Rain..

Why is it always raining when something happens?

First it was her getting pulled away from her best friend. She had got to know him very well yet his name slipped her mind at the last moment. His appearance was fuzzy to her memory. All she had was a bandana from him. Navy blue with a snake design embroidered on it. She managed to trade the bandana with a simple citrine necklace but sadly she never got to see that person since then.

Second thing was her and her family leaving their old home to a new one. Sure the parents were hopeful and there were bright lights and loud noises, but it began raining a few weeks later, delaying some important things. Lo and behold though, something had happened as per usual when it rains.

They were just settling in their new home. Rooms were given to each of the kids with the twins sharing one, the eldest brother having the third biggest and the second youngest child got a room to herself for the first time while the baby of the family remained close to the parents room. It was a typical setup so everything was settled until this particular rainy day started.

She was just out on a walk home with her older brother until they heard e sounds of trash cans colliding and glass shaking in bags while loose bottles shattered on the ground. The older brother insisted they stay out of trouble, but the younger sister convinced him that they should help. He couldn't refuse her, so he followed her to help. What they found was something not human.

In fact, it was a large lizard person with confused and exhausted eyes and a pained expression. A hand clutched the front of their torn and soaked gi. The spotted lizard heaved out their breathing until it slowed. The older brother insisted they leave while they still could but instead got pulled forward by the child. She insisted that the lizard lady needed help. He gave in and picked the mutant up after setting his sister on his shoulders.

They ended up taking her back to their place. Thankfully, everyone went inside due to the heavy rain pouring down so there was no trouble on the way. At home, however, their mother scolded them for staying out too long and getting soaked, but she was at least glad that they had a good set of moralities. The little girl insisted that they need to help while the older brother could only support her. The mother sighed at them and assisted her son in bringing the lizard upstairs.

The aunt was called up to tend to the reptile's wounds. An hour and a half of waiting passed and the leopard gecko lady woke up in a panic. Can't really blame her. She was on the street last and suddenly finds herself in an unfamiliar place. The white haired woman calmed the lizard down and the little girl did get to see her awake, unfortunately it wasn't for long since the little one made a fuss over being sent off by the adult. Another thirty minutes passed with the long white haired woman listening to the gecko and the rain dying down for a while, a vehicle pulled up with four turtles and a rat inside.

The woman with bright amber eyes stared back at the rat with dark grey eyes, almost like they were sending a message to each other while the gecko lady went into the large vehicle. They drove off almost as quickly as they arrived. The woman with blue scales across her cheeks and nose looked up to a window, seeing her second youngest still up.

Their eyes met with the mother sending a message to her and she felt herself get shaken up to the core with excitement. The little one somehow knew this wasn't going to be the last time she'd see the odd group of reptiles with the rat. The rain pitter-pattered against the window while the child left up the stairs long before her mother could catch her.

Author's Note: I'm excited! Are you? I'm sure as hell am! Am I ready for this? Possibly not because now I need to remember when and where I placed the fic, but nonetheless aside from this prologue being short, I can finally continue my fic series with little to no troubles on my mind!

Anyways I hope you guys liked it. Lemme know in the comments/reviews please. It'd be wonderful and I just want some interaction before my enthusiasm drops again. Have a nice time wherever you are. Hopefully I'll see ya soon. Bye~
