very frame cast a shade over her entire being. His arms, large and toned, his chest puffed, his abs prominent. Puberty did a number on him.

"Do you recognize me?" She asked plainly. Though in her own mind she was hesitant, knowing no good could come from this.

"What kind of dumbass question is that?" He huffed, grimacing at the girl. "You think you look any different?" He questioned, his eye narrowed as another raised a brow. "Those eyes, that voice, those stupidly huge man hands?" he barked with a sense that her mere presence was an affront to his very being. "Like I would forget." Katsuki trailed, sounding almost nostalgic. "You were a… huge pain in my ass!" He swerved with arrogant glee. "Nothing but a thorn in my side."

"I'm surprised… though not flattered." She rolled her eyes to his chagrin. "Only you would be so petty as to remember someone because you thought they were annoying." she tilted her head placing an index finger at the corner of her mouth.

"Shove it."

"Though it doesn't seem like Midoriya remembers me at all..."

"Oh really?" His face twisted into a wicked grin and he laughed haughtily. "That nerd forgot his little savior? Ha! Some friend he turned out to be." Katsuki gave off a smug aura, lording the green boy's failings over the diminutive frog.

"I'm sure Midoriya has his reasons. Lord knows dealing with you is hardly easy." she shot back, a determined look in her eyes.

"You lookin' Ffor a fight?" he pushed back, using is imposing form to threaten her.

"Only if your looking for a one way ticket out of here." She squared up masking herself with fake bravado.

"… I'm considering it." He answered aggressively stepping into her personal space. His hands however fallen to either side of him, not willing to follow through on his threat. Tsuyu caught on quickly, slipping a glance at his clenched fists. He was just barking up a storm. "You ain't worth it." He backed off.

"Yeah right..." She stood defiantly on the tips of her toes only barely in his face. Chest puffed with the meanest face she could muster. Which in all honestly was just her regular face if someone drew angry eyebrows on her. Hardly anything to feel threatened by, let alone retreat from.

He clicked his tongue walking away, fists stuffed in his pockets and sauntered in a way that was new to her, yet seemed so very in character with the boy she knew. She felt her toes give out as she returned to her normal posture. With a great sigh of relief she clutched at her chest feeling the slightly elevated beating of her heart.
