When Hector left with Ernesto, Imelda realized he'd forgotten something. She rushed to their room and found each and every one of his toys left behind. Obviously Ernesto had talked him into it. He never really appreciated when Hector had his toys in public with him. He thought it was embarrassing and childish. As much as Imelda hated Ernesto, she knew he was right. No adult should have little kids toys with them, but she wasn't about to just toss them somewhere. These toys were important to the both of them. As soon as the men disappeared from view, Imelda took Hector's toys and hid them in her nightstand drawer. She knew he'd miss them. She'd show him that she'd kept them for him when he returned.
