Aurasoul: Hello everyone! So some time ago I was invited to participate in Yugioh 5Ds month! And it is truly an exciting moment for me so this here will be where I will be posting my own works for the occasion. Today is the first day of 5Ds month. Day 1: Stardust Accelerator which stars the Shooting Star of Satellite himself Yusei Fudo! So this shall be a birthday fic for him!
"Yusei, Aura, wake up!" Yusei jumped awake by the sudden shout and felt his breath leave him by the sudden weight on his lap hearing a familiar yelp.
"Too early…!" Aura groaned.
"I told you, you shouldn't shout Rua." Ruka sighed.
"Hehehe sorry. Got excited." Rua smiled sheepishly, as Aura got off Yusei's lap.
"Sorry Yusei." Aura apologized.
"It's alright Aura." Yusei replied.
"Did you guys crash on the couch last night?" Jack questioned, amused.
"It was Yusei's turn to ask questions, and we didn't realize the time." Aura shrugged with a yawn. "So why the wake up call?"
"Because today is a special day." Crow grinned, handing the 2 cups of coffee.
"Special?" Aura said confused, looking at Yusei.
"I know what they're talking about." Yusei remarked.
"Clue me in? I'm lost." Aura sighed, sipping her coffee.
"It's your birthday!" Rua cheered. Aura choked on her coffee in surprise, quickly swallowing to clear her throat.
"Whose?" She squeaked.
"You and Yusei's, idiot." Jack remarked with a scoff, but a grin on his face nonetheless.
"Right. We share the same birthday…" Aura muttered thoughtfully.
"The thought never crossed your mind, did it." Yusei remarked, amused at his sister.
"Still processing the fact I have a brother. Birthdays were the last thing on my mind." Aura pouted at her brother.
"Then you process things far too slowly." Jack smirked. Aura threw her pillow at Jack's face with a scowl while Yusei chuckled at Aura's action.
"You know it's true!" Jack retorted as he hit the pillow away.
"Leave her alone Jack. You enjoy teasing her too much." Yusei said with a light smile.
"Hmph. Since it's your birthday I'll listen. This one time." Jack smirked. Aura sighed while Rua jumped in front of Yusei and Aura.
"So what do you guys wanna do for your birthday?" He asked excitedly. The 2 blinked looking at one another.
"How do you usually celebrate it?" She asked Yusei.
"Well when I was growing up at Martha's place with Jack and Crow, I got a free pass from chores around the place." Yusei recalled. "Jack and Crow got the same free pass when it was their birthdays."
"I see." She hummed thoughtfully.
"Now hold on Yusei," Jack interrupted. "While it is true that we got that free pass, we didn't always get it. Especially once we hit teenage years."
"I was giving an example." Yusei chuckled. "What about you Aura?" Aura stared at her coffee for a moment.
"Varied really. Once I was around 7, I tended to forget my birthday every year. Even if I didn't want to bother celebrating it." She shrugged. "Grandpa would give me a card and Thorn would bake a small cake."
"What?!" Rua gaped, shocked.
"It's not really a big deal." Aura waved her hand.
"Even so…" Ruka frowned.
"Then why not we try something new." Yusei suggests with a smile.
"Oh?" Aura asked curiously.
"Since we'll be celebrating our birthday together, we'll celebrate it with our friends. As well as a celebration of us reuniting again." Yusei smiled. Aura grew wide eyed in surprise, lightly scratching her cheek sheepishly.
"Well… I don't see why not." She admitted sheepishly.
"Great to hear!" Toru opened the door grinning. Aki, Misaki, and Sect there as well, smiling.
"How long have you guys been there?!" Aura gaped.
"Long enough." Aki smiled. "So shall we all head out?"
"Let's go!" Rua grinned. Yusei smiled as he stood up, his hand out to Aura.
"Need a hand?" He asked with a smile. Aura only chuckled, taking her brother's hand as they followed their friends out.
"Happy birthday Yusei and Aura!"
"Blow out the candles!" Both Yusei and Aura blew out the candles on the small cake they had brought as their friends clapped and smiled after spending the whole day out in the City. They all gathered at Aura's apartment for a small party with even a cake. They cut the cake and shared the pieces together.
"Mmm delicious." Aura hummed, taking a bite.
"Your sweet tooth seems to enjoy it." Yusei chuckled amused, sitting next to her.
"Can't help it, these are rare treats." She grinned. "But I gotta say… This is nice celebrating a birthday with friends. I almost forgot what that was like."
"Originally for me it was Jack, Crow, Martha, and the fellow orphans. Now I'm celebrating it with friends." Yusei smiled, looking at Aura. "And my sister." Aura gave a small smile before she set her plate down on the coffee table and reached behind her seat to hold out a bag to Yusei.
"Here." She said. He looked surprised, taking the bag as he set his own plate down. "This is..." He began.
"Your present." She smiled. "I asked Aki to help me get it when she dragged me off with Ruka for doing some girls shopping." Yusei opened the bag to pull out what looked to be a leather antique photo album, the leather engraved with a star-like border.
"We continue on to our future. Yet that doesn't mean we can't look back at fond memories." She hummed softly. "Cheesy I know but-" Yusei pulled Aura for an one arm hug, making her squeak flushed in embarrassment.
"O-Oi Yusei." She began.
"Thank you sister." He voiced with a fond smile. "I'll treasure this. Always." She couldn't help but feel embarrassed hoping to hide her blush as she hugged him back.
"Geez brother."
