Author Notes: This serves a prequel hypothetically to each possible Kazui Kurosaki sequel I've written.

Like with actual history, there will be several contradictions by these storytellers until eventually by the end, the truest one will be revealed.

The Past Faulty Part 1

"I'm still new to this story, but mind explaining to me again. What is the past of the Soul Society.," the plump woman with purple hair and black lips asked.

"Sigh, this is a secret that has been passed down from the Central 46, the prior heads of the Five Noble Clans and the Royal Guard amongst a select few others...," said Ichibē.

"A very long time ago. The world and all of creation within it was in a state of ambiguity. Neither life or death. Progression and Regression flickered to and fro. Swaying and Swaying slowly. The waning and waxing world waited for a hundred million years to cool down. Hell was a certain pit in this chaotic world. Wounds that would be fatal in our time would be immediately mended. Chains would pull the body back together, returning them to unscathed condition. The chains are what binds the Soul.," the bald monk explained.

"Hence, why the chains are essential to every Human being. Losing the chain loses the connection to the source of life. The original people must've been living in bless without dying.," Kirio hypothesized.

Ōetsu walked in and sat down between the two.

"You've come to listen?," the monk asked.

"Bless you say?," the man with dyed green hair on the sides of his head asked Kirio as he took off his glasses.

"A black sun.," he said briefly.

"Black sun?," Kirio asked, which made Ichibē look down as if reminiscing of an old memory.

Oetsu then lightly grabbed the neck.

"A black sun illuminated shadows. Substituting light with innumerable blackness. It shot down chains onto all, constricting the chest and choking the neck. Chains would wrap around the arms, tethering them to the ground. Any damage, wound or injury is instantly nullified. Returning them to an unharmed condition as if it never took place. The chains that choke the neck are bound to the black sun. The area...looked like a prison...and everyone under it was a hanging man trying so hard to cut the noose that would lead one to Hell, which occurred when someone was just deemed by the black sun to have suffered enough with Hell as a reward...because Hell was at least was something that could be unique to each individual- a continuous realm of torture, but varied world. not monotonous and perpetual embodiment of nihilistic futility. A black Gehenna.," he spoke severely as if this was a traumatic relived trauma for him that he'd likely suppressed for the sake of his own sanity.

He then turned to Kirio and asked-

"Does that sound like bless to you?"

Kirio then gulped as she felt immediate regret bringing it up.

"This sun had a large trunk binding it to the earth, which got many to think...maybe if we cut it...then it'll all be over..., but that was assuming that the sun was just a phenomena.," Oetsu explained.

"A chain would ensnare the neck of two individuals as they would be chosen for the one activity allowed- fighting. They would injury each other, but the damage would nullify for both combatants. They realized the dreaded truth as they tried to destroy the unbreakable and indestructible chains. One can't even escape because the chain would pull you back.," he demonstrated as he gestured two individuals from the shadows of his shadows. Both hitting the other, but when they realize the futility, they tried to leave- only to be pulled back again.

"No circulation takes place. Neither regression or evolution. The stagnation of life. A world with no boundary between life and death. This was the sort of world that existed before the Soul Society. Locks everything. Forbids life and death. The black sun binds even the Spiritual Particles in the atmosphere to prevent miraculous abilities to occur as they are absorbed into the black sun...that at times seemed to be mockingly laughing at the prisoners bound to its chains...leeching off their souls while providing them with energy to live for the sake of the perpetuity of this game. The only mercy was eventually being sent to Hell," Ichibē said with a sadistic laugh that seemed to be more at himself than at others.

After a dark silence, Kirio decided to change the mood.

"I see...The chain of fate is another remnant of that world, but instead of a symbiotic parasitism forced onto them, it take the form that the individual. It binds the Soul to the living body, playing part in the form a spirit will take on after death, whether to go to the Soul Society or remain in a futile gesture to succeed in a goal. A spirit whose regrets revolve around a person has its chain bound to that person and becomes an "obsessed spirit"- eventually devouring the person as the soul's first victim as a Hollow. if the spirit's regrets involve a location, or if some incident happened at that location which caused its death, the spirit's chain will be bound to that location and it would become an "earthbound spirit" or Jibakurei- becoming a Hollow regardless.," Kirio said.

"This is due to Encroachment s the process of a Plus Soul gradually losing its Chain of Fate that bind them to life. The process physically begins the moment the body dies and the Chain of Fate is broken- leading to Hollowification that has been refined in the Visoreds. The Encroachment usually lasts months or even years,. With every cycle of the Encroachment, the furthest link in the chain begins to gnash and chew into itself and the links attached to it. The process cannot be halted by any known means - any attempt to do so would end in a nasty bite...very different from back then.," she added.

Ichibē then muttered as he seemingly recalled a nightmarish experience he witnessed hypothetically-

"Hmm...bite...the chains did bite if you rebelled enough or outlived your usefulness and eat you- feeding you directly into the sun's amusement."

"But, Soul Reapers don't have a Chain of Fate. We, Soul Reapers have a Saketsu (Binding Chain). just as important as the Chain of Fate is on a Plus, but for different reasons. While there is no chain per se connected to a Soul Reaper, the area where the Chain of Fate was originally is still just as important as Soul Reapers have transcended that limitation.,"

Ichibē and Oetsu remained silent.

"In a Soul Reaper the Saketsu acts as a boost to spiritual power, in conjunction with the Hakusui (Soul Sleep), the source of spiritual power. These two points are commonly considered pressure points with Soul Reapers. If they are pierced, they seal up this spiritual power, and the Soul Reapers will lose all their power. The Shinigami who experiences this will never be a Soul Reaper again unless special circumstances are taken.," she added.

Through Ichibē' and Oetsu's perspective, they saw something that no Soul Reaper was aware of aside from a select few-

The chain didn't disappear...it just didn't need to be constantly apparent...

Oetsu and Ichibē saw the cosmic joke.

The Saketsu...was just a transparent Chain of Fate leading upwards...upwards...upwards...upwards...upwards...towards a black sun far larger than even the normal heated sun several light years away, but close enough to the Solar System.

A black sun that mockingly laughed with its eye with four pupils arranged like a cross.
