Okay, so some time ago, The Crow: Salvation was playing on one of the channels I have and I was curious as I had never heard of it before, but it sounded interesting. So I watched it and I got hooked on the Crow movies. Now, personally, I think the first one with Brandon Lee and Salvation were the best out of all four of them and I've seen all of them.

So this story was inspired by The Crow: Salvation. Fair warning, this story will have some very sad themes, but it will have some good themes in it too and will be rated T.

Ghost Rider belongs to Marvel. The Crow movies belong to their respective owners. I only own the Chain Angel (or Angel for short). This story will also be in first-person point of view from Angel's perspective.

The Rider, The Angel, And The Crow:

The Beginning

Chapter 1: Prologue

My eighteenth birthday was supposed to be a day that I could celebrate finally being an adult, staying out late, having a great time, maybe even going to some awesome parties and not getting home until the sun came up.

My being eighteen also meant my freedom from a sad life. My parents had died years ago and I lived with my grandfather as my grandmother had died a long time ago too. While my grandfather had been a good grandfather, making sure I was provided for, he also sheltered me a great deal. I couldn't play with other kids, I couldn't go to a regular school, and I wasn't allowed beyond the backyard, which was fenced in with a fence so high, almost no one could climb it.

When I was younger, I thought it was for my protection and in a way, it was. My grandfather didn't want me to get hurt, but he had another reason for being so protective of me. A reason I didn't find out until the day of my eighteenth birthday.

I had gotten up and made breakfast for me and my grandfather, which was something I loved to do and had asked him if I could do breakfast for us in the mornings after he had taught me how to cook and use the stove. He agreed as he claimed only I could make breakfast just like my great-grandmother used to make. That always made me smile.

I had just set breakfast down on the table when my grandfather came in and he looked like he had seen a ghost. "Grandpa? What's wrong?' I had asked.

He had smiled at me. "Oh, nothing, dear," he said in a reassuring manner, but I could see he was worried about something.

It was after breakfast that my whole world shattered. I only remembered a huge flash and a loud bang that shook the house and I fell down, hitting my head on something that made me black out.

But what I saw when I woke up made me wish I was still unconscious.

"You made your deal," an unfamiliar man said harshly.

"Please, no," my grandfather said.

As my vision cleared, I saw my grandfather standing with some men that looked very dangerous. "Grandpa?" I croaked out.

He looked at me before looking away in shame. "I'm sorry, my dear," he said, tears running down his face.

"It's time," said another unfamiliar man.

The next thing I knew, a bright light entered the room and I screamed as I felt pain, but it was a pain that felt like someone was sticking a bunch of needles into my body, a lightning bolt striking me, and as if someone was using me as a punching bag all at once. Tears flowed freely down my face as I cried out, but the pain was so intense it was a wonder I was still able to feel anything.

Suddenly, it stopped and I slumped down, the only thing holding me up were the chains that were around my arms and suspended from the ceiling. "Did it work?" I vaguely heard someone ask.

"I don't see any wings," said another.

I had little time to ponder that statement before I screamed as the pain came back much harsher than before. "Please, no!" My grandfather said.

"Shut up, old man! This was the deal!" The first person said.

I opened my eyes and I saw one of them strike my grandfather. When I saw that, something snapped in me.

I had heard some people say that a body can only take so much before a person snaps and it seemed that I had reached my snapping point. With a strength that would have rivaled many a strong wrestler, I pulled my arms down, breaking my chains. The sound of metal hitting the floor made everyone in the room turn to me in shock before they saw that my face was a look of pure anger.

I felt something on my back, but I was too angry to even see what it was. "Look! Her wings are white!" Said a third voice.

Well, that explained what was on my back. I looked at them all and suddenly, chains flew out from my hands, wrapping around all but my grandfather. I looked at each man as my mind picked up their past actions and despite it being jumbled, I could see it all clearly.

"Kidnapping, coercion, stealing, and murder," I said, my voice becoming low as I spoke. "I see all your crimes."

The chains seemed to weigh the men down and I looked at my grandfather, who held up a file and came up to me, looking like he had just lost someone dear to him.

"Angel, you must take this and run," he said. "I...I shouldn't have done it."

"Done what, Grandpa?" I asked.

"I made a deal with these men to find someone to make into an angel," he said. "But...I regretted making the deal, but it was too late by the time you were born. Why do you think I kept you so sheltered?"

It now made sense. He was trying to protect me, but not from a cruel world, but from the people he feared would hurt me. He handed me the file. "I'll handle these men, dear, but you must run," he said. "There's a price on your head now, thanks to me."

He said this with shame and I looked at him, something forming in my hand. I looked to see it was a chain link that was the color of dull steel. "You wanted out, but couldn't," I said when I realized instinctively what the chain link meant.

"Yes," he said sadly. "I'm sorry, Angel."

I looked at the man that had raised me and I hugged him, knowing this would be the last time I'd see him. "I forgive you," I said, giving him the chain link. "Keep this to remember me."

"I will," he promised before nodding. "Be careful, my granddaughter."

"I will, Grandpa," I said. "I love you."

"I love you too."

With that, I picked up a backpack and placed the file in it, placing it on my back before I headed out the door, looking up to see it was nighttime. Feeling my wings on my back, I got the instinct to spread them and fly.

It was a bittersweet moment for me and I decided to stick around and watch what would happen to my grandfather.

The police came and arrested the four men that had hurt me and the medics that arrived carried my grandfather out on a stretcher. He looked up at me and smiled before he closed his eyes a final time.

"We're losing him!" A medic cried out.

They tried to save him, but it was too late. My grandfather had died. Tears fell from my eyes before I held out my hand, a chain link made of clear glass forming in my hand. A necklace chain was around it and I put it on, standing up on the tree branch of the tree I had been hiding in. "Rest in peace, Grandpa," I said softly before looking to the sky. "I don't know where I'm going, but I know who I am. I am...the Chain Angel."

With that, I took to the sky, but little did I know that I would meet two others that were similar to me and together we'd become...

The Rider, the Angel, and the Crow.

Whew! This chapter was a bit hard to write.

Angel's appearance: A girl that is 5' 8" with long blonde hair that hangs down her back and eyes that are blue as the sky. She wears a white shirt that has ragged edges, black jeans, and black sneakers. Chain cuffs are on her wrists and are connected to a chain around her waist. I will reveal her powers in the next chapter.
